Good morning and the west is still in flames. May we all find our way through these days.

I posted the information that Laura shared with me in the Member's Only Room. Anyone interested to assisting Karen can go there......

(PS: I found the password safely hidden in the PM that I received from Beth after the room was first created. Just incase someone else didn't write it down two years ago....)

Thank you Tina and Laura for setting that up.

I was pleasantly shocked at how cool it was when I stepped outside this morning! There is a little hazey smoke along the mountains, but otherwise clear.

Nothing else too exciting here. Have a good and safe day :D

Tuesday morning I got up to no electricity went out we were told about 3:30 AM the winds where so heavy tree limbs down amazing what the wind can do .... the gusts according to the signage on the freeway was going to be up to 70 MPH in some areas :o don't know what it was through here but did a lot of damage finally got power about 6:00 PM tonight (Thursday) so haven't been on tried to limit my FB time cause one never knew when a charge could be made and I don't have the forum on my phone will need to fix that soon...did know about Karen and her loss of her home so sorry for that fortunately Karen and Emma are safe. that is the main thing... my granddaughter was scheduled for some sore of a procedure on Tues to take out the stone that had escaped and settled near the liver needed a specialist to round it up and get it out... so that was set for Tuesday because my dd had taken time off from work (she is a teacher) it was determined that her dad would take her (she even stayed at his house so they could go easier) dd got a phone call with the winds so high he didn't want to take his car as it's higher so dd had to take granddaughters has there was a tree limb (a big one) across the driveway... so she went to SLC (no school in the district due to wide level up outages and hardship of getting kids to schools safely) she counted 10 rigs over turned on her way down and that was on a highway not a freeway... all total 45 rigs overturned ... :? so Weds (we are playing catch up can't you tell???) she put in a call to the doctor as her dd was experiencing lots of heavy pain threw up twice ect sent to ER they called the specialist who said to send her down to them... so back to SLC dd can't stay with her dd even tonight when she had surgery (had been taken back) 7 oclock the visiting hours are over and you must leave... but the gall bladder is out full of odd sizes of stones and some escaped the duct so going to have to go back in and have them removed tomorrow... she must have been hurting so badly... I remember when I had mine removed so many years ago thinking I must have been really sick I feel so good  I think dgd will tell me that as well...
went out to lunch with a friend of mine her and her husband used to go to Q where I met them but his health is such that last year they decided their Q gig was up think it was 30 winters they spent down there... he is the same age as my mom her bday is in Oct his in Dec.
we really need to close take shadow out late enough I probably ought to go to bed and turn out the lights ....
again I am so terribly sorry for Karen losing her home

The winds changed direction today and by this afternoon, the smoke had moved back into our valley and blocked out the sun :( I guess the air quality in LA is really bad now with ash coming down from the fires north of there. At least it was still relatively cool today again.

Was busy at work today so the time went fast. I have tomorrow off. Not sure what my manager was able to do with putting me back on the schedule for this coming week yet. Should know tomorrow.

Sheila, I would think that those truckers would be paying attention to the weather reports and get off the road in those kind of winds. It must be very costly when those blow over, to get them upright and deal with the damage to the truck, trailer, and contents inside.

Just getting settled in bed with Lola for the night...
