Good morning Everybody from sunny Connecticut
I made a quart of Bailey’s like Irish Cream. It does taste good, but a 1.5 liter of Bailey’s cost the same as 1 liter of Jameson Irish whiskey. Of course I now have a liter of Jameson ( minus 1 cup). Sometimes I wonder about myself.... you can add some to your coffee if you’re not driving anywhere.

It was mostly cloudy last evening at the time of “the star” and there were too many buildings in the way, so I didn’t even go outside. Glad some got to see it. We have turned the corner and each day will be brighter. Enjoy it. Peggy

Shirl, you did and I just merged them. I'm trying to figure out where I'm going and when. First I'll see when I can get some appts. Audiologist first, rv in for oil change next... those both in the same area if I can get in. My job was intended to pay for new hearing aids among other things so I'm hoping we can make these last at least another year. Then I'll see about appts for doctor and skin doctor. Those two will determine when I need to be back at my casita. I tried to do a zoom meeting of the board of directors meeting of my Escapees park this morning. The volume was too low for me to hear anything so that was a waste of time.

Off for a walk. Have a great day.

Good almost afternoon! I’ve been out trying to clean up some of the snow and did manage to get the front of Lola cleaned off. Wish I was brave enough to get on top of her to get the rest of it but kinda figured that wasn’t a good idea! Wondering if I turned on my electric heater if that would help speed up the melting. Any thoughts or experience with snow removal wold be appreciated. Temps are in the high 30’s right now so I managed to get some more of the mess at the end of my driveway cleared. Hoping it stays warm enough to help melt the rest. Tomorrow and Christmas Day look to be in the teens and some snow forecasted. Just as glad now that I’m staying home. Snow I can handle but ice is forecasted too and been there and done that, don’t want to do it if I don’t have to! Ran to Petco yesterday so Rascal has food again! Wasn’t out but getting low. I was happy to get out of State College traffic and back home to our little town! Every lot I saw was jammed. No way I was going anywhere else! Car is in the garage again and that’s where it’ll stay for a few days! Was sure nice not to clean about 2 feet on snow off of it the other day! Beth, if I haven’t said it already I’m glad you made the right decision for you and Ty. Your well being is more important. Tina, hoping you feel better each day. Hope everyone else is having a good day. Stay safe and well.

I haven't seen/read my horoscope in probably years but it popped up this morning. How apropos.

"The power to change an unhelpful or uninspiring scenario is yours. It is possible to embark upon a new chapter that leaves behind one that has felt frustrating and immovable. If you decide enough is enough, then make an effort to look back on what became habitual in the first place. If you don't want to return to similar circumstances in the future, then that's what needs to be addressed."

Wow Beth. That sure hit right on the button. Now to move on to better things and better times.

Beth, I am so happy you could just move on! Here's looking to new adventures!

Peggy, I'll be over for coffee with Bailey's. :) They have so much tax on liquor here - over 20% - but if you are going to imbibe, you pay the price. After being in Arizona, it's a shock!

Sharon, snow on the roof is probably going to be an issue here, too. With the 6 inches or so we had, there was surprising little on anyone's roof here. I have to pull the back slide in to use the ladder so who knows!

Woke up to beautiful skies today. After the nice snow it rained and rained some more. The temp tonight is to be 22 with high of 29 tomorrow. Gonna get interesting. :) I bought a heated throw that I could live under - even when it isn't heated. I'm a little concerned about the kids getting me to their place for Christmas.

Miss Procrastinator here finished some outside things today. New sewer part came and they went from brass to cheap plastic connector so another part to order. I used Loctite on the crack enough to slowly drain the tanks. Both vehicles started right up. Trash bag was so heavy I used the old lady cart to get to the dumpster - over a 1/4 mile each way. With altitude, hills and out of shape, I got some deep breathing exercise. :D And then I realized I forgot to take the small bag out of the kitchen can.

Hoping you are better each day, Tina!

Be safe!

Got up for golf this morning. We all played pretty good! One lady got a hole in one. She will get a pin and some money for that once we figure out how much that will be. Will have to contact one of the ladies who used to run the league.

