And no morning coffee? I'm now in Iowa on the MN border. The last 30 miles I traveled back roads and had fun listening to Google welcome me to Iowa then back to MN, a couple times lol. It was so nice to be off interstates. But I was picking the fastest route to begin with. Now it's back roads the rest of the way.
I'm in a casino lot next to an Iowa welcome center. I stayed here once before. There are spots for RV's at the welcome center, but they are shared with trucks, so I elected to head across the street to this lot.
I've been streaming episodes of Top Chef. I started with season 1 and got through season 4 last night. I have a feeling it might be the best season. But there are many to go. And I'll watch them all.

No coffee, having a glass of Piñon. It even dresses up hot dogs, beans and fried potatoes. A beautiful day but ocean traffic is building so will be another stay home weekend. I have too much time on my hands so always looking for something to get into. Today received my package from Amazon that contained a messy bun hairpiece that matches my silver hair exactly. So if you see me please don’t tug on my curls because I haven’t gotten the attaching down yet.
I took a selfie and sent it to family who thought it looked good. I will work on it this weekend. Be safe

Shirl, I would like to see that photo of your new hair! I have something like that but have to wait until my hair gets longer.
I am beat! Went to get the UHaul truck this morning. They didn't even clean and sanitize the truck until we asked them to. I resanitized it when I got it back to Candiss's house. We got a few neighbors to help load the truck which made it go faster. It was already over 100 degrees by 9am this morning. 110* this afternoon.
I was getting overheated so I had to keep taking breaks to cool off. At one point I was rearranging stuff in the truck feeling very hot. Then I started feeling chilled so I knew I had to take a break and cool off and drink a lot of water. Luckily the others got the rest of the truck loaded pretty quickly. I got back home and have been getting my stuff packed. I got the AC going full blast in here!
Now I need to eat dinner and finish packing some things, take out the trash and finish cleaning up the kitchen. Will see if Candiss has any last minute boxes to go in the truck tonight. Hoping we can get on the road before 10am tomorrow. Will be a long driving day, about 6 hours, unless we decide to stop sooner. I need to get a good nights sleep tonight!!
Poor Candiss is almost having a nervous breakdown today. I tried to keep her smiling and laughing tho. Her dogs are really nervous so they know something is up. I am sure they can feel her anxiety and stress. Lola will be in good hands with Debbie coming over every day. Lola knows her and likes her.
Time for dinner...

My watch band came loose again so I decided to go to the jewelry store and get it fixed before I lose it. It was too big when I got it and I have been wearing it like that for a long time. Decided to have them take a couple of links out.
I saw something different in town. Someone was going through the Popeyes drive through pulling a gooseneck cattle trailer.
I would have liked to have stayed and watched that.
I wish the drive thru daiquiri place had been open. Sometimes I pick up a frozen margarita to put in the refrigerator. I just drink a little at a time and it lasts several days. It's soon going to be EggNog time again. I still have a container of EggNog in the freezer from last year. I bought a gallon and someone gave me a gallon. I have been defrosting some and using it for coffee creamer. It has Southern Comfort in it. lol
It's going to be a beautiful weekend and I met a few campers headed South to the State Park. I hope they have sprayed for mosquitoes over there. They are terrible here and I'm only about a mile from the park through the woods. The spray truck passed yesterday and I heard the plane last night but they didn't make a dent in them.
Barbie, have a safe trip.

I guess I have to repack my suitcase. The temps in Cottage Grove are taking a nose dive this week. Will be in the 70's and then 60's and then upper 50's for highs by next weekend. I guess shorts won't work too well for those temps. A jacket is in order as well, and I better switch out one pair of sandals for tennis shoes and socks.
Back to repack....
Not that I am complaining. Will be a treat after these god awful temps we are having here yet.

