Good morning all, drinking coffee by the Christmas Tree lights on this gloomy morning. Hope this will be a good time to dash in the Dollar Tree as soon as they open. I’m in trouble if the weather prediction of clear is wrong for tomorrow. A long ride for a Tuesday Sam’s pickup order. Need to dress and dash. Be safe

It's gloomy here too but the rain is gone. I checked the thermostat last night before I went to bed to make sure the heat was on. I forgot that when I switch from cool to heat the temperature goes to 65. It was cool in here this morning.
Someone at the campout had a cute toy flamingo with a long neck that moved. It came from one of the dollar stores but I never did find out which one.
My neighbor's roof is being changed today. I stayed home all week because someone was suppose to come look at mine and never heard from him. I have talked to two companies and I'm going with the first one that shows up.
I reported my phone out on line yesterday. I got a message this morning wanting me to check it myself. Did that already and no signal at the pole. My appointment is Friday.
Need to quit drinking coffee and get dressed.

Good morning Sherl, Martha, and all who follow from rainy trying to snow CT. I’ve been out already this morning to post some more cards and to buy a few things. I bought an electric cockscrew wine set for my son. It’s really for me. I can no longer press down the levers on my rabbit, I bought so many years ago.... he can use that when I take the electric one on the road.... that’s it Enjoy today. Peggy

Good Morning, nice little rain showers here this morning. Tina, hopping you continue to make progress on eating and drinking. Appreciate the info received from Liz, via Dennis.
I thought my Christmas cactus was dead. However, daughter kept watering it. Now it has several buds ready to bloom. Love that cactus.

Just after noon here on a gloomy day! We had a bit of snow but the little bit we had is pretty much melted. The reports for Wednesday into Thursday is sounding like a heavy snowfall. I’m as ready as I can be...snowblower ran when I tested it Saturday so I should be good. My neighbors are away so I told them I’d shovel or snowblow their sidewalk too. Her folks are in and out but as long as I have the blower out I’ll do theirs too. We tend to do that with shoveling and lawn mowing. Nice neighbors to have. The church across from me put up their nativity scene yesterday. It’s something they do every year and I was beginning to think they might not do it this year. Seemed like it was a bit later then normal or maybe it was just me. Some normalcy at least! Liz, thanks for the update on Tina. Glad she’s making progress. I still haven’t made my cookies! It’s been one thing after another and I kinda put baking at the bottom of the priority list! Irmi, your casita is going to be so nice. Karen, loved the pictures of your new home. Beth, hoping things start working out for you. At least you aren’t dealing with the old manager. It must be so frustrating for you dealing with it all. I finally got a doggie step for Rascal and am trying to get him to use it. He’s just not sure of it. I had to have a friend put it together, the directions totally did me in and I’m usually pretty good at putting things together. He said the written directions weren’t good so he followed the pictures! Kinda embarrassing that I couldn’t figure it out. So that’s about all the news from here. Just listened to the weather channel and seems like the closer we get to Wednesday the higher the snow total goes! Here comes winter! Have a good day and stay safe.

Good morning/afternoon, everyone. Cloudy day with fog here. Not going out, so doesn't matter. Mandy and I have been cuddled, reading. Will motivate myself onto treadmill here shortly, then shower and try to get some stuff done. Rain supposed to return mid week. Had about an inch between Friday night and Sunday. Not even a dent in our need, but it helps. Now we need big storms to pile snow/water storage, in our Sierras!
Hoping to hear good news on Tina soon. She's been through a lot.
Wednesday, I have re-check at eye Dr. I wasn't at all sure they would be open, but got a text yesterday asking me to text yes or no on appointment, to which I texted yes, then another text today reassuring me they are open to care for patients. Be interesting to see how much right eye has improved. I'm still having to remind myself to use artificial tears when my vision seems off, but that fixes it. I think one of my problems is, I've had bad, very nearsighted astigmatic vision, my whole life, so I'm not sure what perfect vision even should seem like. I know I'm seeing really well, but what is perfect vision? Strange question, I know.
Have a good day everyone, I'm headed to treadmill then rebounder.

Good afternoon!
Actually was on a roll and then had to call insurance company to change address on Sling. I'd like to strangle those recordings giving me information I don't need before I can get to a person.
Tried to snow earlier, but forecasted tomorrow - an inch!
Lyn, Christmas cactus is on my list when I get into the apartment!
Sheila, for the most part I've always felt safer in RV parks than I did living alone in a house. I've even left the RV door open overnight in the summer because after dark I didn't realize it was open! I've also found it unlocked from time to time.
Shirl, this is my first year with no Christmas lights. My favorite string has burned out bulbs and can't find replacements - apparently this string isn't universal!
Hoping to see you on here again soon, Tina!
Be safe!

Good afternoon. Drove down south and am now tucked into my hotel. Dropped off a couple of bags of coats and sweaters at the Fire Victims donation center. Saw some pretty sad people in line there. Everything is free to them so I went out of my way to donate it there. They quarantine it for 24 hours then put it up for grabs. Only letting so many in at a time and you can only take so many things at a time. I saw about 40 Fema trailers at the Expo grounds waiting to be put somewhere...........not quite sure where but there are quite a few of them.
Have a doc eye appt on Wednesday and again on Friday then will head back up north. Getting my new toilets, sinks and faucets installed next week. Along with new linoleum for both bathrooms. Thank goodness I will be able to get rid of that ugly carpeting in the bathrooms UGH
Will go over to the storage unit on Thursday and load up my car to take more stuff north. Then will head back home for a while after my eye appt on Friday.
Hoping to hear some positive news from Tina. I know we are all thinking of her.

