It's 12:05 A.M. and I just yelled "rabbit." So it's my bedtime and hope to hear from lots of you after I get up.

I have 45 minutes before it's the first. If I'm still awake then I'll be able to remember Rabbits this month. If not, it'll be pure luck.
Here's wishing a great new month to everyone.

Thank you Irmi, I remembered rabbits. Please let this be a better month.
Lyn ask about the Red Beans and Rice kit. I think it was Blue Runner brand and I got it at Walmart. All it had was a pound of red beans, pack of rice and dried onions and seasoning. The directions said to cook on high in the slow cooker for 8 hours. I thought that was a long time but 8 hours wasn't long enough. I don't know if the beans were old or what. I wouldn't buy another one. I like Popeye's red beans better.

Thanks for the reminder! I have an hour and 15 minutes before midnight. Hopefully, I will remember!
It was cooler today at 107* but the dew point was 71, which is oppressive!
Will be dryer tomorrow but start warming up more. Got one more month before the nice cooler weather returns!

Twenty minutes to go for me. Think I'll just stay up and say. "rabbits" before I go to bed. Otherwise I always forget.

I said "rabbits!" right at midnight and scared poor Lola right off the bed!

Good morning Everybody. Looks like people were up late last night/ early this morning and said “rabbits” for good luck. Let’s hope September will be a better month for all of us.
Martha, glad to read that your home survived Laura and life is moving on. I still have a 2lb bag of Camellia red kidney beans
and 5 pounds of Cajun Country Rice from my last visit. Of course the secret to red beans and rice is the 18 ingredients creole or Cajun seasoning, and I have several different brands. Why is a Louisiana gal buying a mix at Walmart????
Colleges are opening here in CT and all ready students are contracting CoVid at off campus parties. My niece moved into the dorm last week. I hope she doesn’t get sent home. Some public schools are opening as well and they are looking for substitute teachers at $150,00/day. Hartford is waiting until after Labor Day for the students to return, but I think the teachers are back this week.
Keep smiling behind your mask and keep washing your hands and enjoy today. Peggy

Good morning. Checking in from hot, humid, Florida, but I’m not complaining. I am just thankful for the place I live, the friends I have, and the peace in my heart. I can’t believe it’s September 1st already. Sometimes it seems the days crawl by, but suddenly another week has passed, and then another month.
I pray every day for those who must face and deal with terrible weather, fires, turmoil, and angst. You know from where my peace comes from, so I won’t repeat it.
I’m off to walk Thistle in the fog, then stop by Birdie’s to help her dig some holes for new plants in her butterfly garden.
Let us know what your plans are for the day.

Mornin' ladies~~~
Quick check in from me. I'm officially on the road again. Did a couple of stops in IL, and am now in MO 2 miles from Meramac Caverns. Although I prefer state parks, I'm booking resorts, mostly KOAs, for the time being since they worked with individual states to get open for fulltimers when Covid first hit. COEs seem to be allowing any one also. Already did two of those, and have another booked.
Not sure how much sightseeing may be done this trip, but heading to Texas for now.
Have a good month ladies. Stay safe.

All the Rabbits scattered around the countries Check in today....
Lark did take me kayaking yesterday. She enjoyed her several opportunities to get out of the Sea Eagle and get wet as the river levels are low here in SW Ohio and we got hung up on several of the rocky riffles.... She did not laugh when I fell on my butt once while trying to wade through pulling the kayak to deeper water. Then my smart alec Smart Watch asked if I had had a hard fall and wanted to know if it should send out an SOS. "No, but I sure would like it for you to turn off when I press this little "No" button." I finally got to shore, got out my phone and cancelled that feature. Looking forward to an interesting month as several dog shows have begun to be rescheduled with limited entries and specific precautions in place. Since Jane has never been, she will not know the difference. I expect that Jane and a couple of her siblings will find themselves going head to head. Cindy reminded me that she registered the two she kept with my name added as co-owner and I have her name on Jane's registration so that both of us "win" no matter who stands in front.

