Hunkering Down Monday

No furry, skinny-tailed mouse problem. My mouse problem was that I have used my old leather LazyBoy recliner armrest for a mouse pad for the past 15+ years. It has been my chair of choice all that time, but I finally wore a hole in the leather on the arm and where my head rests, so I went out and bought a cloth version in a light beige. It is identical in design and size to my last one. It won't last as long, but the leather colors were too dark for my taste, and i did not want to order one to pick up a month later. The fabric is a solid color but it has a bit of a pattern on it and looks very nice, however, I have two problems with using the arm as a mouse pad.

First, the mouse keeps sliding off on the floor. And second, the mouse is not working as well, either because of the lack of pattern or the color or the fuzz that keeps getting into the optical receiver. I have tried putting a variety of things like towels and t-shirts on the armrest but had no luck. Grading things was taking twice as long because of the darn mouse problem. I checked online, and there is something called the Anywhere Mouse by Logitech that even works on glass, so off I went to pick one up. It would have cost $59 but I have to have a working mouse. However, I discovered that mouse pads are now very thin and flexible and only cost $4, so I got one and it works great. Saved me $55! Except while i was there I got a new camera. My old one is only four years old, but it has something on the lens inside that is showing up on photos, and I have not found anyone who can take it apart and clean it--lenses are not removable to replaceable. So I spent over $300 on a camera. Oh, well.

Anyway, today is hunkering down day. Not going out at all, other than for a walk in the campground to watch the lock.

Kind of sunny Monday

Good morning. At least for a few minutes! Nothing happening in my life right now! Other than all the news with this virus. The governor has closed all schools for at least 2 weeks and all the other closures and such. Something new happening all the time it seems. I was out and about Saturday picking up some needed everyday things at the grocery store and had in mind to make a meatloaf but there was no hamburger to be found! I still don’t completely get it! So anyway, scraped that idea for now! I‘be just been doing projects around the house. Like I managed to get my oven cleaned the other day. Not my favorite thing but needed it off my list! The pup got a much needed grooming last week. He looks so much better now. He was getting pretty shaggy! So that’s about it for me today. Just hoping you all stay safe during this trying time. And have a great Monday.

Judy, I was thinking mouse pad too, when I saw you bought one. But see your wallet managed to open anyway,. Good that you got a new camera.

Just got back from chiropractor and store. Few more adjustments and now wants me to do moist heat, ointment rubs and epsom salt bath, but That won’t happen as this house has a stall shower in one bathroom and a huge deep garden tub in the other and I know I won’t be able to get back out of it. She said maybe some hot wet towels soaked in the epsom salt. Will figure out something. Store was busy, has TP and some paper towels etc. restricted to two packages per person. Kleenex is gong down. Eggs are about gone, but everything else pretty much in stock. Deli, fresh meat Dept. Are going to package only and no self serve donuts etc. There were now 53 cases in MI this morning, majority in SE around Detroit area. Gov. Just issued order this morning that there is to be no dining in, in restaurants and bars. Delivery and carry out only. She’s doing all she can to try and keep it from spreading around the state. It’s amazing the ingenuity the business owners have been doing to keep operating and keep everybody safe. While most libraries have closed as well as ours, ours instituted a curbside pickup so people can have access to books etc.

Guess there will be a lot of houses being cleaned good this spring, closets and basements getting purged etc., since everybody’s self quarantining up here:lol: All those projects that have been put off for lack of time or whatever.

Found out from snowbird neighbors that the biggest reason the Canadians are heading home is that, if they aren’t home in 10 days, the gov’t. Will cancel their health insurance :o about 25 % of the park they stay at are Canadians.

So, that’s the latest on the MI front. Stay safe everyone.

Still working and plan to keep at it until I can’t...... States canceling state testing could affect later projects ....

Well I wasnt planning on going to the store until tomorrow. But was chatting with an elderly neighbor at the mail box. She was out of all the staples. She has been home for the last three weeks and is running out of stuff. She said she had lots in her freezer but no milk, eggs, bread, cereal etc. Her son was going to come sometime this week but he is a police sgt and is working his butt off. Soooooooooo I told her if she could be ready in 5 minutes I would take her because it was still early yet. We went to Winco and they werent busy at all, so she was able to get everything she needed and bought extra. Everything I wanted was available so win-win this morning. She tried to give me $20 and of course I nixed that. So did my good deed for today.

