Yippee! Woke at 8 to 68 degrees and true grey clouds! AQI only 20! Good air, at last! Hope, hope, we get a little rain, ESP over fires. Sun peeking in and out. Virtual Chef is on duty for made to order omelets, but you have to make your own coffee, as I gave away the coffee pot! Going to be a good day, I hope.
Praying those in the bulls eye for those storms brewing, escape with no flooding or damage.
I'm going to get moving here and finish sorting and loading clothes and stuff for Goodwill. My Curves is reopened at partial capacity of 5 of us working out every 30 min (usual full capacity is 2-3 times that when busy). And i have a 5:30 pm time slot. Not my favorite time, but ill take what i can for now. Hope numbers continue to go down for virus in our county so we can get back to full activity. I know my fellow Curves sisters are chomping at the bit to get back to lively routines.
Hopefully Barbara, these weather changes will make your trip easier when it happens.
Beth, you are on your count down now to closing and wrapping up before your journey south begins.
Have a good day everyone!

Good morning Velda. Yes, I am really hoping things are much better by the time we leave in two weeks. It will help with the stress level for both of us. I was talking to a mutual friend of ours, Debbie, yesterday and she said she was really worried about Candiss' mental and physical health last week too, and was really relieved that we decided to wait a few weeks.

I finished her gourd yesterday and posted it on the Craft thread. I think I will give it to her before we leave.

I discovered that there are quite a few people here in the park that are having issues with their AC's turning off or not working lately. I am thinking now it is a park issue more than an individual AC issue. Both Candiss and Debbie had their AC's quit yesterday too.

The Snow Fire here in Palm Springs that started late yesterday is now at 2500 acres and heading up the mountainside. That smoke will be heading this way across the valley. Just read that one firefighter died while working on the El Dorado Fire that is still burning north of here. So sad! That fire is 64% contained. The Bobcat Fire north of Los Angeles is still raging out of control at 60,000 acres and only 15% contained. Our humidity levels out here are only 5% so it is extremely dry and now windy.

No plans for today. I might start on the cat gourd. That will require molding a cat face and ears with a wood putty and also mouse ears, nose and tail out of the same stuff. A new experience for me so will see how it goes. I have lots of putty so I can experiment and play with it first. That will go to Debbie for cat sitting for me. She has an orange cat (who is meaner than hell! ) so this cat will be orange. I gave Debbie a haircut yesterday and she paid me $50 for it! I only ask for $15. Her husband Dave is the one who helps me out a lot around here. They are super nice people and my age.

OK, I am rambling...Lola is bugging me for food. She found a space between two pieces of kibble where she can see the bottom of the dish and thinks she is about to starve to death!

Barbara, I laugh at your stories re Lola and food. Our Siamese would arrive at her dish, whether she had just nibbled 10 min ago or several hours ago, deem it I edible and if you didn't catch her, tne entire dish of food went to tne floor. We had a diabetic cat and the Siamese ate up on counter to deter Mr Lazy from eating everyone else's food. Princess loved to shove off anything she could but ESP a food dish she deemed not fresh enough!

Velda, that is funny! Cats are so goofy!

I lightened up the "RCB" letters on the gourd with a gold pen and looks much better, more subtle. I decided to give it to Candiss today and she loved it!

So sad about the death of Ruth Bader Ginsburg. She was an amazing woman! She will be greatly missed.

When I got home from Candiss's place, both AC units were shut off again. The house temp was 93. I hope it can get fixed before I leave for OR. Hopefully, it will be cooler here by then so if it does shut off, it won't get too hot in here for Lola before my cat sitter comes by and can turn them back on.

It was really hot here again today. Was supposed to be cooler but that got delayed by a day or so. The winds that were supposed to bring in the cooler air is taking it's time. The good news tho is that we didn't get the smoke blowing across the valley yet either. The Snow Fire is at 4500 acres now. :(

Back to work tomorrow for a short day and then 4 days off. Things are slower now so they only have 2 stylists on for the whole day which means less hours. Will report the shortened hours with EDD and see if they pay anything for the hours I am not getting now.

I didn't do much today, yet I am really tired tonight. If it wasn't only 7:40pm, I would head off to bed now. Someone here mentioned buying Panera soups at Walmart. I do that too. I love their soups! I had the broccoli cheddar soup for dinner tonight. Their mac and cheese is really good too. We have a new Panera going up just a mile from me. Should be opening soon.

Have a good night :D

I have problems with Frosty's diet. The vet has him on a prescription canned food. I can only get him to eat about a half a small can in the morning and at night. If I give him a whole can at one time when he's through eating he won't touch the leftovers. If I try to give them to him he starts scratching around the bowl like he's trying to cover up a pile of poop. 'The other cats are glad to eat his food so I have to lock him in the bathroom.

Barbie, I hope you can get your air conditioner problem figured out. I would be afraid to leave Lola unless it cools off a lot.

Yesterday while I was at Walmart they announced that there were 2 pharmacists in the store just to give flu shots. I took that as a sign that I should get my flu shot. I also got the first pneumonia shot. I have never had a problem with a flu shot but the pharmacist said my arm might be sore from the Pneumonia shot. I told him to put the flu shot in my right arm and the pneumonia shot in my left arm. Today it's my right arm that feels warm and hurts. I wonder if he got them mixed upl.

I didn't do much today except haul stuff out of the old house. I already have the trash can half full. The truck that picks up big stuff passed and picked up what I had by the side of the road. It has been very gray all day. If I looked at the radar it showed that it should have been raining here but it never did. The high was only 84 They don't know what the storm in the gulf is going to do except wander around. It could come to Louisiana next week when I want to leave.

I will have to see if our Walmart has Panera soup. I had tried some of the Lobster Bisque Walmart sells and it was not good.
