Parts of me are mourning the loss of another year (they go by so fast the older we are) but another part is welcoming a new year that will bring, hopefully, some new beginnings.

My furnace worked properly all night. Yay. We are definitely in a cold spell in the desert. I saw a cute meme on FB this morning of Buffalo, N.Y. saying cold is relative. Yes, they had warmer temps than Las Vegas, Phoenix, San Diego, etc. Cute, but unfortunately true. At least we're warming up and getting sun again. The desert has needed this rain (no monsoon season to speak of this past summer/fall) but I think they may have caught up.

Good morning Beth, and all who follow. Sun is streaming in my window. It was in 30s last night but will warm today. I'm going to go to Curves to finish the year strong, then hopefully get what we need for new years and spend rest of weekend away from crowds. Sunday will be our last Sunday having church at 11:30 as our ward rotates to the 9 o'clock slot. Ugh how I hate getting up that early. But we take our turn in a building with multiple congregations. So guess my New Years resolution better be, go to bed earlier esp on Saturday. it's hard to believe its the start of the second full calendar year since Mel died. Hopefully between Handyman Sean and I many of the ongoing needed updates and repairs to the house will be completed. Between my post op eye visits and the VA, I have to stay in the area for a while, but I hope to travel again in summer and fall. Have a great rest of your day and weekend.

Sun is out, the lake in my back yard is gone, and I have lots to do today. I want to get out with my camera and take pics of the snow on the mountains again. I picked up a SD card reader yesterday so I can get my camera photos onto my laptop, since I still haven't found the cord yet.

Haven't seen Lily since Christmas Eve but the food is disappearing when I fill the dish. I have see the orange tabby here once or twice so hopefully both of them are getting their fair share.

I called my brother, David, last night and we had a nice conversation. He sounded good but when I asked him how he was doing, he just said "OK" in kind of a sad way. My SIL said she is working on getting him into an adult daycare program, so hopefully that will help him. I had suggested that to her awhile back. I hope she also took my advice on getting into a caregiver support group.

I better get moving here...have a good day!

Cloudy and chilly here this morning 20° but warmed up to a balmy 40° LOL I drove up to a little town by 7Feathers today and met Laura (CougarFan) for lunch. She drove down from Salem and I drove up. We met at a little diner we found when we were camping. Was good to visit in person and catch up on comings and goings. Stopped at the store and picked up a few things, then went to Costco for gas as it is the cheapest around it was very busy but it was on the way so that worked out well.

Tomorrow night I am going to a birthday party for one of my neighbors. So that will be fun then Sunday I have absolutely nowhere I have to be.....yippee
