Have a safe trip and a wonderful time, Alice. I’m getting ready to hit the road here too, I think. Reason I say that is, it’s just up to my local truck dealer to have a small recall issue checked. But it’s snowing and weather advisories are posted, so I’m waiting for a bit more daylight to see if I want to go, or reschedule it.
Was a busy day yesterday, so no time to start any coffee. You all know what “payday” means for us seniors. Bank, shopping and whatever else. And being yesterday was just cloudy, was a good day to run errands up here. Then there was the late afternoon dog walk. Took a nice long one yesterday, about 2 1/2 miles as know we will be lucky to get one in today.
JudyJB, sounds like you are getting your summer plans in order. Let me know when and where you will be in MI, as I might just be in the U.P. at same time. I had thought of going to Theodore Roosevelt NP too, but decided to wait till I am going that way rather than make a special trip just for that. Did you happen to let look at the park’s official website page. There are alerts in place, one of which is the one road is closed indefinitely from mile 24 to 28 due to road deterioration. Can Only bike or bike past that point. So I am going to explore the Keweenaw National Historic Park, the ghost towns and waterfalls of the Keweenaw Peninsula and around. Might go to the Apostle Islands in WI too.
Well, better get dressed and get a move on here. Y’all have a nice day out there.

Not for me, darn it! Although I do get to go today to my first visit to “Pulmonary Rehabilitations “. Don’t know what to expect. Have no idea they do there. However, I am looking forward to the appt.
I am getting around the area where I live on my motorized scooter. That was a good decision/buy. Went all the way to Sea Port Village along the water front the other day.
Read a good book...see book recommendations.

Well started out the morning chilly, couple hours later big white flakes falling from the sky. They are still steadily coming down. The passes all around me, any direction I go, are either closed or having issues. The freeway I-5 is closed from 7Feathers down to Redding. Expecting way more snow this afternoon especially in the Mt Shasta part of the freeway so I suspect there will be lots of closures on the freeway. Me, I am tucked in at home under my heated throw with a dog attached to my side LOL
Had a really good lunch yesterday Mexican. Havent had mexican food for months so it was very tasty. I will go to that restaurant again.
Was thinking of making a small pot of soup today, will need to research some good low cal soups. I took some fish out for dinner but it will keep until tomorrow, in fact it is still pretty much frozen.
Debating on a shower or just hanging out in my sweats today....hmmmmmmm

I should have known better to make my reservations for my drive from the UP of Michigan to Montana. There are very long stretches without state parks of decent campgrounds, or even Forest Service places that will accommodate my 32 feet of motorhome. PLUS, and this is the thing I was dumb not to plan for, is that the 4th of July is right in the middle of when I want to go.
I still have some holes to fill, especially the 3rd and 4th, but am hoping one campground has spaces, so left message. I don't like to drive more than 200 miles in a day, and there are some COE places along lakes, but some are full and one has a 30 mile rough dirt road getting to it. I should have made plans for 4th a long time ago, but I am coordinating my plans so I can meet my son and his family in Idaho and then following them into Bend, OR.
Summer is a pain, but at least I am ahead of the late July and August reservations for federal sites, but I need to decide where I really want to spend that time before I head to Lake Louise and Banff in late August. Maybe Wyoming or Colorado where it might be cool???

Another very foggy morning and the haze hasn't completely lifted yet. I am loving the January heat, it's 83. They are predicting a freeze for Monday night. Boo!
Not much going on. I need to go to town today or tomorrow. Looks like it will be tomorrow.
I had been thinking about Harold's best friend so called him this morning. He's getting around about like I am. I am feeling better than I was at the campout. I don't know why I was so sore. I am back to walking everyday. Those darn cats track me like blood hounds. If I manage to get away from them they are sitting in the road waiting for me when I get back.

Began sprinkling here about an hour ago. Good day to stay in and putter. Have a cupboard I want to empty and put back only what is needed. Handyman was coming but he was up and down off ladder at neighbors yesterday fixing their gutter and between that and chilly weather, he's down for the count, with his fiancée threatening him if he doesn't behave and rest today. I may suggest to her what Mel's Navy Nurse did years ago when he was in the hospital and wouldn't stay in bed- she took his pants away- and on a 60 bed open bay ward, that workd to enforce bed rest ! Ava, travel safe and have fun. Lyn, hope rehab proves helpful. Judy, hope your plans for summer come together. Sue and Karen, stay warm and safe with snow coming down. Martha enjoy your walks. Everyone else stay safe and enjoy your day.

I went out with Ty this morning, late morning I should say, telling him this will be a shorter walk. I guess after I got going I was fine and we did over 7000 steps. Another morning I posted I'd be going to dump today. But I had my days confused (so normal now) and will do that tomorrow. Not that a day really matters. My inside organization here isn't going well. I have more stacks out to sort and things are a worse disaster in here.
But that means I am doing something lol
I had never heard of Kneaders, the restaurant Sheila suggested for lunch when I accompanied her to Yuma. While I usually avoid chains, I would definitely go to one again.
See you soon, Alice.

Went to bed early last night and slept good. Got up fairly early today and have been busy. Already washed 3 loads of clothes, took out the trash, visited with my next door neighbor, did a haircut on another neighbor, and just ate lunch. Still need to put clean clothes away, clean the bathroom and kitchen, and then see how much time or energy I have left after that to work on other stuff. Oh yeah, I didn't get to the store last night so I still need to do that too.
Velda, I love the story about stealing Mels pants!
Some guys wouldn't care, and would just walk around without them anyways!
Lola has decided the porch is her new place now. She loves to sit out there. I want to put a cat perch in one of the windows for her. Will work on that when I get back from Q.
Have a great day!

Got a few more things done. My golf cart batteries were really low so I plugged it in several hours ago and so far no charge! Dang! Will have to call the cart guy to come back out and see what is wrong with it now. Always something!
Tomorrow is the community yard sale again and I want to go around and check it all out. Since my cart is not running, my neighbor across the street is letting me use hers to run around the park with.
Had another neighbor ask about me giving him and his wife haircuts soon. Told them I can do it when I get back from my vacation.

Good news! I now have reservations for the entire period from June 23 to July 9th. There is one missing day, July 10, but I can fill that in. After I am done visiting with my son, my DIL, and the kids, I am thinking of heading over to Tillicum Campground on the Pacific north of Yachats. Then maybe to LePage for a couple of relaxing weeks, and finally on to Waterton, Alberta, and on to Lake Louise and Banff. Whew!!
Can't get reservations at federal campgrounds for a few weeks, but it ought to be easy since I will be going online as soon as they open for a particular site, and that will take care of the rest of the summer. Then it is always a LOT easier in the fall to find places so not too worried about them, especially since I have a reservation for Labor Day weekend.
Remind me to cover the big holidays longer in advance, especially if I am going to be in busy places!!
