First Monday of January

Morning from cloudy northern Michigan. Although the clouds are clearing and maybe some sun later. Clipper came through yesterday afternoon and dumped about 4 inches or so if snow on us. So this morning’s project will be blowing and shoveling for a bit. Been a crazy Wi ter with mild then cold temp, rain, snow, freezing drizzle going round and round.

Sorry to hear you gals in Q are under the weather, hope you get to feeling better soon. Lyn, congrats on the new twin great grands. O’Sharon, take some breaks with the purging. Need a day off once in a while to do something fun. I can usually go intense on a project for maybe 3 days and then need to stop and do something else. Martha, enjoy your camping trip. I’m tossing ideas around in my head right now. To early to make reservations for later this coming summer.

Barbie, sounds like you now have a second cat and she seems to be living one too. Beth, is Linda coming back to the store this summer?

Good Morning, when the trailer was unloaded, everything got dumped in my bedroom and closet.!!! Attempting to get it cleaned and sorted. What a mess!! Although, the trailer not sold, a couple have been looking at it and are interested.
Babies are doing well. Weighted enough so that they are able to stay in room with Mom. Lots of excitement in family yesterday.
Lyn

Excitement for sure, Lyn. Hope everyone pitches in to help out the Mom! The one big perk about getting old: Getting grandkids and great-grandkids!

So glad that the twins are healthy and big enough to not have to stay in a NICU. Lark and Audrey had a successful weekend and now both have earned two legs towards their Rally Novice B performance titles. Different kind of dog show but even after ten years it came back to me. Still a day spent with nice dogs and meeting nice people is a good day......

Turns out Kerry was gone most of the day yesterday, so her back was doing better. I'm getting my errands done today. I already filled propane and am sitting in line at the dump station. I've always been lucky before with short lines here but must have picked a bad time of day. I'll be here awhile. And I'm behind all big rigs... Takes them much longer. Oh well.

Congrats on the twins, Lyn. The fun is just beginning. My sister (she's a pediatric nurse & mother of a set of twins & 6 other kids) told my brother & sister-in-law, just keep them alive the first year - then the fun really begins. ;)
Sorry folks aren't feeling well. Hope it passes quickly.

I have big news! - I drove up into the mountains to Big Bear Lake this past weekend!!!! Most of you know how much I HATE mountain driving. We had rented a lake front house for the weekend for the California kids & grands to have some fun. I googled & studied the roads & finally decided to take the longer, but more gentle route (the 38 rather than the 18 for those who know this area). It was great! My son took the 18 which is more direct but also more curvy. Although my route was 20 miles longer, we both made it home at the same time due to less traffic on my route. I'm so delighted that I was able to do it. Driving the minivan was so much easier than driving the travelin' van. Now I'm ready for more travels. :D

Have fun at the Q everyone!
Take care,
Catherine

Good for you, Catherine! I bet everyone had a ball. Personally, I can see Big Bear's snow from my patio and that's as close as I want to get! Lived the first 50 years in the stuff and firmly believe the stork made a mistake dropping me in New England! Working on the next 50 years in the sun!

Tell us all about your trip!

I love Big Bear! I have only been there once, in the summer. I went up 18 and it is windy but very beautiful! Glad you had a good time. The shops there are so cute! Good to know that 38 is an easier drive. That would be the closer route from here.
