Rainy Monday

Morning All, a good pj day on the shore. Coffee is hot, baked an apple, pecan loaf and always plenty of eggs. No stimulating conversation yesterday but it was certainly blue words in my kitchen. Measured out the ingredients for apple loaf like a good chef and couldn’t find the hand mixer. Been in this apartment almost two years and guess I haven’t needed a mixer. Looked and cussed for 20 minutes but no mixer. Guess it was left at the house and got thrown away with the renovation. Stirred by hand and loaf is a little dense. :D Not much of an apple taste so will save my calories for an apple pie. Karen thanks for meatloaf advice, Barbie glad your home. Martha, good news your home is ok. Tomorrow getting a flu shot at Walgreens if they have the senior dose. Be safe

Shirlv, let me know when the apple pie is ready. Apple pies are one of those items that I am willing to give aways my calorie numbers for!

The road trek did well at the dog show. Jane when reserve winner to her sister Saturday and Sunday managed to come out Winner's Bitch and Best of Winners for her first points and her first major winner. Dogs/bitches need to pull down two major wins, which are winners with points of 3,4,5 based on the entry over which they win. She was a happy girl and received several nice complements.

Next week's show is only 20 minutes up the road so no over night camping. Several friends are coming to take over the bed in the spare room and the couch in my office. This will be the first inside show we have attended. We have reserved grooming with electric inside the building but no hair dryers are permitted. That would work fine if we had "wash cloth" dogs but English Cockers are usually shown with their flowy, fluffy ear and leg furnishings..... If the weather is too cold for use to groom outside with our generators, we may be grooming here at the house and then heading up the road.

Shirlv, if it wasn't for the conversations with the dogs I would have very quiet days.

Tina, I know nothing about dog shows but I’m open to learning and love hearing about your Roadtrek. My world is very narrow now and the pandemic has made it more so. Today I have to gear up to take the &$#%# trash to the dumpster.
P.S.I buy half an apple pie at the local farm store and it is wonderful and freezes well. Their cinnamon raisin scones are to die for and also freeze well. Those farmers wives know how to bake

Good morning Everybody,
Shirl, it’s rainy here too.
Martha, so glad your house weathered the Delta storm. You’ve had a rough hurricane season.

I need help finding parts my Cuisinart food processors, the big DLC-7P and the mini DLC-1. I seem to be outliving my workhorse appliances and of course they have been discontinued! So, all you friends across this country who like to thrift shop and go to yard sales, please be on the lookout for a cover (part#DLC 017) for the large processor and a blade ((part#DLC-196ATX) for the mini. I will be so grateful if you can find the large cover.

Enjoy today. Peggy

Sitting here at work with no AC. Already 80 in here. The guy is supposed to be here in a couple hours to fix it. I sure hope so! It will be a long miserable day if not.

Lola stayed close to me last night. She sure got spoiled by the chicken my sitter gave to her. That is all she wants now.

Weather permitting and my body willing I'm going to do longer drives the next few days. I deliberately stopped earlier today because I have a campsite with electric and there's access to water and a dump station all for a whopping $10. So before leaving in the morning I can dump and refill my water. Ty is a good traveler but, like me, prefers shorter days. We'll both survive. Or I'll stop more lol.

The storm that came by me last night was bad. High winds, hail, branches down that I had to move to drive out today. The rig was rocking and rolling to put me to sleep. It's when my hearing loss works to my favor. After taking my hearing aids out I wasn't as nervous.

we've had wind here as well but doubt that it was that bad... although when I came home the chair was tipped over and since I washed clothes today I put some bras on the line.. one was on the ground one barely hanging on... I think we had a gust of wind go through...
I actually did something today laundry and dishes didn't get as much done as I should have oh and did get to the grocery store needed milk got more than that .... supper was some soup I bought at Walmart the other day a curry pretty tasty so now my dishes are no longer done
need to go and hang up clothes...
glad you are home Martha and not much damage...
hope the A/C was fixed quickly... how did the A/C at home fair while you were gone Barbie?
be safe on your travels Beth...
it's too bad it's so hard to find parts... my mom has to replace her pellet stove because they can't find a part that I think is about 50 dollars... because it's no longer being built (the brand of Pellet stove making the part obsolete) hope someone is successful for you Peggy
Tina glad all is well with your dog show.
well need to go and hang up clothes and do my 4 rows... finally got a hold of my nephew he leaves tomorrow for Montana for a week at 5 AM so guess I will just leave the afghan at mom's for him to pick up..
I really wanted to see how he likes it.. oh well :?
night all

Finally got the AC fixed at work luckily. There are rumors going around that we may get shut down again sometime this week due to increased infections in our county. Will know tomorrow one way or another.

If there was some wind tonight, I would open my bedroom windows since it will be in the low 70's overnight, but not even a whisper of a breeze out there.

There are unofficial ballot boxes popping up around California. They are warning people not to use them due to possible voter fraud. I got my ballot while I was gone. Will fill it out this week and take it to an official box. Lots of propositions to vote on here too so I need to look into those to find out what they are about.

Very tired today and a sore back as well. Off to bed soon. I got a few Gunsmoke episodes watched tonight. I was going thru withdrawals while in Oregon since Candiss didn't have her TV hooked up to Cable yet, or have wifi. I can't get on FB from my new phone since I can't remember my password. Also had issues with my old GPS on the way to Oregon. I think it had been out in the heat for too long. Just started acting up, no voice instructions anymore, didn't recognize some towns, etc. I have my new one but didn't want to take that with me on the trip. Will have to figure out how to use that one so I can use that for future trips.

Good night!

I have grown to like using my google directions on my phone. Even when I drove the taller rig, it wasn't that hard for me to judge which roads and bridges I shouldn't drive on. Now of course, I don't have to worry about that at all. I like is because she will tell me when there are issues and accident/delays up ahead and either automatically route me around them or give me how many minutes difference it will make and I get to chose...... Tina (Besides I gave her an British accent, just to make me smile)