Bought a couple of whole chickens to roast and some more hamburger so will have to Food Saver one chicken and package the hamburger in small packs. I am staying home for the most part and now have plenty of groceries. I needed basically some fresh fruit and veggies and was able to get everything I needed. There was plenty of stuff to buy, eggs were fairly slim, bread and milk was plentiful, soups were sporadic, Ramen was pretty empty. Didnt go down the frozen food aisle so not sure but heard frozen pizzas, etc were gone. Of course no toilet paper but they had some paper towels so I picked up a roll. Kleenex was pretty bare.

I am getting a little bored having to pretty much stay in but nothing stopping me from taking a drive somewhere. Plenty of places around here for a short day trip. Playing Mexican train on Friday here at my house so life is not very exciting.

I have been up rearranging furniture this morning. I had wanted to sell my love seats (in living room) and recliner (in porch) and replace them with a small couch for the living room and a smaller chair for the porch. I decided that to save money, I will get rid of one love seat now and put the recliner in the living room with the other love seat. It is kind of a tight fit but will still open up the living room quite a bit. I have two folding saucer chairs that I can use in the porch once I sell the other love seat. I am putting that love seat in the porch for now. It won't fit thru the slider door opening so I am trying to get someone over to remove the door so I can move the loveseat out there and then put the door back on. We have our yard sale on Friday so am hoping I can sell it then.

The dumpsters here are overflowing with everyone cleaning out there places before heading home. Big mess!

Sun is out, light breeze, birds chirping and perfect temperature! Will probably take a walk later and maybe hit the putting course again. Tomorrow will be our last game of the season.

Enjoy the day and stay well! :D

I got all the mowing done yesterday. I had a mouse problem before I started. There was a dead rat in the yard and I didn't want to mow him so threw him over the fence. These fat cats kill and bring rats and mice home but they are not hungry enough to eat them. I use my lap for a mouse pad and found out it won't work on black jeans.

Our meetup dinner got cancelled as well as all that were scheduled for the next 2 months. The governor closed bars and changed restaurants to take out only as of midnight. Some of the schools are still serving bag lunches to be picked up so they still have people coming and going at the schools. I heard a commercial for Golden Corral offering take out. Don't know how that's going to work. Wondering about Piccadilly too. Will they let you go through and pick your food to take out? I love Piccadilly's strawberry pie and have been thinking about making one since they have Louisiana strawberries in the store.

I need to go get cat food tomorrow so might take a run at Walmart and see what it looks like.

went and donated blood today... usually have no problems afterwards and didn't there nor much later but felt woozy or something so accomplished nothing of what I planned on doing I think it stemmed from not drinking much totally forgot that I planned on donating so didn't drink more... am so bad about drinking anything ... some time this week will make a trip to walmart hopefully get some of the things I deem necessary. should make a list as I will forget if I don't and a lot of times forget even if on the list ... I quite often don't refer to it while there got home the other day and found that I 'd forgotten the baking soda first thing on the list...

I got all the mowing done yesterday. I had a mouse problem before I started.

I went out shopping today to Best Buy because I was having mouse problems

I am so confused!! :?

Had a couple people who were supposed to come over to help with my door but no one showed up or even called. :x I got a nap in earlier while waiting. The guy who bought my washer/dryer was gonna come back with some insulation and a piece of plywood to cover up the hole where the dryer vent went to the outside. I never heard back from him either, so I will have to fix that myself. Still need to get the water pipes fixed too. Still got the garden hose running from the leaky one into my bathroom and the tub.

Just decided to have a bowl of cereal that I bought yesterday. Took a spoonful and quickly realized the milk was bad! Yuck! So much for cereal for now. Hope I can find some milk tomorrow.

I need to remember to go to work at noon tomorrow instead of 2pm. If it isn't raining and we play golf, I will have to get ready for work right after that.

Some of the bar owners in Palm Springs are thinking of suing the city for closing them down, saying the mayor picked a really bad time to make that decision. Yeah, like the mayor had anything to do with the Coronavirus hitting right now. Our county has 16 cases and 2 deaths.

Getting pretty quiet around here now. Another neighbor heading out tomorrow. Only a few left on my street now.

My county and neighboring ones here in Arizona haven't had any cases yet. So Ginger and I went ahead with our plans for our Bisbee ghost tour tonight. It was an awesome tour, pay about ghosts and lots about the history. So much I have to go back another time and see in the day time. I've always felt Bisbee to be a place I could live. Our tour group was 5, plus the guide and we were often spread out... No one getting in the others space. Tomorrow I head back to Benson. I'm going to see about getting my propane filled, just in case. Then I'll be home for at least 3 weeks... Only time will tell if I make it to SD.

Sheila, I'll stay put probably. Because I'll only not go if I'm forced not to... Which means I might find out what my casita and place hear would be like in the summer. :o
