Another Friday

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Another Friday

Good Mornng everyone. Snowing lightly this morning but will stop in a bit. Good old lake effect snow machine kicked in yesterday and dumped us with about 5 inches of Lake Superior  So need not tell you what I am going to be doing in a bit here. This is being followed by winter storm Jason, which will arrive tonight. Heavy snow predicted for weekend. Advisories are in effect starting tomorrow at 3 a.m. till Sunday afternoon. Snowblower gonna get a work out next few days.

Judy, glad you got your reservations all in place. I’m waiting to make some in U.P for July. Window opens next week.
When and where are you going to be in U.P. Or lower for that matter? You can PM me with that if you don’t want to take up room in a forum post. If you are in U.P. In mid June, be aware you will hit black fly season especially the western end. Or you might miss it depending on weather. I agree about places being far and few between going west. I’ve been across on U.S. 2, long stretches of nothing except small town here and there.

Barbie, hope you find out what’s with the cart batteries. How old are they? May not be holding a charge. Nice of your neighbor to loan you hers. Have fun exploring.

Lyn, hope tbe rehab helps with your SOB.

I see others starting to make some plans for summer or thinking on them. Also seems like everybody’s into project mode this winter. I finished scrapbook and today of course is snow blowing and want to go to town. Might pop into the RV show although they have more big expensive trailers than I care about, but interesting to see the new model designs.

Gotta get going here. Have a nice day everyone.

Getting mentally ready to head back to my seasonal work contract/s starting on Monday. I have spend that last week emptying out the RV and getting it ready to put on the market. Given its age, mileage (66,000) and condition, it is time. If you know anyone interested in a greatly reduced 2014, Thor Vegas, let me know. The soft area from past water leaks and resultant soft area in the bathroom floor greatly reduces its usefulness/value to dealers but for someone with repair skills that isn't paying "shop" rates to repair it would be a great value and have many many more miles and adventures.

Unloading "stuff" and sorting into piles of "throw away", "give away" or "put away" has provided me with many hours of contemplative thoughts....many of which reflect on memories, dreams, reality and the meaning of "stuff" and "belongs" to our lives......

And for anyone that might think this is a sudden decision. This is not. I started imagining it on the drive back East last winter while observing several women traveling in their "vans". I imagined it again this past November as I made the quick and fast drive to and from Oklahoma with Josef in my van for his last series of shows. I imagined it again as I drove to and from Florida for my recent visit as I drive down the Interstate hauling the Honda behind me.

So, yes, there might be a used Class B in the distance future but for now (because I am not willing to simplify down to a tent) I will move to simplify my living and feel lucky to have a van to travel with if I want and need to.

Good Morning, we had some rain last night, and, a little this morning. Every little bit is welcome. My visit to pulmonary rehab quite interesting. They offer a six week course consisting of meetings twice a week involving both lectures and introducing exercises specific to ones problems with breathing. I said I wanted to take the course, so they gave me a six minute walking test. I did not pass the test with flying colors! The respiratory therapist said I may not participate until she talks with my cardiologist and gets an OK from him for me to continue. (I have three doctors now. My primary, a pulmonologist and a cardiologist). This getting old business is not fun...however it is better for than not getting old!!!
Seeing as I have Hugh family in town, that is fun!
Sunday I go to daughters to watch football. That will be a wild gathering!
To all those heading for Q, and those there now, have a great time and know I am thinking of you all and wishing I were with you. Lyn

Got up early and borrowed my neighbors golf cart with my map of the park with the yard sales marked on it. Drove all around to each one (36 I think!). Got some good buys! Bought 2 pairs of pants and tried them on once I got home and they both fit perfectly! Last night at the store, I almost bought a banana bread mix but remembered I don't have a loaf pan, so what do you think I found at one of the sales? A loaf pan! :D

I did get to the store last night and got pretty much all the food and supplies I need for Q. Now to finish cleaning house today. Tomorrow will be packing and bringing stuff to the trailer and getting that set up. Also need to get the propane tank filled and put on the trailer.

