Wet Tuesday

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Wet Tuesday

It's not raining right now but there is rain all around me. The temperature is going up but the next shower will cool it off.

Last night I decided to update my GPS's. My Garmin is probably 10 years old and it updated just fine in about an hour. I have never liked the TomTom my son gave me and I fought with that thing for 3 hours. The last program update on my Apple Computer doesn't work with the TomTom program. I never could figure out how to fix it so got out my HP computer and down loaded the TomTom program. Their program is very confusing. Of course it wants me to buy maps and I know that the GPS has lifetime maps. I kept messing with it and finally got to somewhere that says the maps are up to date. I don't know how they could be because I haven't used it in several years. I have threatened to throw that thing as far as I could several times.

I got my list made for my campout, now to load up. I talked to my sister last night and she isn't going. Someone posted a picture that show how far the beach is from the campground. There is no way she could walk that far so I'm glad she isn't going. I don't know if I will bring my inflatable kayak. Some are bringing kayaks but mine has never been inflated. That thing is heavy.

Good afternoon all. Glad you get to go camping Martha. I am just hunkering down at home now probably for the summer. Car Road Trip comes to mind tho. Might be one in my future later in the year.

Home from the dang eye doc. I got both eyes dilated today as they do the scans every month. Just a shot in the L eye, tomorrow the R eye but no dilation. After tomorrow dont go back for a month Aug 25th and 26th. Yippee

Cant do too much right now that requires seeing LOL so I vacuumed, dusted, looks good to me ha ha I have Mary Trumps book a neighbor gave me today so hope I can start reading it later today. She has a list of people that want it next. Just threw a load of laundry in and I think it is lunchtime now......crab salad sounds good.

I went out just after noon to do a little shopping. Hobby Lobby had a 50% off sale of their wall art. There is a picture I have been wanting for awhile, of 3 horses. I took another look at it and it was discounted to $21 from $42. I hemmed and hawed and walked around a bit. Then I saw the same picture in a clearance area for 66% off! I decided that it was a sign I was supposed to buy it, so I got it for just over $14! Stopped at WM to return a couple things and then get some food for Lola and for me (forgot the freezer bag  ). High tailed it home from there (2 miles) since it was 115* out.

I got on Amazon today and decided to buy a new GPS since the one I have is over 10 years old and very outdated. Also bought a camera (pocket point and shoot) since my camera has been acting up some too. This one is smaller but still has 25 zoom on it and some features I like that mine doesn't have. Mine also has the on/off button right in front of the shutter button and I keep hitting the wrong button when I want to take a photo. This one has the on/off button away from the shutter button so I won't be so likely to do that. I will have to spend some time learning how to use both of them. Things like that come with way too many bells and whistles now days, whether you want them or not.

The other day, I bought an annual Adventure Pass at a Big 5 store, which allows me to park in any of the local National Forests in SoCal. I had bought a day pass up in Idyllwild, which was hard to find since the rangers office was closed. This way I can pull in and park at any picnic or hiking area without having to find someplace to buy a day pass first. It was only $30. I will need it too, if I go to Big Bear. I can also park at the picnic area at Lake Hemet up near Idyllwilde and put my kayak in there if I decide to take it up there one day.

Maybe tomorrow I will get to the laundry if I get an early enough start. It will be almost 100* by 9am. I think tuna salad is on the menu as well. An easy thing to make and eat for a few days, without having to cook.

Thursday, the library will be open again and I can pick up the books I have on hold.

Friday, I have a very early dentist appointment for cleaning, x-rays and exam. I know I need two crowns for sure. I also need to make a couple doctor appointments but my health insurance is kind of messed up right now. I got kicked off the insurance I was on when I got furlowed (not a bad thing since I didn't like them anyways) and was put on Covered California which is part of ACA. Now they say I don't make enough money to be on that so I am supposed to get info on Medi-Cal. So until I know for sure what I am covered with, I can't make any of those appointments yet. I have separate dental insurance.

Good night!
Barbie, Romeow, and Sophie, missing Lola! (and lots of ferrets running around in my heart!)