Back when I was still showing dogs, every day out of my house, every hour away from my stressful and unhappy home situation was a definite "Win", whether or not I had a ribbon to show for it.
Sometimes I would stay all day, waiting for Group judging, when maybe a friend and fellow competitor might have made it to Group.
I surely did love going to the shows. Seeing all of the dogs, in their myriad shapes, sizes and attitudes, was surely a balm on my soul.
Those were the days. . .

Good morning. We are getting ready to head into a sweltering week. 102 today and 107 on Labor Day UGH I so hate that kind of heat. I just become a hermit. I have to take my car in to get a new part for it on Wednesday BUT it is at 8:30 in the morning so that works for me.
I was ever so proud of myself yesterday I woke up, said Rabbits and thought whew first time in months I remembered. Then turned on the tv and realized August had one more day UGH I said it again this morning but not sure if it was before I talked to Emma, I think it was but whatever.
Need to go outside soon and trim another bush or two. I am trying to trim one or two each day. I love trimming them but I hate picking up and raking and sweeping all the leaves and branches. Then need to take them over to the dumpster. Then need to figure out what I should have for lunch or dinner today. I dont want to go to the store until tomorrow after my car repair but I have plenty of things to fix, just not sure what I am in the mood to eat today.

Good morning to All - For the first time ever I remembered Rabbits - I walked into the dining room and looked out the window at a bunny So RABBITS - still haven't said another word as Bill is sleeping. This month is full of doctors appointments, where I am sure they will insist on even more appointments. Bill is going to have to have work done on one of his eyes - can barely see out of it anymore. Should be easy laser stuff though. My blood pressure is good in left arm but sky high in right - so trip to heart doctor.
We were hoping to get out of town for a week, just to break the cabin fever. Can't find a week where we can do it. At least today is our first day under 100 in 56 days - 98 is the projected high - then back over 100 for a few days and by the weekend over 110 again.
If you have computers etc - remember to back them up.
Safe travels to those lucky enough to be out and about. And stay well to everyone.
Just remembered - I have a face mask that says "I'm smiling under this."

I saw Irmi's rabbits reminder last night, so made sure I still had my eyes open at midnight and proclaimed rabbits over and over. Sure hope it helps!
Today another smoky, poor air quality near 100 day. Ugh! Yesterday I was out to dentist (Look Ma, no cavities), then home to change to soft clothes to head to my Bowen therapy. Drove there and back, then stood outside for a while talking to handyman about projects to come. Had a quiet evening, went to bed, then woke at 04 coughing from tne smoke exposure during my Monday outings! Ended up having to crawl from my comfy bed to take 2 different inhalers. Finally back to sleep close to 05, and slept until 08:30. Someday I'll learn to not stay out in smoke.
We are headed to triple digits again by weekend. Sure hope it cools soon. This has been a very hot summer!
Not much planned rest of week, so hope to get more stuff bagged and out. It gets easier to let go over time.
Saturday will be a tough day, the anniversary of Mel's death. It's been a very long two years and a very quick two years. That feels so strange to me, but the best description. we won't even visit the cemetery as that is close to the biggest fires and smoke, plus Saturday is supposed to be over 100. And boy has it been smoky past few days even more than few before that! Yesterday on way home from dentist, I traveled city streets rather than freeway and was shocked at the number of people, some with their dogs and carrying water bottles, walking, jogging, and biking, in heavy smoke! I kept thinking, what are They thinking! exercise and smoke are not compatible!
I need to go quick to Curves to give them new bank info. Can't recall if I mentioned here, my checking was breeched and $300 taken. They had my checking and routing numbers. Fortunately I caught it and credit union closed that account and gave me all new numbers. What a pain, now have to figure out who really needs new info for established accounts. Bless my CU, they had my $$ back by Monday morning! and neither the CU, nor I, can figure out how it happened , since I had not written a check on that account in a year, it's been used for deposit of my rental income and a few online accounts, nothing else. Could have been way worse had I not caught it.
Have a good September everyone.
