Hi ladies!

Didn't want the day to go by without a post. The weather was warm, but not hot. Woke up to 73 and the high was 87. We had a couple short showers but the day was dry enough that we were able to sit outside to enjoy the day.

We'll be leaving GA Wednesday and heading a little further north. After 3 nights in SC, we'll spend 2 weeks in NC. Hope to meet family there for a bit and enjoy lots of time outside.

I just put the bed back together after washing the bed linens and have Steve's pillow in the dryer. These king size pillows are large enough that in the RV dryer, only one fits. I could have added a few small things but I'll do another load tomorrow so we don't have to travel up the road with dirty laundry.

Hopefully everyone's day went well.

My day has been over for a while. Had my BFF Laura here for a long weekend. The weather cooperated when we were out BUT had fits of temper most of yesterday. We need the rain for sure, the wind can go away. Today it is 72 and sunny/cloudy but very pleasant. I did laundry this morning, dusting (that dang sun showed up all my dust) and a quick vacuum. Supposed to be nice tomorrow so will spread some more mulch around the plants. Laura brought Beedo. her cat. Her cat and my dog get along so well. Cute to watch. Laura left this morning and Emma was bummed "her" cat disappeared ha ha But good news for her as I am dogsitting until Wednesday so she now has Barney to play with for a couple of days.

Not much else going on in my little corner of the world but sure was happy to have a visitor.

went to take Shadow out to pee and notice that Koda wasn't in the yard but out roaming so called her (she is suppose to stay in yard partly because when the neighbors first moved in she didn't play nice with the neighbor's dogs... and she just had this surgery on her leg not really suppose to be running around... so I get her attention go toward the yard and she comes right along get over to where I can see the gate it's off it's hinges!!!! so I go to put Koda on a lead but she just goes to the house so I go and let her in then text dd and sil to see if there is something we can do to it temperately make it so she can't do it again (I had put it back on the post) I noticed this after noon that Koda was on the lead and the gate was once again off the hinges... not sure how she is doing it but she has figured it out... told dd to have KK come out and fix the gate figured she can do it this time it's still not fixed or wasn't the last time I looked out...
think I have figured out what to do with the plant that doesn't fit the pot... will put it in another planter just need dirt and then put some brown eyed susan's on each end of the planter and they can climb up the brace that is on it if it works and looks nice I will take a picture... hmmm started to rain been off and on all day but not a lot in fact I thought of watering the tomatoes but either the water wasn't turned on at that spigot or I just didn't know what to do so tomorrow will try again or next day then text sil or see if KK knows what is going one... they really got hit with a storm down in Utah in some area's snow (up in the mts) and hail
starting the third color on this afghan will like it I think sorta thinking this is going to be like the last one was I liked the green but think a different tone would have been better think this red will be ok but think the chocolate would be better it's more of a brown red than this one is... but the stores just don't have the yarn supplies that they normally have besides going to Jackson tomorrow not Idaho Falls was going to make banana bread but forgot to get the butter out and it's been cold enough I've ran furnace all day so am sure the butter has never softened I will try and do it Weds or take the banana's with me and make it at mom's was going to take some over to her anyway... might need to think about that other than not sure I have enough and if I take it with me and don't have the ones in freezer to fall back on I will be irritated... so perhaps I will just leave it here do it and put hers in the freeze till the next time I go over...
Sorry Anne that didn't help... I have two nieces that work for IRS I might message them and ask what you should do they may know and they may not... it's really weird how long it's taking things to go through left a bunch of post dated checks to pay for the fridge work one for a 1000 it was dated 5-29 still not through but perhaps that isn't that long ago will wait a few more days before I call him and see if he put it through.
wow there is a brilliant rainbow out there but from where I sit I can't tell if it's full or not think it goes over the 5th wheel but the south arch is so bright
think I am going to turn on the buddy it's quieter and just feels warmer

Your story made me remember about when we had a junky and very hard to open doorwall at our house and no backyard fence. So, my dad came over and put a new doorwall in for us. It was a very expensive one and slid very easily. Loved it, except our schnauzer learned how to open it if we left it even a tiny bit open--like less than one inch from closing completely. She could stick her nose in the small gap and open the door, and off she would go!! Luckily, she was not much of a wanderer.