one of my daughter's text me about 5:30 asking if I was going to make fried rice... hmmm actually I thought dd was going to but said I would come up after I took Shadow out and went to the potty room... made fried rice we cleaned it all up...actually tasted really good... got stuff back into my top shelf... and sorta an inventory of what is up there didn't look but felt like I need to get some more cocoa won't be making chocolate cake if I don't...
and worked on the quilt... hopefully it will go quickly... need to find something to help pull the needle through with... I need to a 2 or 3 step folding step stool... be easier than pulling out a chair then getting on the step stool to get on the chair so I can get up to see the interior of that shelf... it's the back I can't reach I can stand on the step (which is the same height as the step stool) and reach what is in front... I put on index cards what is on the shelf so that I know what is up there generally less used items but those that for sure you get rid of and will want it...the stuff in the front is used often
think tomorrow while conference is on will do hand work and in between sessions will try and accomplish something so it will give the appearance of my having done so... also need to go to the store and pick up stuff to take to mom's Sunday didn't make it over on Thurs like we planned on my dd wasn't feeling overly well just a tummy upset..
chilling off need to turn on the buddy or put on jacket or both..
Beth enjoy being with your sister and Barbie have a safe trip
thought of a question I was going to ask now can I think of it? NOPE oh well must not have been important

I am in Bryce Canyon, but leaving tomorrow for Kanab for a couple of days. It is pretty here, but with no power, I am having problems keeping my laptop charged, and I have a lot of work to do online. Also missing TV.
I had a check engine light on for the past two weeks and had not been able to find anyone to work on my motorhome. Too busy, doors to garage too small or too low, don't know how to work on this vehicle, etc. I even had one guy in a small Utah town start to work on it, but then said he was afraid he might not know how to put engine back together again, so stopped. He did put computer on and tell me three cylinders were misfiring.
Amazingly, at the entrance to Bryce Canyon National Park, there is a big auto repair place with BIG garage doors and even a do-it-yourself truck wash! I talked to them on Wednesday, and they ordered parts and worked on it yesterday morning and part of the afternoon!! And even knew what they were doing and could put it back together again. Wow. Put in 10 new spark plugs and five coils, so I am good to go, but $900 poorer. My sons say that was a very fair price, so I am happy. I rode the shuttle and did some sightseeing while it was being serviced, but was glad to get my home back again. Next problem is lack of running and tail lights, but auto place was too busy to work on that because they were short-staffed. I can get RV service place to do that, however. Replaced fuse twice, and it keeps burning out, but I don't drive at night anyway. I do have brake lights, turn signals, and stop lights, so I am safe for now.
Also, if you are wondering about national park shuttles, they took out most of the seats in the shuttles so you have no choice but to sit far apart. Also, driver is surrounded by plexiglass, and passengers enter from rear door and wear masks. Have a person checking for that on the buses. No sit-down food--just takeout, also.
And if you want cold, Anne, it has been 36 each night I have been here and 75-78 during day. Course, being at 7,600' makes it hard to walk uphill or even breathe. I switched out my summer bedding this morning for my winter down stuff!!!

Hrm. . . decisions, decisions. (Anne sits pondering her options).
Well. Sorry, Judy, think I'll stick with breathing. At least for now.

Went back over and had to redo some of the stuff in the truck that the other gals put in there. Unless you have moved a million times like I have, most people don't know how to load a UHaul. Just have a few last minute things to put in the back in the morning before we head out. We need to stop and buy a different lock tho. The one I bought doesn't fit the latch on the truck. The metal latch is too thick to close the lock around.
Just finished repacking, made some cookies to take with tomorrow, and ate them all while watching Gunsmoke.
Oh well...

I'm checking in, with 1 hour left in Friday the 2nd of October. It's been a frustrating day with my left eye very blurry and hurts like a piece of something is in there, but nothing I wasn't told to expect. I did drive today to the grocery a few blocks away by neighborhood streets. Got few things that were out of stock last Tuesday ( both had been on $5 Monday sale the day before and they sold out.). So we have menus planned that son can help with. My better eye will be very blurry after Wednesday surgery, so I for sure won't try to drive,
Very smoky here again with hazardous air quality. Temps still high 90's. Look forward to predicted drop later next week.
Barbie, have a safe trip and wave as you pass Sacramento. Beth, travel safe and enjoy family time. Judy, hope you get those lights fixed.
Forgive any typos, hard to see by this hour.
