Happy 2020 ladies~~~

Time to check in for the new decade. Hope your new year is just what you want and need, with an extra dash of health and wealth tossed in for additional fun.

I'm still in Texas until Sunday. Weather is a bit on the chilly side with some rain thrown in every few days. As of now, I'm still going to Florida even tho Dad decided not to go. Fingers crossed I don't run into any severe weather getting there.

Have a great day!

Morning Cheryl and Happy 2020 everybody. As Cheryl said it's also Rabbits Roll Call day. So c’mon everybody. Chime in and we’ll get this forum off to a good start for this new decade.

A lot has changed on this forum over the past 10 years. We have lost some members who have gone to that RV Highway in the sky, some who have hung up the keys due to age, health issues or spending more time in other pursuits, we’ve had new members come and go, new technology that has vastly improved our RV lifestyle while out in the road, giving us a chance to follow dreams while keeping in touch with the world, styles and changes in RV’s have been dramatic, the advent of Facebook has drawn many away as well due to it’s popularity, ease of posting etc., many of us are getting older and not going as far anymore and GTG’s are getting fewer, some have formed or Joined other groups closer to where they live.

We’ve got a great and caring bunch of ladies here. I feel like I can go anywhere and be welcomed. And I’ve gotten a lot of help and advice from here and met many of you wonderful ladies personally in my travels. How many of us ever thought we would make friends with strangers all over the country. We’ve enjoyed sharing pictures of our adventures, GTG’s etc. But I’ve also noticed that we are getting some new members too who aren’t getting much response to their Introductions or questions regarding new rigs or advice or suggestions what to do about various things. I have to admit that I’ve been lax in that area as well as birthday wishes to those of you with birthdays. Let’s face it gals, how many of us go into a panic when the forum is down :o  Let’s make keeping this forum going into this next decade so we can enjoy sharing our expertise, caring, listening ears and whatever else we want to share, our resolution for 2020, whether new members or old, whether still on the road or or have hung up the keys. Happy travels all, whether virtual or real.

On the brighter side for now, my trailer is sitting here, covered in a trailer cover with a blanket of white on it’s roof, awaiting another spring that’s 4 months away instead 8 :D And now that January is here, I will be starting to make plans for this year. Maybe some of us will even be heading to the same place and it will be GTG time.

Happy New Year. I have made it back through the fine city of Atlanta on I-75 once again two days ago. I am currently parked in a campground in Renfro Valley, KY, and am about to head out on the final leg back to Lebanon this morning. Glad that I made the run down to Florida, maybe it will help inspire me through the cold mornings as I head off to work to earn more travel money. I enjoyed catching up with friends and taking a couple of paddles on the water. There will be a blog post eventually.

Good morning & Happy New Year Cheryl, Sue, Tina & everyone!

Cheryl, I need to check the message you sent awhile back to see the dates you'll be in FL. Sue, you made lots of good points about the forum so lets all of us keep it going. Tina, I'm so glad we were able to gtg while you were in FL.

We watched the ball drop last night inside the comfort of our motorhome. It was just Steve & I but we had a good time just the same. We had crab cakes and steamed shrimp for dinner, which hit the spot and have enough leftover for lunch today.

Of course, I forgot rabbits. I was too busy trying to find the fire works in Dallas. I finally found them on CBS. I forgot about the Rose Parade this morning but it looks like RFD is replaying it for people with short attention spans. I love roses. I have a rose bed on the end of my house. Getting it into shape should be one of my projects this year.

I had told my son I wasn't cooking today but I have to do the black eyed peas and cabbage. I never did buy a head of cabbage but I have a can of cabbage.

I forget to check the new member post and am one of the ones that goes into a panic when the forum is down. Don't know what I would do with out my forum friends.

Happy New Year

Martha

Here's hoping for a happy and healthy 2020! And that our new members join in more often and more join. I prefer our laid back forum to the groups on FB. And have also made lifelong friends from members here. Sue, I agree with your hope for the forum to last another decade and even longer.

Enjoy today and everyday people!

Good morning and Happy New Year. Not sure where 2019 went but gone it is and I’m looking forward to 2020. Not sure what it’ll bring but always an adventure! I’m so grateful for the forum and the chance to meet some of you in person and on these pages. Well said, Sue. I did remember to say rabbits as the ball was dropping! I’m kinda glad the holidays are over and things go back to normal! Spent a quiet Christmas at home and today will be the same. We’ve had some lovely days that make me wish that I could sneak off for an overnight but then reality strikes and know the next day may bring freezing temps and snow! We have a bit of snow on the ground from yesterday’s weather but so far nothing much. We’ve had rain so we’re getting moisture. And mud! Lots of mud! So other then the weather not much happening in my world! And that’s okay! Calm is good! Have a good day and hoping for good health and safe travels to all of you this year.

