Morning All, just dropping in to open the kitchen. Better get your coffee to go because traffic is building on the shore. House chores on the schedule for today. Maybe find an interesting recipe to try. Be safe

Velda, good news. I didn't want to get moving this morning, but did and am at my sister's. Taking a break now until dinner. Ty was running in their yard like a banshee and my bil put out his hands to play (even though I'd told them not to. Ty doesn't bite, but he has very sharp teeth and will, unintentionally, scrape. I'm sure it'll be my fault that my bil got a scrape.
I'm not a napper... Would want to sleep until morning. Ty is out!

Made it to Laura's house, easy drive. WOW it was like Christmas when I arrived she had lots of goodies for me. You all are so generous. It is incredible how we will be talking about something and I say "I have that", then I remember NOPE not anymore. It is a weird feeling to realize you have lost everything. I keep remembering little things I dont have anymore. I will be happy to be able to start buying things for a new house eventually. Bought some stamps so time to get busy with my mailings. Will be looking at a few homes I have lined up. My hotel is fine for now but I really want to get settled somewhere soon.
Hoping Barbie has a good drive up here. Will be trying to get a meeting with her while she is here. No smoke today in the valley so that will help with my allergies. Sending good wishes for Velda to have successful eye surgery this time.
Thanks again everyone for your amazing support.

Sheila, I don't know how far it is from the house to your trailer but you need to get some of the motion activated solar lights. I have them on my carport and around the house. I am forever heading out without a flashlight too.

Sorry, but i keep posting late. Speaking of allergies--i have had allergies to carbon-based things like diesel exhaust, some cleaning fluids, dust, dogs, cigarette smoke, etc. It started when I worked in the admin building of a large transmission factory in the 1980s, where I had to cut through the plant to get to some offices, particularly the engineering offices. (There was a constant oil fog of what they called "cutting oil" in this large plant, and I discovered myself coughing when I went to other factories over the 1990s where they used the same stuff to lubricate machinery. I remember in one steering gear plant, teaching a technical writing class in a portable building outside but having to race into the plant to find a ladies room, trying to hold my breath to avoid the chemicals.) At one point I was diagnosed with asthma, but then was told it was really just nonstop sinus drainage. I used to do so much coughing and throat clearing that my work-mates said they could hear me coming in a very large and crowded office.
But for most of 2018-20, and after my CLL treatment, I was pretty much cough free. Don't know what cause was and doctor does not know either. However, I got re-sensitized a couple of months ago when I was in a smoky area of eastern Washington and Oregon, so I am back to throat clearing and coughing. I called my doctor in Ohio a couple of weeks ago and got fresh inhalers, but am still coughing, which is very irritating. Guess I will have to find an allergist when I get to Napa.
Left Bryce because of problems keeping my laptop charged with limited generator hours, but ordered a 12 volt charger from HP. It is supposed to be shipped to a FedEx shipping center in St George, the nearest big city to Zion National Park. Just hope it gets delivered and held for me OK. That will enable me to plug my laptop into my coach batteries and charge it from those, so I won't have to worry so much about having power where I camp. Had one for my old computer, but it does not work on this new one.
Glad your eye is better, Velda. I was going to tell you to ask if they had drops for the pain. Don't know how you can drive with it hurting.

Good evening gals, from Santa Nella, CA.
We got a late start today. I was hoping we would be on the road by 9am but several issues came up (one being we bought 3 different locks for the truck latch before we got one that worked and fit thru the wide latch). I lost my glasses for awhile and forgot a few things at my house that I had to go back to get (while we were still loading "last minute stuff" in to the truck at Candiss's house). So we didn't get on the road until about 11:30. The truck rides like...well...a truck! Very bumpy and loud. The noise is wind noise, almost like a window is open but isn't. But after 7 hours of driving, we made it to our first destination. There was some smoke most of the way that made for a very orange glowing sun, but not as bad as I thought it would be. May get worse tho as we head further north. Tomorrow will be less hectic and a shorter driving day to somewhere around Weed, CA near the border of OR.
The dogs were well behaved and slept most of the way. My back hurts a little but I think that is from lifting and moving boxes around yesterday. Candiss was pretty stressed today but hopefully tomorrow will be better for her too.
Velda, glad your eye is doing better.

About my eye. This surgery was to remove scar tissue on the cornea, called epithelial basement membrane dystrophy, bumpy cornea. The specialist can't get a good reas of my RX to see what she can do with PRK, until the cornea is smooth and flat. Once second eye (right) is done next Wednesday and well healed, she will test over a few weeks and determine laser settings for PRK to improve focus that is out of whack. So this week and next Wednesday procedure, was just a set up for the more invasive PRK, in about 8 weeks if the corneas are ready. Dare I say, " We've only just begun" yes you can hum along. So not expecting any noticeable improvement this round, or at least only distortion improvement, but not focus, until PRK is done.
Judy, have you looked at the lithium battery boxes such as Jackery, which will charge either by 110, or 12 volt, or small solar panel, then carries enough juice to charge phone, laptop, etc? Several fulltime ladies have talked about them on their blogs and vlogs. One gal totally functions with a Jackery and a 60 watt portable solar panel, when stationary or charges off coavh when driving.,
