Good morning gals!

Am just getting ready to go play golf. Been having some bathroom issues this morning so I took some Pepto and hoping that works before I get to the golf course!

Very windy this morning! Clear skies tho. Should be able to see the snow that fell on the mountains yesterday.

Lola has a new issue now. She has been throwing up a lot in the past couple days. Will have to monitor that and maybe get her in to get checked out.

Yesterday was a very long day at work with the split shift! Got nothing done at home in between. Hopefully, I will get something accomplished today.

wow we are quite today!!
as to the generator the IF one was exchanged in Yuma the Yuma one in Havasu and not the Havasu one will be exchanged as well... it ran about 2-3 hours before it decided no more!!! needless to say I am tired of it... but will exchange it as what other recourse do I have??? I did ask if they would just send a repair person.. said they can't do that at the store I'd have to contact cooperate sure like they will be willing to do anything although I will bear that in mind and if/when the next one doesn't work I will go that route... I am tired of the whole thing... frankly would like my money back but again that isn't going to fly... as they can just give me a new one that will work haha
so that is my saga
did see the lights on the tree about an hour next year as hopefully am going to find the time to take it down... when it's down need to vacuum but that will depend upon having a working generator...
am at church was indexing but decided to do my computer stuff go home and do dishes
then come back in when done one of my friends wants help in quilting not sure how much good I will be but will do a few and then to a fireside at 4
think I am going to stop at one of the vendors saw a fridge standing in the entryway ...
Judy am so sorry to hear about your uncle being so sick hopefully all will go as it needs to be

Oh, Sheila, I'm so sorry. I was hoping you had success. Can you just get your money back? This just hasn't been your winter with so much going wrong.

I'm in Casa Grande for a couple days. Ty and I have play dates with Brenda and Joey at the dog park the next two days. Then I head into Tucson for a week and hopefully have fun times there with Brenda, Eileen and Dave.

My car looks much better after yesterday's rain. The rig is getting a good wash/wax when I get to Benson.

Clouds are coming back in. I had some sprinkles diving today. Maybe more are on the way.

Nurse from ICU unit called today and said there was a hospice facility on 4th floor of the hospital, and they were thinking of sending him there, but doctor wanted to watch him for a couple more days. There is only one other hospice facility in Venice area, and it is full, and obviously, he cannot have home care because the memory care place is not adequately staffed to care for him. I asked her how long she expected him to live and she said a few days to a week, but could be a couple of weeks.

Then the hospice nurse called, and said she did not think he qualified for hospice per medicare rules. What??? He is only occasionally barely semiconscious, cannot eat or drink, is bedridden and looks like a prisoner of war, skin color is pure white, weighs about 120 pounds for 5' 10". He has advanced dementia, atrial fibrillation, heart failure, and can't maintain his body temperature. So, how much sicker do you have to be to go to hospice?????

If he can't be admitted to the hospice unit, he will be transferred to a nursing home and get some hospice care there. Anyway, I have a car reserved for tomorrow and will head up there as soon as I can pick it up.

And somehow I need to get three weeks of laundry done and a hair cut!!

Beth, there was a huge gourd festival in Casa Grande this past weekend that I would have loved to have gone to. Next year I will for sure!

Judy, that is crazy that Medicare won't cover Hospice for your uncle. I thought hospice was for care BEFORE you die! That is ridiculous!

Shiela, I hope you find a generator that finally works for you! So frustrating!

I skipped golf this morning and the luncheon since I was still feeling crampy and didn't want to take any chances. I am just gonna lay low today.

It warmed up nicely today but still very breezy. Feels good tho with the windows open.

I bought a box of the Girl Scouts peanut butter sandwich cookies the other day. They must have changed the peanut butter filling because it is much creamier and tastier than it used to be. Very yummy! They are up to $5 per box now tho! I think when I was selling them as a kid, they were .75 cents!

FYI.....I don't know the difference in regulations from state to state but the last couple months that my father (93) was in the skilled care nursing home, he received Hospice care similar to what he might have received had he been at home and receiving care from family members. Initially he received an extra 2-3 visits from a nursing assistant each week with extra baths and over all care monitoring by a Hospice nurse and Hospice physician. As his mental and physical condition deteriorated Hospice provided more consultation and approval for palliative medications for comfort and an aid to sit next to the bed 24 hours around the clock. Over the 5 years Herschel and I made Therapy Dog visit to the facility I observed similar patterns of Hospice support provided to other residence as their conditions deteriorated.

Once the family or individual agreed to DNR orders, I think it was the facilities way of providing a continuation of care options without the resident and/or their family having to be transferred to a different facility, especially if they had been there for an extended time such that it might be considered familiar like home. I know that having familiar staff around us (as family) those last 24 hours made the experience more personal and supportive...besides Herschel was allowed to stay with us the entire time. His presence sure made a difference to me......

Judy, the rule I've heard for years to qualify for Hospice, and was true in 2018 for Mel, was, your Dr signs that he/she expects you to lve less than SIX months! I don't understand the answers you are getting. I wonder if that Dr is just not wanting to let go? I experienced that with my Dad years ago and had to fire the surgeon and neurologist who could not bring themselves to let go and brought in Dads family Dr who out of compassion for his long time friend, was willing to help near the end.
I hope you get hospice to help.