So, now my son has a similar squeaky and hard to open doorwall. I warned him that getting a new one might mean the dog could open it!

Another long day that wasn't too busy. Had a couple guys that tested my tongue (as in having to bite it). One guy said the COVID-19 is a hoax and was just the normal flu turned into a big thing by the media. Then he says "so what if 100K people die, they are all old so who cares?" Seriously??? He was probably in his late 60's. I just don't get the ignorance and lack of compassion of some people.
The other guy was all about conspiracy theories with the virus so I tuned him out when he started talking about his opinion about the protests and riots. (he was the last client of the day and I just wanted to get done with him). He also told me that in 10 years we will be able to transfer our souls into new bodies so we can live forever, and will have chips inserted in our brains so we can communicate telepathically with everyone including God. OK... so I was more than ready to be done with my day at work!!

My friend here with the cancer wanted her head shaved again so I did that for her after work. I don't know if it is due to the chemo or what, but she kept repeating herself, like someone with Alzheimers does. I have never noticed that before.

Lola didn't feel good today, She got sick a couple times and also some litter box issues. Good thing I kept Maya in the bedroom all day.

Gonna get warmer thru the week but cool off again next weekend. Will take any cooler weather that we can get now that it is summer. Got 4 months of hot weather ahead before it starts to cool off again.

Wow Barbie you have good control! I would have been tempted to shave "Wacko" on the back of their heads! Maybe there is a new modern revision to the Bible out there. I'm sure you were ready to get out of there.

I have always been a science-fictiony kind of person.

There have been a great many science fiction books, films and television shows dealing with this topic - i.e., transferring one's consciousness into a 'new' body. Most more simple stories kind of gloss over the implications of this, but the few really good (and interesting!) ones go into the deep moral considerations of where these 'new' bodies might come from. A fully-fledged new body does not spring into being without severe moral 'cost' - it had to belong to someone previously - for it to be able to grow into a new body.

The best of these stores deal with the question: "What happened to that 'original owner'?"

Barbara, your post brought to mind a really wonderful book I read some years ago that is tangential to this theme, but comes at it in a totally new and very unexpected way.

The name of the book (and I recommend it VERY highly!) is "The Host" by Stephanie Meyer (yes, that Stephanie Meyer, this one written before she became so famous). I have actually read this book twice over the years, a rarity for me. I think I definitely feel another reading coming on.

A film was made of the book several years ago - skip the movie. It was dreadful, and totally missed the point of the book.

That first guy sounded like some of the residents of that first campground I stayed at in northern Florida. They were driving golf carts around with signs about the virus being a hoax and many of them were doing things like crowding into the pool and socializing in groups. That was the place where I washed things out in the bathroom sink rather than use their laundry! And that old guy will be really shocked when HE gets the virus!

Reminds me of when I was on a ship crossing the Atlantic in 2003. One lady from Germany kept spouting her theories (or facts, according to her) about 9/11 being planned by Jews and how there were no Jews killed in the towers that collapsed because they had all planned to be absent that day! I got sick of it and changed my meal seating to earlier so I wouldn't have to listen to her constantly. Cannot believe how stupid people are.

Nice day here in Ohio--temps good and lots of sunshine with a nice breeze. This campground is a birdwatcher's paradise because it is on a major flyway across Lake Erie from Canada. It was built on old farm fields, but they dug out several shallow lakes/ponds and put a few trees here and there, but mostly have left it as meadow. They have also put up a lot of bird houses. Not too far away are a couple of national wildlife refuges and lots of marshes. Great place to come in spring and fall when the birds are migrating and stop here on their way south.

I know some things that were once science fiction have happened since then. But he was adamant that it would happen in the next ten years. He asked if I would want to live forever and I said no. Ann, I will check on that book.
