Winter Sunday

Good morning to all of you! After having a string of nicer temps it looks like winter in back again. It’s cold and windy today. Just a dreary day. Thinking spring! Reservations are made for a few days in Benezette for elk viewing in September. So far that’s the only reservations made. Any other trips will happen as they happen. I’ve managed to get some more purging done and realize it’s a huge task. Well, I've known that but sometimes it gets overwhelming and I need to back off from it for awhile. Luckily I’m not on any time schedule for it! So that’s about all I’ve been doing for the last few days. As usual, just enjoying reading what the rest of you are doing. So that’s about it for me today. Hope you have a great day and travel safe.

Congratulations Lyn, how precious. Have had a busy morning. I too am purging but at a slow pace. Tomorrow purging the contents of a desk. I dont know how I acquired hundreds of pens over the years. LOL Lots of other stuff just put in there, out of sight out of mind. But tomorrow it needs attention. I am trying to do a project a day...some small some larger. So far working for me pretty well.

I dont have any camping reservations yet but have a few favorites that I can usually find a spot at and if not there are others.

Lunch up at the Casino (about 80 miles from me) with a couple of RV gals I met last year. My neighbor wants to go too so should be fun. A couple of others from over the mountain to the east were going to come but worried about the snow supposedly coming to the passes this afternoon. I dont blame them, I am cautious in my older age. Years ago, oh heck who worries about that stuff. Well I do now. Laundry done, showered, breakfast oh yeah ready to rock and roll.

Oh Lynn! That is so exciting! Twins!

Sharon, the purging thing can be overwhelming. I am in the same process. I decided to rent a small storage space to bring the bins and boxes from my porch and living room, so I can have more space to go thru and organize what is left and then gradually bring in the stuff from storage to integrate or purge as I go. I think that will be less overwhelming for me.

Yesterday was stressful at work. There have been some negative things going on for awhile with and between stylists, which I have tried to stay out of and mind my own business. A couple of them have gotten written up recently several times. One guy has been written up twice in just the past two weeks for harassment and a bad attitude (he has a crush on me so he is always nice to me). I worked with him and another gal yesterday. It was a very busy day. He clocked out for lunch at noon. When he came back, he gave a woman a conditioning treatment and while she was under the dryer, he did a haircut on a man. Then did a blowout style on the woman (and maybe a haircut, I was too busy to notice), but I and the other stylist realized he wasn't clocked back in for those services. We asked him about it and he said he was still on break. This was an hour and a half after he clocked out! I think the man and woman were his parents. So it was really just two of us trying to keep up with all the customers with almost an hour wait! I was so pissed! I called my manager and told her what was going on. Like I said, I usually just try to mind my own business but this was affecting me and the customers. When he finally clocked back in (after 2 hours), the other stylist was done with her shift and left. So I wasn't able to take my break since we were still really busy. Anyways, I think he may get fired over this. Three write ups in two weeks is grounds for termination. We'll see what happens...

The guy who hit my car in the parking lot a couple weeks ago, contacted me and offered me $400 to pay for the damage, and I accepted the offer. The damage is so minimal, just a couple scratches, that I don't plan to get it fixed, so I will put the money to better use. My taxes are due so that will help with those.

I have today off. Need to bring some stuff to the trailer and start getting the porch cleared out. I want to get it at least more user-friendly for Lily. She came by last night (actually was waiting for me on the deck when I got home). I brought her inside for a bit and then put her out in the porch. She slept out there for quite awhile before leaving later. I want to get a litter box set up and make it more comfortable for her so I can keep her in there at night. I think I will try to crate her and take her in to my vet for a check up. She has a few small bumps on her that I want checked out. May just be wounds from cat fights but they may be infected.

Out with the sweets, breads, potatoes, pasta etc.,
 That is my whole diet right there!! What else is left to eat?? I would starve to death!

have a cold energy level if on a scale of 0-5 would be perhaps a 1  slept most of the afternoon yesterday today got out of bed about 12 yep no church... decided that I may have been taught to share but perhaps colds shouldn't be so generous with... then find out via FB a friends house (rv) in one of the parks burned down last night not sure what caused it they are elderly (aren't we all???) her husband thankfully was in the hospital as he uses a wheelchair... they would have both perished I am sure as she would have worked hard to get him out one of my fun memories of them is him being in a wheel chair and she pushing him while in one of those walker things for the leg not sure of the name of it but the leg is bent and on rollers... not funny but funny if you get the idea... I don't know how they will cope with this...
on in the day time so that I can use the solar but even though the sun is up want to get off so the batteries can recharge from my using them this afternoon.... and the couch is calling my name

Congratulations Lyn!

We had another sunny day. My thermometer says the high was 74 but I went fishing and it sure didn't feel that warm. It was pretty breezy. The fish were biting just enough to keep me interested for a couple of hours. I actually caught a crab. He's an addition from Hurricane Barry plus a bunch of trash fish. I am trying to catch the mud catfish and get them out.

Carolyn and I are going to eat lunch with Cheryl in Lafayette tomorrow. She is passing through on the way to Florida.

I need to start my list for Wednesday camping but can't find the tablet I make my lists on. Hope I remember to turn my refrigerator on tomorrow. It takes 2 days for it to get cold.

I cooked a piece of steak in my air fryer and it was really good. I am liking it more and more. Guess you just have to use these things to learn how.

Martha

Woohoo, Lyn! Congrats! Martha I agree with Karen the other day about chicken. I've never had to cook wings more than 20 minutes. And I agree with you that it takes practice. I keep making the same things. I need to get more creative.

I've been a slug today. I've lived with headaches most of my life. Some days they are simply overwhelming. Today was one of those days. Sheila's been staying in with her cold and Kerry's back was bothering her a lot yesterday and I didn't see any action around her rig. I guess we're just getting old lol. I had intended to take my rig to dump and check if I need gas or propane. That's now on tomorrow's agenda. Tuesday I take the car to Algodones and the dentist. I'll fill the car with gas at Sam's Club in Yuma before driving back. Probably will run in for a couple items. I want a bag of pistachio nuts and the price there is always the best on those.