The rain on the coast never made it out here last night. Beautiful day today altho was pretty chilly this morning (sweater weather for me, parka weather for most others! )

Have a good day whether you are shoveling snow or lounging in the sun!
Barbie, Romeow, and Sophie, missing Lola! (and lots of ferrets running around in my heart!)

Sue, I sent you two messages, but at least the first got hung up in the Outbox. Anyway, I am going to be at Wilderness SP (upper area), for two days, June 23 to 24, checking out the 25th. Next stop is Pictured Rocks RV Park in Munising, for three days, June 25-27, checking out of June 28. Then on to McLain SP in Houghton, but only there two nights as I want to make it to Duluth for June 30 through July 2, leaving July 3. Before that I am not sure what I will be doing in Michigan. I want to spend a few days with my niece in TC and visit a cousin in Kaleva, north of Cadillac. Will let you know those days when I get close.

Got my water pump fixed this morning. Apparently, the wiring was messed up so it was an easy fix. They also put my back window valence up and rehung my MCD shades, so no more hanging a sheet over that window at night.

It was very calm yesterday and the day before, but windy and big waves today. I really like watching the big waves, but I am staying off the beach for a while. Got a rash of some sort on one foot from the beach. Might be several small bites, but all I know is that it was keeping me up in the middle of the night last night with itching.

Hi all.
It's a snow day in KS so the office is closed. I still do some work but in a much more relaxed pace. :D I've proposed a part-time schedule (3-day workweek) - waiting to see what they think about it. I start taking care of newest grand in a couple of weeks. Will see if he's as easy as Olivia was.
We had a nice rain overnight. This morning they took down a huge eucalyptus tree just a few feet down from my patio. Didn't realize how much shade I was getting from it until now. I might actually have to turn on my A/C more this summer. The sunshine feels good right now though.
Well, better get back to work.
Take care everyone!

Lyn, your ears should be ringing. Sheila and I have talked about you several times. I do believe it's my first time during the show that you won't be here. You are missed. I'm just hoping I'm in as good shape as you are as time passes. I must say my new doctor has, so far, been a great help compared to my last. My asthma is much more under control. Still a problem even walking hills, but Ty and I went a couple miles yesterday.

Catherine, I hope they go the 3 day week for you. And I know you're looking forward to having the new grand.

Judy, good job planning your summer. I can't imagine doing that lol

Tina, I was first surprised, then not surprised by your news. I loved traveling the last two years without a toad. But I missed having a car while workamping. So I'm back with a toad. I'll be waiting to see what you end up with. :)

I went to the Farmers market this morning. Then took the rv over to dump and fill my fresh water tank. The morning started out gorgeous, but by the time I got to the dump station the winds had picked up. Here's hoping they disappear. Ok they are only 10-18 mph, but made me put my sweatshirt on. They should be gone tomorrow.

Alice (Ava) and friend arrived yesterday. Brenda arrives tomorrow. I'd have to look up dates for others.

I never thought I'd want to stay in Q a month or more but I've been enjoying it. I'm looking forward to checking out Imperial Dam, a ltva near Yuma, after leaving here. Maybe a winter bouncing between them could be doable. I don't have my kayak with, but am interested in seeing if it would be doable at Imperial Dam.

Ty is sleeping. He had to keep alert all morning and early afternoon on these errands. He's exhausted.

Judy, glad you got your repairs done. I have better luck with the independent repair places than the dealers. I'm glad I don't have to do all the trip planning that you do or I would never get anywhere.

Tina, good luck on selling your motorhome. If you can find someone that will take it as a trade in on a van it would be less of a headache. If I knew I would be camping alone I would downsize to a van.

I needed to go to the post office so made it to town. Picked up my weekly fish dinner and a few groceries. Today was cooler than yesterday but at least it wasn't snowing. I heard it raining several times last night and it looks like we got about another inch. Tomorrow will be our last warm day for a while and more rain coming.
