Wake Up Wednesday

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Wake Up Wednesday

Postby BirdbyBird » Wed Sep 02, 2020 9:40 am

Here we go again. This is how the days, weeks and months, fly by.

Here in damp Ohio I am heading out to remove some kayaking equipment from the mini van and replace it with dog show "stuff." I am giving myself two day to complete because it may take me that long to remember what I need and where I put equipment away last November. I even have to go into the storage closet and retrieve a couple of dog show suits that fit. I do remember where I put my "running around a ring" shoes. So many details and my mind really doesn't want to think that hard. Lark, Audrey and Jane, don't realize that they are in for another "keep the nails short" party and Jane will need to build up her stamina for standing on a grooming table and getting fussed over. We are expecting sunshine and weather in the 70's for the weekend in Michigan. I can handle that. It is an outside show.

Channel Miss Peggy....wash your hands, wear your mask and follow some sensible guidelines out there. And even if others can't see your simile, you can feel it and it changes your brain.....

It is cool, damp and dreary here in Southern Illinois. I have no ambition to do anything so just sitting at the computer and reading news that upsets me. I need to learn to scroll past some things on Facebook to preserve what sanity I have left.

Tina is your RV still at the shop? I need to take mine in but since I don't use it I keep putting off making an appointment. Emma's trainer is a bit concerned about the weekend show. They will only have access to outdoor porta potties plus a wash up station. They have to go into the building one at a time which meas a long wait outdoors or in their vehicle. Also she is apprehensive about staying in a motel. I suggested she call and ask what the covid policies were and how frequently the rooms are rented. I think some require a couple of days between rentals. Has anyone had any experiences with staying in a motel recently? I offered them my RV but her DH doesn't want to drive it. With my insurance I have to call and have additional drivers approved and added to the policy.

I've been clothes shopping online and have found some rather good sales on the items I needed. I have so few pants that fit my bones I was lucky to find just what I wanted on a good sale. I did get a bit carried away though and bought two new pairs of Birkenstock sandals. But since I wear them pretty much year round I needed them:)

Everyone who is on the road be safe and have fun. Irmi, thinking of you as you head out for your new winter home. Also Beth who will soon be on the road again! Catherine you sound so happy with having your grandchildren with you part of the time,

Still a bit smoky here with high pollen and poor air quality from smoke. Headed to about 90 degrees, weather people indicate, our lowest temp before as much as 108 Sunday. Sure will be glad when weather cools.and I sure hope we get rain this season.
Not much planned here. I had a back spasm last night and not sure why as I hadn't done anything in way of lliftimg or bending, but that's how it goes. A little better this morning and cant go to chiropractor because it interferes with Bowen therapy.
Wish I had camping plans, but none in sight.
Have a good day everyone.

Barely still morning here.

Thanks to everyone for kind comments about my upcoming living plans! Hope some of you will come to visit! There's a KOA across the street or this county park I'm in is 10 miles away.

We are still having some hot days, but I was surprised to see how cool it will start to be by the end of the month - especially at night.

Velda, as you know these anniversaries are hard. Will be thinking of you.
Catherine, the little ones will continue to keep you young!
BJ, I wish I could order clothing online!
Irmi, safe travels headed South!
Tina, back to the dog show circuit. With all this social distancing, that sounds like a great getaway.
Enjoy reading what you who are out and about are doing.

I'm getting a couple getaways this month. Two friends are coming at different times for a couple of nights each. We'll stay at a motel with a balcony overlooking the river.

Everyone be safe.

I was so tired last night! I went to bed just after 9pm and slept sound until 11am today! Wow! I had some really vivid dreams too, that I remembered in full detain when I woke up.

My manager said I did over 20 haircuts yesterday! No wonder my feet and back hurt and I was so exhausted!

I have today off and will work for the next 3 days. Hopefully, it won't be quite so busy or I will be a basketcase by Sunday!! Yesterday, I had planned to walk over to Whole Foods for some pizza for lunch, (love and miss their pizza!!). Luckily, I had also brought some Panera soup with me to work, because my feet told me there was no way in hell I was gonna walk any further than the break room! Will probably bring my lunch again for the next few days.

Need to do a few things today around here, like call San Diego County and get my health insurance stuff straightened out. Maybe get to my laundry too. It is supposed to be a little less humid today I think. I will be so glad when the days start to cool off here! Maybe by the time I get back from Oregon, it will be under 100 for highs.

Am kicking myself once again for not getting much done around here while I had the time. I just have no energy or motivation when I am not working. Once I retire, I will have to stay working part time or volunteer somewhere to keep busy and motivated.

Hope the doggies get to their shows and do well!

Anita, are you going to keep your truck camper and the Slingshot after you settle in?

Irmi, I am sure you two are excited to get to your new place and get settled in there!

Velda, (((hugs))).
Barbie, Romeow, and Sophie, missing Lola! (and lots of ferrets running around in my heart!)

Barbie, the truck camper will be the first thing to go! Then the truck. Thinking Jeep. Slingshot will stay until I see how that works out with cold winters and hot summers.

Sorry I couldn't add to your hair cut count. :D If I'm not walking, my back gives out quickly.

I didn't get much done today either. After a busy day, I usually don't have any energy the next day to do much. I did call SD county and after being on hold for half an hour, I got a lady who took down my new address and would send the info on to Riverside County. I am supposed to call RC in 10 days to see if they have taken care of the transfer. Then call about getting new medical insurance for my county (all still part of ACA for California). What a confusing mess!

Watching Gunsmoke until bedtime.

I was opening and working alone for a seven hour shift today so my two openers could take a 3 day "weekend". For some reason I woke up about 4:30. I stayed in bed but never fell back asleep. Getting ready for work I kept thinking I was hearing water running. I checked everywhere several times and was thinking I was nuts, but went outside and water was steadily coming out under my hot water tank. So I turned off the water to my rig and the hot water tank from heating. I have a mobile repair service I've used here a couple times in previous years who will be coming out on Monday (he works holidays same as any other day). He says if I'm lucky a line is loose or damaged. I hope I'm lucky. Meantime I turned the hot water tank off and I'm staying disconnected and only using water when necessary turning on the water pump. I know I could find my bypass valve to the hot water tank, but he said if it's a line it could be before that, too, so until the problem is definitely found, I'll continue as I am.

Working alone, even staying an hour after Linda got in, I barely started on the grocery order I do Wednesdays. It HAS to be in by 10 on Thursday and I feel better sending it Wed, but this week will be the exception.

Barbie, one reason I workshop is because I need to force myself to stay active. So even after I don't feel I need the money I'll probably continue in one form or another.

Anita, talking about weather... We're supposed to be mid-90's on Saturday then a high in the low 60's Monday followed by a high in the mid-40's Tuesday with a chance of snow flurries! Crazy weather.

Tina and BJ, I hope you can enjoy your dog shows.
