Good Morning Friday!

Almost sunny day today, though we may have more rain tonight. This area needs some rain, so that is OK.

I have been struggling with an overfull refrigerator ever since the Covid 19 virus hit, as I am trying to keep enough groceries on hand in case I get sick, and with my 8.5 cubic refrigerator/freezer, it is not easy. Stuff keeps falling out of my freezer whenever I open it. I am guessing anyone else who is living in an RV is having the same problem. I eat stuff, but yesterday I bought a big package of bacon (2.5 pounds) because they did not have smaller packages. I cut the slices in half, and wrapped them in small amounts, and added those to the freezer! Got to do more eating and stop buying stuff.

I rode my electric bike yesterday, and it really is dying a slow death, so I need to get a new one. Riding on the back of this motorhome for 7 years has not been kind to it. The motor works, but I have only one gear instead of seven, the shifter is broken, the one brake is not working, the chain keeps falling off, the wheels squeak even though I have lubricated them, the front fender is loose and rubbing against the tire, and several other things are about ready to fall off. So, I guess I will use the recent deposit to my 401K that the college made to buy a new one. Hate to spend the money, but it really is handy for things like yesterday when I rode it to the post office and stopped at the grocery store for a couple of items. I have a problem walking long distances, so it is really helpful in campgrounds, especially when I am near a town. Almost abandoned it, but put it back on its carrier. Don't know when I will be able to find a bike dealer that carries what I want and get a new one.

Hope everyone is staying healthy!

It's cloudy here but has warmed back up to 77. I went and mowed in Maurice yesterday. It was so windy and dusty I had to wash my hair. Guess I will mow here today.

Our trash pick up is on Friday mornings. When I went out to walk the dog I noticed my trash can is gone. I don't know if they accidentally picked up the can or someone passed and stole it. I called the trash service and they are suppose to get back to me. I hope I don't have to pay for another can.

That's about the extent of my excitement for the day. Today is fish at the deli. I'm trying to decide if I want to go to town in the truck and get gas for the mower and a fish dinner.

Good Morning, I received a phone call from an old friend this morning. What a pleasant surprise! We used to meet at Ocean Beach and spend the day swimming and sunning. She introduced me to artichoke pizza. Very good.
Still laying on the couch reading.....Lyn

Hi everyone!

Judy, I know how much you use your bike, so replacing it might be a good idea. Is there a way to put it on the ramp hydraulically so you don't have to do so much work, or maybe you already have that?

Martha, do you have another peace of property in Maurice?

Lyn, I'm so glad you're staying in touch. Although I have my keyboard, I sure miss playing in church since we're shut down.

We have extended our stay in Ocala and revised our plans to get back to MD. The tags & registration on the motorhome will be expired the end of this month, so that needs to be taken care of. My drivers license is expired and that is the next order of business. We have a 3 apt. rental that we've had for years that we want to put on the market and make life more simple. We're also trying to figure out the best way to spend the winters here without going broke. Should we buy a site in a campground and still have HOA ($$$) prices to pay, buy a double wide somewhere with HOA expenses (I'm not so sure I want another house), keep paying rent at nice campgrounds? I think this winter, we're going to have to do some serious looking around to see what is the best thing to do. I am open to any and all suggestions. We will probably, at some point, sell our home in MD, too. There's nothing keeping us there.

Please stay safe everyone.

Yes Irmi, I have a piece of property in Maurice. After our house flooded in 2005 and again in 2008 Harold wanted to buy some land in case we would ever have to move. We found 14 acres 20 miles farther inland on a hill. My son decided to move an old mobile home to the property. He passed away before he ever got the utilities connected. A friend of Harold's helped me get the utilities connected. Every time we have a hurricane that might come in here I need somewhere to move vehicles and farm equipment to. Last year they let me move everything to the feed store in town but I don't want to be doing that and be in their way. I put in an RV hookup so I could stay in my motorhome if I need to. I like living where I do but you never know what kind of damage a hurricane will cause. I just hope I don't ever have to move.