Peggy, I laughed out loud on your misspelling of corkscrew. Whether you did it or autocorrect did, I'll take all the chuckles I can get. Still giggling now.
Anita those very long messages drive me nuts, also. I always try hitting 0 and sometimes it works. Not as often as it used to though.
Nice neighbors are great no matter where we live. I'm glad you have some, Sharon.
I survived opening shift today. 3 of my next 4 are the same. Since we're working with a minimum crew and I'm working on getting rid of/organizing merchandise, etc, the day went very fast. I'd have loved a nap when I got home, but I know me and then I wouldn't sleep tonight. Ty wasn't thrilled I left so early, but he was ecstatic for a good walk in daylight when I got home.

Beth, I had to go back and read Peggy's post, even though I read it earlier in the day. Peggy, thanks for the cackle! Lol! This is one of the reasons I love coming here (between Shirl, Martha and most of you).

I had to reread Peggy's post too. lol I hate the auto correct. I don't pay attention to what I'm typing and sometimes it puts things that don't make sense.
I found out today that someone I know had covid and recovered. That's the first person I know personally. Then someone I worked with posted the obituary of a lady we worked with. She had a stroke and was in a nursing home and caught covid. She was 10 years younger than I am.
I also found out my best friend's husband has a tumor on his kidney and they are going to remove it. Harold went through that many years ago except they found his tumor by accident. They were doing scans to put stents around his heart and found the tumor on his kidney. It was early enough that he didn't have to have cancer treatments.
I sure hope the vaccines for covid work and we can get past this nightmare.

glad I am not the only one to scroll up and see what was written as I read it corkscrew yep a good chuckle...
Judi did you ever hear if you can just stay there where ever there is??? hope so that way you will be close to your son for a spell...
Anita usually I feel very safe out here it's just when something like that happens that I feel unsafe for a brief period of time... and I have woke up finding the door unlocked as well
I think it is Ava that said she never locks it as it's hard for some one to get it unlocked in case of an emergency or something like that
speaking of Ava haven't seen much of her recently not even on FB occasionally but not much hope all is well with her
Thinking of you Tina hope food is starting to taste good... and that you are feeling better day by day
got lights on the tree ( it's a pre-lite but I still like a couple of strands of lights so put them one) my specialty type ornaments old word santa's and some other's tomorrow will finish it I could have today but (get this for an excuse) Shadow hadn't settled down for his daily nap which usually lasts for a very long time... and I felt that it was my moving around disturbing his space that was affecting him so I settled down read scriptures and the rest of that book... he is sleeping the sleep of a baby...
it's tiring I guess not seeing well nor hearing well...
my dd is getting a new tattoo or perhaps one worked on I've never understood this one on her back ... but I think it is the giving tree... Larry used to read that book or at least the kids associate to him... and I think that is what she is having worked on... I don't like tat's!!! however she has a reason for everyone of hers... anyway in an old Reader's digest there was a section that was question's asked of Mother Goose and one of the questions was from tree talking about how he really loved the little boy gave him his all was it asking too much for a thank you? it was quite funny and knew that dd would get a laugh out of it...
well I ought to stop play a couple of games of forty thieves enjoy that game even though I rarely if ever get to the second level and the third never
you all have a good day
Beth glad things are working out better for you although part of me was hoping you would come camp in my yard... it's pretty lonely

Bay Area is holding its own on ICU beds. It was 16.9 on Friday and actually got better today and is now at 17.8% which is good. If it goes below 15%, they give 48 hours to close things. This county fairgrounds campground has a 28-day limit, so I am hoping to stay through Dec 28. Right now, Napa County has 30% available beds, but part of that is because they opened a hospital near Yountville that had been closed because of the fires this past summer.
One interesting thing is that the governor said overnight camping would be forbidden during the shutdown, but not "long-term camping" whatever that means!!
Napa County EXPO is a very nice, but expensive, RV park, and the county people are arguing with the state and county that this is an RV park, not a campground, because they do not allow locals to stay here. They are saying the purpose of the RV park is to provide a place for tourists to stay and visit wineries and restaurants, hence making money for county businesses. It is within 3-4 blocks of downtown Napa, so walkable. They also do not allow tents or even popups that are not self-contained. So, no big family groups, etc. and I don't think I have ever seen more than one child here. I stay here because it is really the only place near here, and my son lives less than a mile from here, so it is very convenient. No campfires allowed, either, so it really is an adult place. I can also easily ride my bike to stores and even doctors' appointments in the past. Sites are paved and huge with nice landscaping around them, even though we are located next to the cow barns!! (My grandkids were friends with two kids whose grandmother took reservations and lived in a house on the grounds, so they attended a birthday party with games in the barns one year.)
Anyway, I am trying to get all my last minute Christmas things done, like mailing two packages this morning and mailing another one on Wednesday. If I have to leave, we'll celebrate Christmas early, and I'll head to Nevada. Not any better there, virus-wise, but at least the campgrounds are open, and I will stay very far away from Las Vegas, which is a hotspot.
