Frigid Wednesday Morning

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Frigid Wednesday Morning

Postby Colliemom » Wed Feb 17, 2021 8:00 am

Good Morning everyone. Darn chilly out there this morning at -9, but will warm up once the sun comes up. This is supposed to be the last cold night like this, for this cold snap. Highs are heading into the 20’s and maybe even low 30’s as rest of week progresses. Nothing new for winter here. Been in worse. Sorry to hear so many of you are having such cold and snowy/icy weather. Stay warm and keep safe if you do go out. Had 3 appts over the last two mornings and it was 3 above Monday with a -4 wind chill and 4 above with a -15 yesterday morning when I left the house. But warmed up to 19 yesterday afternoon and a warm sun. Dogs and I took the longest walk we have been in in awhile.

I registered for a vaccine shot with my local health dept. and plan to register with my local pharmacy today. No shots being given as yet due to no vaccine available at the moment though. That’s okay, cause eye surgery coming up next week. MI has distributed over 1 million vaccines so far. Will see which one gets to me first.

Been busy here with painting and now doing up the loose ends. Both bathrooms, living room and one bedroom done. Am stopping for now as I ant to finish up the loose ends and get them out of the way before eye surgery next week. Need to wait about 3 weeks for paint to cure before installing some mosiac stick and peel tiles around the bathroom sinks. Can do that after surgery as other than lifting anything heavy that first week, can resume my normal activities within a couple days. All my appts are out of my way and got taxes done yesterday. Dogs are headed to the doggie spa on Friday, so we are moving right along here. Three camping reservations are now in place for this summer. Will play the rest of it by ear.

I need to get moving here soon as I finish breakfast. . Off to the shower and eventually will head out and blow some light snow off my drive and walks and clean up the dogs yard. So have a nice day everyone. Keep safe. Tina, , glad to hear that you are making progress slow but sure.

Morning Sue, weather on the shore has been cold and messy but nothing like the rest of the company. Use it or lose it, I use it and hurt it again. Being so inactive is taking a toll. I just did some stretching and inflamed a tendon in or around or somewhere in my hip area. Very painful so went to see physical therapy friend who diagnosed the problem. So glad I don’t need a hip replacement. I have increased the daily chocolate from 3 pieces to 4. Think that might help.

Tina such good news.

Be safe

Shirl, just know that your determination to keep on keeping on, has been a beacon on inspiration to me. Especially given the alternatives. This determination to slow the downhill age/slide thing takes determination for sure.

While my problems are so much less, I definitely can commiserate re hip pain. I'll probably never be doing the hikes, etc, of even a couple years ago, but I walk as much as I can to keep it limber and to hopefully avoid hip surgery as long as possible. I'm in awe of both you ladies and your determination. I want to be like you.

About half an hour ago, with the mobile repair guys playing with Ty, I got a phone call from the hospital and am getting my 1st covid shot this coming Monday. I'm not cancelling the drug store appt until it's a done deal.

The mobile rv guys left for another site so I'm not paying for all the time it's taking the water tank to drain. When they get back they'll be replacing the check valve. Sadly it's not connected to anything done the other day so I'll be writing another check. Hopefully nothing goes wrong in the next couple days because I won't be refilling the tank until the weather improves later this week/weekend.

Way too windy again today, but not the cold, snow, sleet, etc so many of you have. I just pray none of you have major damage from this crazy winter.

Good afternoon. Had a busy day had to go up to Eugene (about 80 miles) to pick up my RV. Found a place to park it here fairly close to me. No RV parking lot in this park so had to find my own. My neighbor drove me up to get it then picked me up at the storage lot after I was all parked and the paperwork taken care of. I was pleased after sitting for a few months that the generator started right up. It has never not started for me but I wasnt too sure this time as I always exercised it every month or 6 weeks. So I started it and ran it all the way back to Roseburg.

Shirl I am with you, gotta keep those joints and muscles limber (well that is all relative). Tina working on it too. Apparently determination AND chocolate will help solve the problem......I need to try that LOL

seems like I've been busy but feel like I haven't accomplished anything... yet got three loads of wash done still have one in the dryer...dishes washed... supper made trip to store... went for two things regular oatmeal and sweetened condensed milk 50 dollars later home and sitting at the computer resting a bit and look at the quick oatmeal on the counter and remember the oatmeal that I didn't remember  so annoying wonder what else I will find other than oatmeal tomorrow... maybe I will get some hamburger and we will have meat loaf that sounds good with some mashed yep does sound good... just hope I remember the oatmeal... we had sour dough pancakes for supper while there I thought that this winter salad that my sister likes would taste good with it so was more intent to get those ingredients and other stuff that just had to jump into my cart like Smith's pumpkin choc chip cookies the best!! this orchid that is so pretty :?
I need to apologize for being a brat last night I will readjust my plans I've known for years that if it came to it and mom needed someone to live with her that I would be the most logical ... and we will see I know that mom has never wanted to become as she says a burden to other's...there will be ways that it will work rearranging the bedroom will help and I can put fish in that tank that has stood empty for 20 years ... and if we can work it out so that I have backup where I can go to see my grandkids then it will work out and in time I will be back down to AZ or I may make it this year one never knows what will be decided is the best thing to do...
you all have a good night