Judy, my freezer is almost always full. I could easily go 4-6 weeks and not run out of food at almost anytime. Yes, I'd run out of fresh and frozen veggies, but probably my apples would make it. During the summers I usually try to eat most of my home cooked frozen dinners. I've figured out that the way I package things I fit as much as I used to fit in a much larger freezer. I have more trouble with fresh fruits which I love. So I keep some canned, mandarins especially.

I'm at my last stop before Keystone. This area did get snow yesterday, but it is melting and leaving puddles and icy spots . I deliberately didn't drive this morning until temps were above freezing and the sun was doing its job. I'll wait for trends to rise tomorrow, too.

Martha, a back up in your circumstances is always good.

Irmi, I'm glad to be unburdened by most. Buying the casita, of course, added a burden back, but it worked out well, so far, for me. I'd be afraid to buy into a private park that could raise annual fees, etc, exorbitantly. I suppose fees at my place could do similar, but they have a good track record. Good luck figuring out what will be best for you and Steve.

I'm not used to heavy sweat pants and a sweat shirt! Lol

Nothing much happening here. Was a nice breezy day out and didn't feel too warm. Took a couple walks. Now the wind has picked up a lot more so palm fronds are blowing off all over again.

Hoping to get the things I ordered to work on the cat gourd over the weekend. Hopefully some of it will come tomorrow so i can work on it a little anyways. i have another project idea that I could also start on if I can find the right gourd for it. i only have a handful of gourds so not a lot to pick from right now but I can probably find one that will work for that project.

Beth, it will be nice for you to get to Keystone and get settled in there. When will Linda arrive?

Soos is heading back to the Adirondacks now from FL.

Have a nice evening!

Linda will come for the 1st of the month. And I don't think Soos is headed north. Where did you see that?

Made it to Ogden for the weekend... even a cemented site isn't level... not too bad don't have the things to fix it so will deal with it... I just don't want to do anything to this new cooler... although I did get the extended warranty on it. Still want it to work
started the day out late as normal good intentions though... went out and started the truck was going to let it run while I took Shadow out but it was running really rough... and the exhaust plume was more than normal... so finally called the nephew no answer so called the office phone number and got a voice yea and she explained that they were closed on Friday for right now oh dang she said but ....should be home I said I tried his cell phone didn't answer she said he is probably still asleep let me call mom and get her to get him... so nephew called back listened had me lift the hood and look at the bottle which although the radiator had coolant in it the bottle couldn't see if it had much in a really weird place so told me to dump in enough water so I could see it.. then to check my oil I had had it checked before I left but my friend that did it didn't do it the second time...(thinking he is getting more forgetful have seen his wife remind him of things) anyway thankfully I had oil to put in it... amazing what water and oil will do :o :o because of the animal catcher on the front of the truck I have a really hard time checking my fluids I need to do it had I done so would have caught that it needed oil... but now it has oil and nephew is going to see what he can do to make it easier to get inside the catcher so I can check the fluids... other than that an uneventful trip aren't they the best kind??? diesel was 2.35 can't complain... yes I can the chick in the office charged me for 5 days no wonder I thought it was really high so will need to go in and get it fixed... and it's cold am wrapped up in my electric throw... so glad I have it and hot chocolate is in order...

Beth, I could have sworn I read on FB that she was at a KOA for the night. I must have read that wrong, or maybe she was referring to another time she stayed at them. My brain is turning to mush now that I don't do anything with it!

I guess we had another small earthquake but with the winds blowing so hard I didn't notice. I need to get the yard cleaned up a little this weekend since the temps are gonna head up to the mid to upper 90's next week! :o Too hot to do anything out there then. Mostly just stuff out there that needs to go back into the shed. And bins full of books that need to be put away in my bedroom. I need to cut one of the indoor/outdoor rugs I bought at the yard sale a couple weeks ago. They are each 6 ft by 9ft. One will fit good in the porch but the one for the deck is too long. I will cut that down to 6 x 6 and use the other 6 x 3 for next to my bed. I can take care of that tomorrow.

Off to bed...hopefully I can sleep with all the wind noise outside.
