Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Tuesday

Afternoon All, the storm has passed and all is well. There is some localized flooding. Hope Irmi and Steve are ok. They have had serious flood damage in the past. Thoughts for those in the storms path as it moves north. Be safe

Hi Shirl,

We're not staying at the house but since I haven't heard from any of our friends, I'm hoping everything is okay there. Here in Caroline County, we got lots of rain for hours on end and so far we've seen one large tree down. But this is a big place, so I'm sure there are others down as well. The rain has stopped and the sun has popped out so all is good.

Glad to hear all is well with the 3 if you. I'm still feeling lucky that I'm healthy with all going on around me. We're in pre-Sturgis now and people everywhere.

Nothing else exciting to report.

Irmi, sure hope your house is ok. I know what a mess that is.

Not much going on here today. I was going to town to check my mail and when I went to get in the car I got stung by a wasp. They were building a nest on my mirror and I didn't notice. I didn't take some Benadryl until I got home and my had puffed up like a frog. That's the second time I have been stung in a couple of weeks. That Benadryl knocked me out.

The mosquitos are bad. They were bad at the campground. When I started to mow yesterday I had to go in the camper and get a can of deep woods off. The mosquito truck needs to pass.

I have an eye doctor appointment tomorrow. They had called and text to confirm my appointment and called again today to ask questions. My appointment had already been changed because of the virus and I was hoping I could go. There is something going on with my left eye that I would like to get checked. They are like the dentist, I have to sit in my car until they tell me I can come in. Better not forget my mask.

I am glad those of you on the east coast are doing OK yet.

Beth, be very careful! They say there could be over 250,000 bikers there this next week or two and I seriously doubt they will be wearing masks or social distancing! I think there will be a lot of sick bikers in the next few weeks!

I took the golf cart to get the mail today and somehow got stung on a toe by a fire ant. I got some ant bait for them the other day. I guess I should put it out for them. I think they have a nest at one neighbors place and they come thru my yard to the other neighbors yard to get little bits of birdseed. I have trailed them and seen them taking it back across my driveway. Hopefully, they will like this food better. Wish I knew where their nest was.

Made tuna salad yesterday but it didn't turn out too good. Not sure why but just doesn't have much taste to it. I opened 3 cans of tuna before I found one that had decent looking tuna in it. I gave some of the other stuff to Lola and she got sick from it.

The smoke hasn't been as bad the past day or so but I think because the fire has moved northeast, it is probably blowing more into Yucca valley on the other side of the mountains behind me now. That is OK by me! Just hope they can finally get the fire contained soon! It is really windy tonight so that isn't a good thing.

Will try for the food shelf and library tomorrow. And maybe some laundry too. It is cooling off some now so not so brutally hot anymore.

Still haven't gotten my unemployment money yet, I just read that they (CA Unemployment Agency) are having a lot of problems with getting caught up with the claims again, and the state employees are quitting out of frustration. They said it could be September before everyone gets their money. :o I am already registered from before so not sure why there would be a problem with getting my money.

Last night my AC unit started squealing when it came on (outside from the condenser). I was worried it was quitting on me. But by this morning it was quiet again and still working. Hopefully, dodged a bullet there!

Off to bed. Hopefully will get to sleep a little earlier tonight.
Barbie, Romeow, and Sophie, missing Lola! (and lots of ferrets running around in my heart!)