Then went to get my stitches removed which didn't take long. It is still a little sensitive to the touch but otherwise healing fine.

Then stopped at Hobby Lobby to pick up a few things. I have collected a few of the dead palm fronds around here after a strong wind to possibly use with my gourd art. Then when I was pulling out of the front gate today, I saw someone had made a reindeer face on a palm frond. I decided to make one of my own. Then I stopped for some groceries that I wasn't able to find the other day at WM. Got some fresh shredded chicken to make chicken a la king (and some for Lola).

For those of you who missed the Star of Bethlehem, it wasn't anything like they said it would be (unless you had a big zoom lens or telescope). Just looked like a slightly bigger star.

I better go make my reindeer!

Have had a busy couple of days. My handymen were here and I now have 13 installed vinyl windows. I got a pretty darn good deal on them compared to some of my friends. One of the fellows used to be a window installer for Lowe's so he really knew his stuff. He is the stepson of my neighbor handyman and they work together. I lucked out finding these fellows. Monday they are replacing toilets, sinks and faucets in my bathroom and removing the rugs (who puts rugs in a bathroom yuck) and laying down new vinyl flooring. I am very excited for this to take place. They will be back on Monday.

I ventured to the store and took one look at Walmart and Thunderbird grocery stores and just kept on driving!!! I went to Safeway and was pleasantly surprised they had several buy one get one free things that I needed. I only went for salad fixins, milk, and coffee. $45 later I am out of there LOL grabbed a Hazelnut Latte from Starbucks on my way out. Now I dont have to leave home until after the holidays. I do need gas but can get it at Costco after Christmas.

I scored today finally able to get the books plus the one set of books for Jan was there so picked them up.... got to the truck and remembered a couple of items not on the list it will happen another day...
came home and took a nap something about wandering through Walmart that is tiring..
need to decide how to organize myself and get done what needs to be done and when
I loved reading the story of your dad Velda.... my dad served during WW 11 as well... he was a tailgunner on a B17 believe that was the number a big bird anyway... they ended up getting shot down and ended up interned in Switzerland... got tired of it so walked away... made it home safe and sound,,, :D in the Meridan there was a story Velda you might find interesting...
so pretty much day was spent driving shopping and driving... there is a place here in town that has taco Tuesday box of 3 taco's for 6 so my friend and I met there and got taco's went to her house to eat them then on my way... they are so filling actually 3 could go in together and get two boxes and each have two and would be filled
one item I got was Shadow some more food... a couple of bags ago I got some of what I thought was the same food but they were smaller nuggets... and the next bag of the same flavor was the larger kibble today I noticed that they have little bits for smaller dogs... I have wondered if that was what I got or if perhaps it was miss bagged .... wonder if there would be any problem giving it to Shadow not a big dog but not what I consider a small dog either but he is missing some of his teeth (I think never came in) and he really has to chomp to grind up the food he gets... I might have to look into it more... cause if it was easier for him and he would still be getting the same nutrients I'd get it...
the "star" I saw the two planets but never did see them converge into one sorta couldn't see the rings either what would have been awesome but still was neat to see the two... was going to look tonight but it's cloudy and you all know that was when I was napping... still can say I saw them... have seen some really beautiful photo's
Tina hoping you are feeling better... one word would help better!!!

Karen, I'm jealous you are getting your house fixed. I still haven't heard from either place I talked to.

Didn't do much today. Last night it was cloudy but tonight I could see the planets. I went out with my binoculars and could see them close together. I didn't go back out because it was cold.

Tomorrow I need to go to the feed store. Most places will probably close early on Thursday and I don't want to get caught in the last minute rush.

We are still having crazy weather. Today it got up to 78 but It's suppose to freeze Thursday night.

Tonight was much less fog, so I got to confirm that what I saw through the haze last night, was, in fact, the planets I was looking for! Just my eyes I could see the bright star, and with binoculars I could just see barely Saturns rings and Jupiter was so big. They were quite close. So very neat to experience the wonder of natures beauty. So glad I took the time.
Made a tasty Chicken cordon blu casserole for supper tonight. We really enjoyed it.
Sheila, what is Meridan?
Beth that was an interesting Horoscope!
Stay well everyone.
