Good morning Shirl and Everybody from a gray rainy CT. I put the Indian pudding in the oven to bake at a very low temperature for three and a half hours. It should be done about 9:30 and then the turkey goes in. It will be awhile before we eat. I’m drinking coffee and eying the pecan pie. Would it be so bad if I had my pie for breakfast????
Tina, thinking about you and wishing you well. Stay strong everybody and be thankful. Peggy

good Morning to All - I was surprised to see it is Thanksgiving. With all the traveling, precautions, and no Internet for a week I forgot what day it was. Hope everyone has a delicious meal and a safe and sane day. We are now in Mazatlan, where I am surprised to say things are pretty calm. The safety precautions at the few places we've gone are much more stringent then in the states. Went to grocery store - temp taken, hands squirted with sanitizer, mask checked, walk through sanitizer before being allowed inside. One door for going in another door to leave. Arrows directing traffic in aisles and six foot apart dots. Everyone was wearing masks. However outside only about 2/3 of people wearing masks. We have eaten in a restaurant, open air, tables way apart and usually only one or two other people there. Waiters wear masks and face shields. Menus sanitized after every use as are tables and condiments. A lot of public buildings are closed. We are being as careful here as we were in Vegas. Probably more so.
The Internet tech had to come in the RV yesterday, we all had on masks, he only touched what he had to and we sprayed Lysol over everything when he left. Only one person we know here has had Covid and they are fine now. According to papers infection rates are low - but ... who really believes the papers.
So we will continue to be careful and enjoy the warm weather - well Bill is enjoying it, me not so much a little too warm and humid for me. But soon will cool down some.
Tina thoughts with you. get well soon.
Stay safe and good travels.
I continue posting about our travels and time here. If we get propane today, I might fix paella for dinner. First time ever we've run out.

Happy Thanksgiving everyone. My favorite part of Thanksgiving is sitting quietly and reflecting over all I have to be thankful for. And even this year, with covid, etc, that list is long. Sometimes we dwell on the wrong things!
Work never slowed down yesterday. Lots of people from a few hours away getting out for a few days. And it's easy to social distance here. Makes the shift go fast. I spent most of the day on the register. Probably a repeat today. The difference today will be the high winds expected.
Carol, there has to be a first, right? That's also something I've never done. Shhhh lol

LOL, Peggy, not so much. I made my "famous"
from-scratch pumpkin pie (from pumpkins I grew in my back yard last summer). The pie was cooling in the fridge.
About 2:00 a.m. (yep, a.m. ) I couldn't stand it, got up out of bed and had me a big ol' slice. Oh my. MAJOR yum. Even if I do say so myself.
HAPPY THANKSGIVING EVERYONE!!
I am majorly thankful for this forum!!
Tina, sending good and healing thoughts your way.

Enjoying a quiet morning here too. Emma and I will just be hanging out here at home. Going to make scallops for dinner and a green salad. I had turkey yesterday with my neighbor. Turkey isnt my favorite meal so I was happy to only have to eat it once a year LOL and I had no mess or worries where to store the leftovers lol
I bought a soundbar last time I was up at Laura's and a couple weeks ago tried to hook it up and it just wouldnt work. So today I took it out of time out, hooked it up to the other tv and voila....it decided to work. I have the biggest mess of wires now, so next week when my tv stand is delivered I will sort them out. I have my tv, cable box, soundbar, router, modem, and module for my security cameras...............oh good lord. I have some velcro wraps so once the stand gets here these will certainly be organized. I havent even tried yet as will have to unhook things anyway to put them on the shelves.
Like Beth I have also been reflecting on life's happenings. I do have so much to be thankful for and I learned a long time ago I cannot dwell on what is past. I am in a new town, new house, new neighbors but I have a home in a safe area, so far escaped Covid, have great friends, my faithful pup Emma and all of you. Home is just what you make of it. I will miss so many of my old friends and acquaintances but I will make new ones and it isn't that far to visit with some of them. I am 107 miles closer to my BFF Laura so I know we will see more of each other in the future. She is now about 2 1/2 hours from me. We said we can even meet in Eugene for lunch, shopping, etc it is about an hour + away for both of us. So hoping 2021 is a much better year for so many of us.
HAPPY THANKSGIVING TO YOU ALL

Happy Thanksgiving, everyone!
Turkey's in the oven. This is the first year I'm not using a turkey bag to cook it in. DIL did it this way 2 years ago & it was wonderful. Hope mine is good as hers. Taking a few shortcuts - stove top dressing (mine last year was not so good) & gravy from Costco (worried about not having enough juice from turkey & theirs was excellent for left overs last year).
Celebrated Jordi's 1st birthday yesterday. He is such a happy little guy! Love having him with me nearly every day.
Well, time to take my shower & load up to take everything to son's house.
Hope each of you have a lovely day.
Take care,
Catherine

Good morning gals! And Happy Thanksgiving!
I am still lounging in bed. I need to get up and get the turkey in the oven! I am hoping I don't run out of propane too. I filled it shortly after I bought this place and really haven't used it much since the only thing that takes propane here is my stove and oven and I don't cook or bake much, especially since my oven wasn't usable for the past year until I got the right valve put in a few months ago.
I was thinking about taking a hike in the Indio Badlands behind my park this afternoon, but it looks like the Santa Ana winds already arrived and it will cause a lot of dust and sand to be blowing around out there so doesn't look like a good day to do that. I am sure there will be a nap involved after I eat some turkey tho, so that will replace the hike,
I could always just walk around the park here. Not so much dust in here.
I got an e-mail yesterday that they have opened up the hot tubs here finally! One person at a time which is fine with me. I sure could use that for my sore muscles! I could do that while waiting for my laundry to get done!
***I just got an invite to a neighbor's for dinner this afternoon. I told her I am doing my own dinner but would stop by later to say hi. She and her mom both live here in the park and her mom has lung cancer. I haven't seen either one of them for quite awhile. She has a huge deck overlooking the golf course so social distancing will be easier out there.
Tina, thinking of you and hoping you are feeling better and heal up quickly!
Have a great day and count your blessings!

Peggy, pie for breakfast sounds good. I was looking hard at the cake I made. I didn't want to cut it because I made it for my son.
I usually eat off of a saucer and made the mistake of eating a plate full. I am still stuffed. I sent most of the food home with my son. I kept some turkey to make sandwiches. I like turkey sandwiches with cranberry sauce.
Cathrine, your grandson looks like a rascal. Love that smile.
Hope everyone had a happy Thanksgiving.
Martha

Got my turkey cooked. Was really easy to do. Not sure I like the results tho. It tastes OK but not like most turkey I have had. Gravy didn't taste as good either. I had two helpings of everything anyways. Got leftovers which I will work on this weekend.
I went later to visit my neighbors. The mom who has cancer looks good, much better than the last time I saw her. I was surprised that I was the only one wearing a mask. The daughter's boyfriend was there too. I did stay for pie and a little conversation but then the sun was setting, and with the high winds, it was getting chilly out on their deck, so I headed back to my house. Now just watching TV with my faux fireplace going to make it cozy in here.
I got the results of my blood test sent to me via e-mail yesterday. My D3 levels are way down, my estrogen levels are way down, and a lot of things dealing with my kidneys are way low, with glucose levels up to pre-diabetes levels.
That is a real concern. Will have to look into that with my doctor for sure. I am ordering a D3/K2 suppliment from Amazon. I was just talking with a customer yesterday who was telling me how important D3 is for the immune system especially with the virus going around.
Hope you all got your fill of turkey or other good food!

I know I really need to cut out the sugar and carbs. I have considered the Keto diet.
