Will find out who to complain to this morning about this. Then I have to figure out (again) my dental and health insurance. Got some stuff in the mail but it is even more confusing so need to make some phone calls about that. Then pay bills, renew my cosmo license, and take a nap.

Hope you all have a better day than mine! :D

What happened to your tree? Wind or did someone butcher it?

Wow, it's horrible what they did to that tree! So sorry that happened. Hopefully it will grow back in spring.
I have Curves soon but am laying here with first eye drops in, waiting for time to do second.
Wind is supposed to be heavier today, hopefully less than predicted and hopefully no fire starts.
So weird to wake to no moving ceiling fan in my room. It's a beautiful Casablanca fan , made while it was still the original company owners, before it was sold to China. It's the quietist fan in the house, and I have one in each bedroom and one in living room, plus 2 over downstairs back patio (those two are only on when we use patio, while tne others run all the time). Mel always liked moving air ESP as he slept, and I turned off the bedroom fan when he died, but found I missed it, so it's always there stirring the air on a low speed.
Have a good wednesday !

Afternoon, rain is gone and a nice day. Got the senior flu vaccine yesterday and think It was more potent this year. Sore and hot at injection site also have felt very irritated. Could be my age but be aware. Barbie, think your manager should step in and straighten out the know it all. Thats what she gets the big bucks for. Lol. Martha, hope the power is on soon. Hard to believe how they can restore power with the mangled mess we see on tv. I’m sure it isn’t soon enough for the people living in the devastated areas. Karen, always glad to see you post of the progress. I’m still feeling out of sorts, too early for wine think I will eat more chocolate. Be safe

Barbie, I don’t think those guys had a clue what they were doing.

That’s really a mess Barbie. It’ll come back although it will take some time. It will sprout all along those branches. I don’t blame you for being upset especially when you need it for shade in your hot temps. Something similar happened to a London Plane tree on my street and the owner was furious. It’s amazing though how it’s already filling in and on its way back to being a beautiful tree.

Hi Barbie.

Geez Louise, it looks like these guys had some kind of axe to grind, and were taking it out on this poor tree! What a butcher job!!

I would be a bit concerned about this tree, especially in your climate. Generally speaking, willows favor climates with higher moisture, and ample ground water. I don't think you have that there where you are. Especially worrisome are the big "wounds" in the trunk, where it almost looks like a large branch was just ripped off, rather than being cleanly cut away.

You, or your Homeowner's association, might want to think about calling out an arborist to evaluate the condition of this tree. It might not make it - and if it doesn't, it might come down on your house without warning.

Sorry this happened to you. :(

Anne

Wow Barbie! They did butcher that tree. Definately did not know what they were doing.

Is the tree on your actual property? Neighbors? Easement? If you only lease the property or it's on someone else's actual property,, you may not have any say in the matter. Such a shame.

The parks tree trimmers did that. I own my land around my house but the tree is on common property so it isn't mine per se. They went way too far with "trimming" and did a very unprofessional job with what they did.

The tree is a California Pepper Tree which is common in southern CA. It might fill in but nothing like it was before. So many large limbs were taken that would take years to grow back. I don't understand why there are several that look like they were ripped off the tree rather than cut. Looks like a tornado hit it.

I emailed the GM of the park and she talked to the head guy of landscaping. She said she had the same thing happen to a large tree in her front yard so I imagine the guy got a talking to.

I took my nap first since I was so riled up. Now for lunch and at least get my bills paid. Almost 3pm already!

Sue, I would write a letter to the homeowner's association and demand an arborist come in to prevent the tree from dying, based on the large cuts or "rips." You also should say that this damage has substantially lowered your property value, and you want to be compensated!!

I did some cleaning out of another basement area, and I also dumped my tanks today, but I am really exhausted. In this altitude I get really out of breath, and the big problem is that I am headed to Grand Canyon South RIm for 5 days, and it is at 7,000'. I passed my pulmonary tests last November so I don't know what my problem is.

As soon as it gets shady, I will go out and work on one more basement area.

Barbie, even if he wanted to be nice and talk to you about another method, he has no place doing it in front of your customer. And obviously he knows nothing. Have you talked to your boss? This needs to be addressed. And talk about a butcher job on that tree. Yikes.

I've never seen temps in the 90’s in Benson in October. But I'll be seeing low to mid 90's for at least my first 5 days back. The only saving grace is lows will be in the 50's. This is the summer that never wants to end.

Judy, I'm hoping to completely empty out my rv and clean inside from top to bottom. The walls and ceiling and everything else. I'm not looking forward to it, but I can't get rid of the dust. I'll have to do a section at a time, starting with the bed area... As I intend to wash bedding almost immediately, so makes sense to get that done. Maybe I'll get rid of clothes I never wear.

I told myself no Walmart docking this trip, but I drove past two places I had on my list, and just felt like getting further. Now tomorrow won't be as long, and this Walmart called my name lol

The summer that never wants to end? I can definitely relate. It was 102 here at my house today at about 2:00p.m.

Yuck.

Just told my manager about my coworker. She totally agreed with me that his actions were unprofessional, undermined my professionalism and is totally unacceptable.

I also told her about an argument we had when I was closing out the drawer last night. He insisted that I not include the change in with the bank deposit and round it down to the next dollar. I told him that is not right and makes the drawer off. He got pretty testy about it and was insisting I do it his way. I told him I have years of accounting experience and that is never done. I did it the right way and told him I would ask my manager if she was OK with what he told me. He said he has told everyone else there to do it that way too. Well, she was really unhappy to hear about that! I am sure he will get a long talking to.

I don't like guys who are know-it-alls and pushy. I keep being reminded of why I am single!

I would share my cold weather with you all if you would share your heat with us  cold enough that heat is on ought to go turn off the furnace and just let the buddy do it's job... but let it get down to 60 so perhaps both is needed for a few moments just need to be mindful of the fact that I don't have lots of propane... oh furnace just turned off... for here it's not been that cold... not had the water hose freeze ...yet!!! and the winds have died down.... I have 3 bins two for bird seed and 1 for whatever bird related...because the bin was light weight and it had been windy when I filled the feeders I put a rock on it just cause.... this morning all lids were gone the one with a rock on it guess it got tipped enough the rock fell off and the lids went were ever lids blow too... one I did find but the corner was broke so really not much good at keeping moisture out of the bird seed... :o so when I got the propane went to family dollar and bought another bin... I will replace the other one down in AZ... if I was out of sunflower seed would have just let it go but not so that is taken care of... stopped at Ace's to see if they had a higher step stool so perhaps I can reach some things better... but the ones they had the weight limit was lower than I needed  ...
went through a couple of things from the storage unit one will go back the other not sure what I will do with it the top has written on it need to decide still do... hate just tossing stuff but that maybe what will happen..and got some stuff picked up.. and a load of clothes that I've ignored folded and in drawers... tomorrow won't have a trip to town so possibly will accomplish more than I did today... think Friday will make the cinnamon rolls that I was informed the other day that I hadn't made this summer and that I needed to do... :o I told them no one asked for them they said it was a given... maybe but my granddaughter made cinnamon rolls that were pretty good so thought I'd been replaced...
hope we don't have the winds that we did last night sure made the trailer rock
you all have a good day
down to my last 4 rows on the baby's afghan so it will be finished tonight unless I decide it needs a single row of crochet to match the bottom... if so it still may be done tonight... it's just after 9 four rows takes me about 1 hour and 20 min...
I couldn't believe the way they cut that tree... don't know what they were thinking
Martha glad you home what type of generator are you thinking of for the home or the motor home?
I personally wouldn't go with Harbor Freight though
