FRIDAY

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

FRIDAY

Postby dpf » Fri Feb 05, 2021 3:07 am

Good very early Morning! I can’t sleep so I’m not offering coffee…just because. I did remember to say Rabbits on the 1st. Great news for you Tina! Ensure and Boost will probably be on your menu for a while. Sue, last night we had thunder and lightning and snow all at the same time and the temperatures have dropped, luckily we didn’t get much snow, but the roads were very icy. BJ..could that be a spider bit?
Nothing new around here. I thought I lost a filling and went to the dentist only to find out that a lost part of the tooth. I had to have a prescription filled today and ran into the woman who oversees coordinating the COVID vaccine. She told me that I would probably be getting a call in a couple of weeks. I don’t know if I should say this, but my son had his second dose last Thursday after he finished his shift. He ended up with chills, fever and just felt like crap, plus he had hives. He isn’t sure if the hives were from the vaccine. A couple of the people on his flight team and he went out for sushi together right after they were vaccinated, and he wonders if they weren’t from something he ate. I haven’t heard of anyone else ever getting hives.
Have a good day. I’m going back to bed!
My mind works like lightning...one brilliant flash and it's gone.

Golly, I saw your headline and thought, wait, how did I moss a day?! :x
Mandy was a good girl. Had blood work drawn that may be back tomorrow. She has a heart murmur. Question is, is it continuation of one she has before her iodine thyroid treatment, or is it new because her thyroid has kicked in again. Hope we know more tomorrow.
I'll be taking goofy Suzie parrot in at 2:30 for her checkup.
Have a safe good weekend everyone.

Postby Shirlv » Fri Feb 05, 2021 9:21 am

Good morning all, drinking coffee and waiting for a Walmart email for pickup. I only need a few basics but decided to stick withWalmart because it’s super bowl weekend and local stores will be crowded. Received update from health department, no vaccine. I wish my body was as active as my mind. I am trapped in the apartment in the summer by beach traffic. Thought I would buy a trailer and keep it on my daughters property. I could go on weekends, be close to family in case of illness and family could use it for trips. Not practical since tanks have to be emptied and no access at property. My children aren’t youngsters so towing and emptying tanks isn’t an option. This aging thing is really cramping my style. :) Liz, like the price but Amazon product is much smaller and no overflow valve. I was thinking of placing one in families yard. It’s self watering so I wouldn’t have to visit every day and it has an overflow valve if it rains. Still thinking. Be safe

Tina, I’m still smiling.

Pat, you did post early. I deleted your redo and merged Shirl's morning coffee post with yours. Voila!

Nothing new here. I read the early post quite early, still half asleep, then went back to sleep myself. I'm just getting up now.

Nothing exciting here. Have a great day everyone.

Hi Shirl, Pat, Beth, Velda & all who read!

Shirl, I saw the containers on rollers you posted yesterday and that's such a neat idea! Let us know what you decided to do. Pat, it's always good seeing you here. Beth, we've been going to bed much later than usual, which means the same in getting up. Velda, I enjoy hearing about your 4 legged & 2 legged pets & you & your sons, too. I hope the parrot visit to the vet goes well. Tina, continue doing what you're doing until you're better.

We woke up to 51 degrees and not the heavy frost we saw yesterday. We're supposed to reach 77 this afternoon.

Our church has several new additions to its sanctuary and property and they will be blessed by the Bishop, who is coming to visit for this special service. Since I will be at the organ as usual, I'm a nervous wreck. I went to practice yesterday for a long time and Steve said he thinks we should get there early Sunday so I can get one more practice in before the service begins. We're both hoping my bp will stabilize once this weekend is over. Our highlight of the day is spending time outside when the weather is nice and as Karen says, stay in our bubble.

My blessing for today...the red-shouldered hawks are nesting in the same sweet gum tree they used last year near the RV park. I saw them mating on the chapel roof recently, so I've been watching. Last year they raised two fledglings. I'll keep you posted.

Rainy day today, so I did some cleaning and laundry inside, but my main accomplishment was doing my taxes online. It was so easy this year, as they already had most of the info from last year's return. I only had to input the $amount from the 1099s for 2020. I use free file: OLT.com (OnlineTaxes)

Shirl, I am very seriously considering doing something like this. Since we live in an HOA, actually POA (property owners assoc.), we have a long list of do's & don't. Nothing can be put in the grassy areas of our yards for the grass cutters. I'm thinking about along the inside edge of our pergola, which is in back of our casita, out of site from the road or anyone passing by. I'll let you know what transpires!

Good afternoon gals.

Yesterday I worked at one of the other shops. 3 of their stylists didn't come back after the shutdown so they are shorthanded. The gal who didn't show up for her shift the other day at my salon got fired this morning so now we are shorthanded too.

Yesterday was busy but we had some down time to sit and relax a few times so that helped. I got $100 in tips which is good for that shop since tips aren't generally as good there. Am back at my shop today and already have over $60 just in cash tips and still have 4 hours to go. Luckily it is slower today so can take some short breaks. When I get home from work, I am completely wiped out! I work all weekend and then have Monday and Tuesday off. Whew!

Gotta get back to work now...have a good day!

Good afternoon all. Nice sunny, partly cloudy day with no rain. I will take it. Not much happening here today. Did a load of laundry, put the table I bought together so I can put my plants on it in front of the window. Actually went together pretty well. I bought a file cabinet I have to put together yet but decided today was not the day LOL

I need to go to Fed Ex still, and Home Depot for returns. Then thought I would go to the store and get a few things to beef up the grocery dept. And then my brain kicked into gear...........Super Bowl weekend. So decided I will just wait until Sunday or maybe even Monday, I think that is a better plan.

Cleaned out the fridge yesterday and finished up the leftovers today so I can start over now ha ha I will be heading south on Wednesday so my eye doc appts. I dont want to have too much in the fridge leftover. Have a few things in the freezer to tide me over for a few days. I can restock when I get home.

We got real busy this afternoon so I was wiped out and sore by closing time. I ended up with $150 in total tips for the day. Almost makes up for how bad I feel at the end of the day. :D When I was in MN, I used to think $50 was a good day! Today, one guy handed me $50 for a $17 haircut and walked out the door. Another guy paid for his haircut with a $100 bill and gave me nothing. Go figure!

Luckily, my tummy issues are pretty much gone today so that is one less thing to deal with. Still got this annoying dry cough.

Off to bed soon. Another long day tomorrow.
