Monday, Monday

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Monday, Monday

Postby SoCalGalcas » Mon Apr 13, 2020 10:13 am

Good Morning, I have been in isolation for a month now! Only person I have seen is the daughter. I am really, really ready to get out of this crap!
DD brought a 1000 piece jigsaw puzzle up from storage for me. I am not a puzzle person. She works on it when she comes over. I put one piece in over the weekend! If we have to stay isolated much longer, she will have the puzzle done!
Storm last week brought almost two inches of rain. Loved it. Just had a light shower this morning.
So far, all my family are safe. Twins are three months old. Grandson is great about sending pictures.
Martha, glad those horrible storms missed you.

We are having a nice day here again will be 74. We sure need rain but alas none in our forecast. I have been working in the yard and redoing my watering system. I didnt do too much yesterday and today I need to go to the store as I am out of a few things. Mainly salad fixings. Glad you are doing well Lyn and staying inside, you cannot afford to get this virus.

Going to set up my grooming table and give the dog a bath and clip her nails, this should be fun. Since my groomer isnt working of course. Bacon wrapped scallops and some fried oysters on the agenda tonight. Havent had seafood for a while so it is time.

Good morning gals!

Another long night! I was awake until almost 4 with my mind racing! Finally had a burst of motivation in the middle of the night and made a plan of how to get everything done around here and even wrote it all down! Now to resurrect  that motivation in the light of day! I watched a couple of episodes of "Extreme Hoarders" yesterday so maybe that got me inspired! I sure don't ever want my place to get like that!!!  I feel bad for those people. They are in such denial. Really is a mental illness. So sad! :(

The winds have been relentless! All night long again and still blowing hard this morning! But clear blue skies and warm. I have my bedroom windows open and getting a wonderful crossbreeze in here! The landscape crew was out this morning cleaning up all the palm fronds and debris from the weekend. On Monday mornings they also come thru with their weed wackers and clean up around the edges of things, and then come back on Tuesday morning with the lawn mowers.

My overly ambitious list I made over night of things to do today will get pared down to focusing on Lola today. I need to subQ her, clip her nails, clean her ears, and give her at least a foot bath if not an all over bath. Will see how stressed she is with the first items before I decide to do a full bath. I also need to get to the bank today.

Beth, have a safe trip north. I saw they had snow there yesterday but that will be melted by the time you get there.

Have a good day and week ahead!

I was just reading about the horrible tornado outbreak in the south and east! :o Martha, I hope you are OK! I wonder if Sarah's house was affected? She is still in FL luckily. Anyone else in that area, I hope all are OK. What terrible destruction in the midst of all the other stuff going on. :(

The Easter bunny just showed up here! The couple who put out the Easter egg signs around here yesterday, posted on our FB page last night that they had a lot of left over ham and wanted to know if anyone wanted some, so I said I would like some. They just showed up with a basket full of ham, potatoes, buns, tomatoes, candy, etc! Wow! I have such great neighbors! :D

I have gotten almost zero done today. Got dressed and fed the cats. There was nothing to watch on TV last night and kept flipping around until I came to a show about Dolly. I watched that and then there was a special about Willie Nelson. I watched that until 3:00am. If the vet hadn't called at 8:00 I don't know what time I would have gotten up.

A friend of mine ask people to send her sister in a nursing home birthday cards because she couldn't have visitors or get out. I remember gathering up some cards I had around here and putting them all together so I could find them. What I did with them then is anybody's guess.

It's a nice sunny day. A little on the cool side. I might have to go fishing again. All this wind we have been having has the water in the larger pond muddy. I think all the tornado damage in Louisiana was up North around Monroe. I have a friend that lives there and she said she and her husband spent some time in a closet. They didn't have any damage. I think they reported that 6 people were killed in Mississippi. It's probably a good thing Sarah is still in Florida. It looks like every storm that comes through hits her town.

Barbie, you really do have good neighbors. Yesterday I put brown sugar and mustard on my ham slice. It could have used more sugar and less mustard but was still pretty good.

I have everything to make a Crawfish and Artichoke soup. The recipe would make a big batch and not sure I want to be eating that all week. I don't have much room in the freezer to put a bunch of soup. I took a small container of Eggnog from Christmas out of the freezer and am using it for coffee creamer. It has whisky in it so a good way to start the day. lol

I went to the bank at noon to deposit a check, get some quarters for laundry and then see about deferring a credit card account and line of credit account. (still waiting for my first unemployment check and the stimulus check, with bills looming). I was there over 3 hours! I sat with the banker while she was on hold 3 different times. Got one account deferred for 3 months and she was working on the other one, when, after being on hold for almost another hour, she got a message that there was such a backlog of calls, to just leave a message on voicemail. So we just gave up on that. I will try calling the number early tomorrow morning and see what happens. Stopped at the grocery store after that and then the dollar store. Found out today is my friend, Candiss's birthday, so I wanted to pick up a few little things for her. Got home and brought that over to her and we chatted for a bit.

Still horribly windy out! Was supposed to let up this morning but never happened.

still have so much to do... but I guess it will get done... I just might not leave as early as I planned on... my mats are up as well as my signs...so much is really a last moment thing but tomorrow friends are coming out and help me get stuff in the truck and hook the truck up and then I will concentrate on the inside...still have to replant the plants I found growing with the way things are going it might be the only planters I get planted... guess we will see later in the spring.
did get Shadow groomed first time I've had anyone say Shadow is hard to do that he kept wanting to get down ect... not overly impressed either so guess I will try someone else next year... then when the receipt came through I was charged twice so have a call into them to see why... will see what they say... and what to do
you all take care

Well, I'm ready... I'll see how early I can get going. Ty needs a good walk so we don't have to stop too soon. I want to get going fairly early because I'm hoping to drive a long distance tomorrow. I try to avoid winds and tomorrow is supposed to be great driving weather.

I'm going to miss "my mountains".

Sheila, work on your pace... You don't HAVE to be there in any hurry. And Ty's nails are way too long. He hides now when I get the clippers out and most places to get them trimmed are closed now. I always manage to get the quick on one and then he won't let me touch them anymore that round. (And I feel terrible).