Good morning on this fine day in 2020. I too have made lifelong friends on this forum and a previous one that went defunct but many transferred over here and that makes me happy. I have met so many wonderful people on here. Hope to meet many more.

I fell asleep on the couch with the dog before 9pm so guess I will have to watch a rerun or wait until next year LOL Not a big deal really.

Have to get my project for the day done. my 30 projects for 30 days starts today. Going to be breaking down all my cardboard boxes, gather garbage, newspapers and head over to the recycle bins. Then head to the grocery store since I am continuing on my "healthy" eating program. I have lost 4 lbs and would like that to continue. Not doing Keto this time, just doing low carb. Limiting pasta, breads etc I am counting calories but more for info to see if I am on track or if I lost my mind and ate way too many LOL Then need to take the dog for a walk this afternoon. It is the only real exercise I get in the winter. In the summer I am outside so much of the time but winter, nah, I like my couch and heated throw way too well LOL

Hope everyone has a great 2020. I am looking forward to more camping.

I too feel like I have met good friends here. I tell people who are concerned about my traveling alone that I am never really alone because I have lady friends all over the place I could call on in an emergency. So, many thanks to the founders and admins of this forum!

Son and kids went skiing today since the Cleveland area got snow. I am at their house with my DIL, and she may end up taking me to the airport if they do not get back by 4:00 pm, which is when I have to leave here. Will not get to Portland until very late, and have to drive to Eugene tomorrow morning for a quick doctor appoint, my next to last, and then back to Portland for an evening flight to Sacramento where California son will pick me up. Whirlwind trip, but it gets me to two kids families and to the doctor.

Happy New Year!

I was scheduled to work until 2 yesterday but my manager went home sick and asked me to stay later. I finally left after 5pm so was a long, busy day! My wrist was hurting a lot all day. Arthritis in that too.

I had planned to watch the NY's Eve festivities at a Palm Springs casino on a local news channel from 10:30 to midnight but I was falling asleep on the couch by 9pm so I went to bed and fell right to sleep. I don't think I moved all night because I woke up on my back and I never do that. I did remember to say "rabbits" this morning!

Got up in time to see the Rose Parade. Am disappointed that there are only two main networks showing it. HGTV and the Travel Channel used to air it and they never had commercials. Now I have to deal with commercials thru the parade. But that is when I read the posts on here which has taken awhile this morning. When I get to the last post, I update the page and a few more posts show up and give me more to read. :)

I got my mouth guard and am using that at night now. It is making a difference when I wake up in the morning. No stiffness, sore teeth or locking jaw. But still grind my teeth during the day so my teeth and jaws are sore later in the day. The guard is kind of bulky so I can't wear it to work but I have it in now at home.

This past year has been busy and lots of changes with selling my Vista house and buying my Indio house. Never would have believed that a year ago! Amazing how your life can change (for better or worse) in just a year! Nothing major on my list of resolutions this year. Just get more settled in to my new home and get caught up financially. Just keep things easy going and fun this year. :D

I am thankful for this forum and you ladies! I have gotten so much support, inspiration, encouragement, advice, and friendship from you all. Thank you!

Happy New Year to all my dear forum friends! Slept through the midnight hoopla! Am sitting here watching the Rose Parade. Been many times. Have sat up all night, and slept on the street. Love the bands and the beautiful horses. One year went to the area where they park the floats after the parade. The smells there were fantastic! I have also walked around on New Year’s Eve to watch the decorating of the floats. Last time I was there was 2006 when it poured down rain!

Today is beautiful...sunny and cold. Nice post Sue. This forum has been wonderful for me. I am so glad I found all of you. Mycercumstances are/have changed drastically now. Although trailer not sold, it is all cleaned and parked in a driveway where it will be seen by drivers and walkers going by. I’d gave up my storage space. That was a very sad experience.

I go to pulmonary rehabilitation on the 16th. Hope they can help with the severe SOB! I love the mobility scooter I have! Benji is getting good walks and I enjoy going around town. There is a big cruise ship in right now. And, there are five “super yachts “. Tied up at the convention center. Those are priced at $93 million dollars! That is starting price!!!

Keeping all of you in. My thoughts for an enjoyable 2020! Lyn

I too am happy I found the forum. I belonged to the one before this where we had that rather 'stern man' !! named I believe Dave as the moderator! I was so happy to find many of that group here!! I never imagined making friends with strangers all over the country but it has been a wonderful experience. We have shared so many joys and sorrows together over the years. I will never forget Sparkles adventures and Little Bunny Foo Foo!! Oh how we all laughed and were entertained by their adventures and how sad we were when Sparkles light faded.
Happy New Year to all and may we find new adventures and new roads to explore together in the future.
