Morning. If you enjoyed imagining Lark and I kayaking yesterday you might enjoy it even more if we actually get out today. Yesterday I just couldn't get my body to cooperate. I did manage to complete the quilted cover for my dog show grooming box. It will protect it from getting banged up while being hauled around in vehicles on the way to and from shows. I also managed to get Jane through her clipping and initially trimming for the shows coming up this next weekend. She just turned 6 months and is ready to start practicing in the big rings. She needs her nails trimmed, along with everyone else's. I try to do that every week but usually only manage to stop and trim them every two weeks.....It is so much easier to do when they are kept short.

Anyway...... it is a nice 70-80 degree cloudy day here in SW Ohio. Great weather for many things. I can promise you that I will not complete many things but hopefully at least a few!

I woke up at 7:00, got dressed and Sugar and I went walking. We both need to do more. There is a heat advisory of 103 today and it's already 85. Hank was easier to walk with, he was on a mission and Sugar wants to smell every thing we pass. She found a pile of unknown poop and I just barely kept her from rolling in it.

Tina, hope you and Lark get to go kayaking today. I still have never used mine. I'm sure I would end up wet trying to get in it or out of it. There are just too many alligators in the waters around here. I haven't made it to the pond yet to see if any more alligators came in. There were 2 small ones before the storm. My pond will probably have a new crop of trash fish. If things ever settle down I'm going to get one of those portable fish cleaning tables so I can clean fish.

I better find something to do before it get to 100 degrees. The yard could stand to be mowed but it's too wet even up on the hill. I need to look on the web site for the water system to see if they say anything about the water being cloudy. I have a filter at the sink and the water that goes through there is clear. I don't want to get the dog and cats sick.

Morning All, the song goes “some days a diamond, some days a stone”. This is a stone day. Next couple days rain and only household chores to keep me busy. Downloaded books from the library to kindle because I can’t stand another rerun of even my favorite shows. Going to turn on several lights, play some soft music, read and eat chocolate in between loads of laundry. Be safe

Glad all is well with everyone. I dont know what is on my agenda for today yet. Been out trimming another bush. I like the trimming part but not the picking up all the debris from it. Picked some tomatoes and got them blanched, skinned and sliced. I dont like the skin as I find it tough so this takes that problem away. Then made myself a bacon and tomato sandwich, it was super good.

Now time for a few inside chores. We are moving into triple digits this week so I will just be hibernating LOL at least in the late mornings. A bath is in order for Emma so since it is going to be pretty warm I am setting up my grooming table so I can trim her feet and nails. My lap doesnt work for that job ha ha

Making pizza for either lunch or dinner and salad for either lunch or dinner, we shall see.

I was a sloth yesterday, didnt even get 4000 steps in and I usually get twice that. Not sure what today will bring.

It is COLD here--like only 48 at noon today!! The elevation is 4,800' which makes being really cold make sense. I had to turn both my small electric heater and the rear furnace on last night to stay warm and it was still only 67 inside the living room when I got up. And it even rained a bit last night and has been misting all day. Tomorrow is supposed to be 76, so I will go for a bike ride then. Cold weather and mid-week means the place is quiet and only about 25% full, just as I like it.

Got to finish listening to 8 "exciting" oral presentations and grade them today, plus open up my syllabus for the new semester. Grades are due next week and the first week of the semester starts in two weeks. We have to open the syllabus early so students can decide if they really want to take our courses or not, except for my course where they don't have much choice because it is required for all bachelor degrees at the college. And we instructors of this course have 90% the same assignments and use the same grading scales. Sorry, students, you are stuck with us!!!

So, today is definitely an indoor day. High will only be 60 anyway.

Oh, Lyn, your GGD will figure out the technology fast. When my youngest grand-daughter was still in kindergarten, which was only half-day, I would get weird text messages from one of the older kids phones at around noon, which meant it could not have come from the owner who was in school all day. So five-year-old was swiping phone and texting away, except that she would have trouble with spelling and the phone would choose words for her sometimes, so I got really strange messages about things like business lunches and such! Parents did not know what she was doing.

The weather here is still cool and now it is raining. I would rather have this than the heat and humidity. I see Tina is off to a dog show so guess they are opening up again as Emma also has one this weekend. She was groomed last week and since they don't judge on looks in obedience I don't have to worry. She is training 7 days a week though until after the show. You would think she would be perfect but anything can happen in the ring to distract her. So it is never something you can count on, plus not all judges see the same thing...
I laughed at Judy's granddaughter texting her, kids learn it seems by instinct once they get a phone in their hands.

I'm making a small batch of applesauce. A friend gave me some organic apples from their tree, they are absolutely delicious but lots of spots to cut out. It should be good though if I don't scorch it. I made beef soup for dinner last night so we are having left overs tonight.

Watch out for those alligators Martha!!

Not only did I scorch it, I put the pan back on the stove while trying to salvage some of the pieces that had been on top and I had forgot to turn the stove off. I may never get the pan clean. My bread turned out perfectly though but that was because it wan in my bread machine.

Lynn got so flustered about us thinking she had a boyfriend, that she posted on yesterday's MC instead of today's!

I had to get out of bed early this morning in my PJ's to move my golf cart. When I charge it up, I have to park it on the grass by the shed to reach the electrical outlet. They mow the grass here on Monday morning so I needed to get it off lawn before they got here. I hope it got charged up good overnight.

I picked up Candiss later and we went over to the UHaul place to reserve a truck. One more thing off her list of things to take care of. She is really stressed out about all of this. I am trying to help her out with as much as I can to calm her nerves. I will take care of the motel reservations.

I have been on the phone for the past couple hours trying to figure out my health insurance. I can't pick up my prescription without insurance info so I had to call around to find out who I am now actually insured with. I finally found out but it seems they thought I still lived in San Diego County and I am not eligible for that insurance in Riverside County so I have to call someone in SD County to find out who to call in RV County to get on another insurance plan thru the state! What a bunch of crap! I did get the info I needed from the insurance I have supposedly been on, in order to get my prescription filled so will go pick that up shortly. Then will call the other numbers and see what happens with that.

Need to stop at the bank to transfer my unemployment money to my checking account today too.

OMG! I just got back from WM. I was waiting in line for my meds but it was taking awhile so I decided to do a little shopping and then come back. I was just sitting here and realized I never went back to get my meds! Well, I guess I am heading back there now... (got too much on my mind! )

...OK, now I got that done! My neighbors on the other side of me (in the RV) have offered to pick me up at the airport when I get back from Oregon. I didn't even ask them but they must have heard from my other neighbor (the older woman who let me and Lola stay cool in her place the other day) that I needed a ride and they just offered to do it. I have such great neighbors!!

Earlier, I saw a large rain storm coming over the mountains heading here. I was sure it was gonna make it to my side of the valley since it was raining so hard I couldn't see the mountains. But like most storms, it dried up as soon as it hit the heat here and just disappeared. I guess that is why this is a desert .

I bought some green grapes at WM. They are huge and sweet and crunchy! They are labeled "Sun Power" table grapes.

BJ, I hate days like that. I just say my biorhythms are off.

I used to say that too! I haven't heard about or thought about biorhythms in ages!
