Good Morning on this cloudy Monday morning. Cold out there. 9 above here, but was surprised to see it was -17 about 18 miles from here. Temps are all over the board from -17 to 10 above depending on who had clouds and who didn’t. But it’s not unusual for this time of year. But yesterday was a beautiful but bit chilly day after the storm. Lots of winter sports folks took full advantage of the fresh snow too. The dogs and I had a nice walk for about 2 1/4 miles.

Sounds like things are getting busy in Q. Will be a busy time for you all, with visiting and whatever else you get into out there. Beth, RV shows are dangerous aren’t they. Always some way to make us part with some green I might part with some today too depending on what I decide to do about buying either a small snowblower to use on my decks, walks etc., or get a nice new recliner to replace my aging one.

Need to definitely decide how I want to plan out my end of July camping trips too, as reservations are going to be made before long. Right now I am noticing parks are not filling as fast. Guess a lot of people are holding off or too busy to think about summer stuff yet. But then, July and August are popular months and those windows aren’t totally open yet. Also need to decide on what I am going to do about new truck as my current lease is up in 90 days. Lease again or buy used. Leasing does have advantages and used isn’t cheap either. Been researching and really haven’t found any used that meets my towing criteria and when I happen to spot one, it’s more miles and same amount of green that I could buy mine for with less miles. Mi e has equipment on it that I really don’t need or use, so not really too interested in spending another 5 years paying it off. I might decide to quit hauling a trailer before then. If I leade, I can turn in after 3 years snd get a different type vehicle. Like Tina, kinda looking at the van idea. You get the idea that my brain will be working overtime here

We have had too much rain, freezing drizzle and wet snows this winter, than normal.

We went from the 60's over the weekend to feels like it is 7 degrees here. Actual temp is 17, the temperature swings have been crazy this winter.
Sue have you ever Googled the pros and cons of leasing a vehicle? I was curious as we have never leased and one thing especially that gave me pause was this." Lease contract amount doesn’t change, even after an accident. If you get into a car accident and the vehicle is totaled, you’ll still be responsible to pay back the full lease contract amount. Even if the insurance company gives you back less than what you owe to the dealership, you’ll be responsible for the full amount. If you do go with a lease, buy gap insurance which covers you for that difference that you would owe to the dealership." Having just had an encounter with my car and it creating so much damage to my front end I was really shocked! These things are made of plastic! Thankfully the frame had no damage. We have a $1,000. deductible so I'm going have a hefty out of pocket expense. I waiting to hear what the estimate is before I determine if I will turn it in to insurance. My brother said if I report it my rates could go up $100.00 a month!!! If that is true and the cost is under $2,200. I won't turn it in turn it in. We have never had a claim other than one for towing but at our age I don't know what to expect. So I'm waiting to hear from the repair place on estimate. Thankfully it is drive-able and the airbag did not go off !!! as small as I am I would probably have been damaged!! I fell like I should have on a helmet and chest protector just for the air bag!

I had three claims for hail damage in a couple year period. Those, and they were big, didn't cause a raise in my insurance. I had one claim years ago for damage caused by others negligence and after paying the claim the insurance company sent me a letter canceling my insurance. That was the first ever claim I'd made. I fought the cancellation and won. Then I changed companies on my own when the term of the policy was up.

My sister, after 30 plus years with the same insurer and NO claims ever , was dropped because she'd never had any claims. Go figure.

I just spent a fortune for a new braking system for my toad. But I needed to do it and it's a good deal here. That said, I just got a call with an added expense because the battery disconnect I got won't work for this, and, of course, the one I need is pricey. That said, it'll be in the car, so no more needing to open the hood when hooking and unhooking.

Sue, I'm glad to not deal with those winters anymore. I think they are so beautiful but don't want the work involved.

It's a cloudy day here today, which means it feels much cooler. Luckily the sun should be back tomorrow for our big gtg meal.

Beth,That really sounds crazy, being dropped for no claims but then like you say, go figure! I just had a call and repair estimate is $1200-$1300. so I won't be filing a claim. I took it to a woman who runs a very successful garage and has worked on my Toyota's since th 80's.

Beth, thumbs up for keeping it simple. When I priced the original cost those so many moons ago for my ten year old Honda. The cost for the two systems (New) including that handy switch under dash, wasn't that far apart. I never regretted going for simple.

Started off to work this morning in the dark and cold (17 degrees). So far I have managed survived training and appear to be qualifying. Wheeee! That extra warm, extra long Columbia winter coat was fully appreciated this morning. I had never seem one here in the states but saw one in a shop in Scotland. Ordered it on sale when I got home.

Drove the rig over to my fixit man for some modest cosmetic repairs that jump out at me. Can't fix or don't plan to fix the big issue of the floor but will make the rest of the rig look better cared for.
