And It's Friday

It's still morning here, but just barely. Ty and I went on a walk. I wanted to do one of the trails here but it's one of those "can't get there from here" situations lol. I thought I could and learned different, but we got our exercise learning that. I don't understand these beautiful parks with so many trails but they don't have one or more loops that can be done directly from the cg.

Nights have been cold making for great sleeping weather. It's a beautiful, sunny day today. This afternoon Ty may help me see if we can connect a trail and the road for another walk.

Morning is over here now. Been to Costco, did a little housecleaning and we will be playing Mexican train this afternoon. Since I have had a busy week I am looking forward to just some "me" time this weekend.

I am tackling my old Windows 7 computer this weekend. I want to get any pictures off of it and delete any apps or sites that are on it as I need to take it to the recycle center. Also have an old laptop that I need to check also. Just something I have needed to do for a while and just never get around to. Then taking a couple bags of clothes and shoes to the donation center.

Not sure what I will fix for Christmas day meal but I do have some shrimp and scallops in the freezer that I think will be good to fix. Just going to have a quiet day, me and the dog. Sounds perfect to me. Been invited to a couple of neighbors for dinner but I declined. I really do like my own company, but I appreciate their offers.

I have committed myself to go back to healthy eating as I got on the scales and scared myself. I now have more pounds to lose than last year..............so time to get it together. I have been eating some things that should be "treats" instead of staples LOL So will just go back to my carnivore/seafood and veggie/salads. Yup that should work, we shall see.

Hi Beth & Karen and everyone! Beth, I had the same frustration trying to find walking paths when we were out west. Not sure why they are hidden.

Karen, I need to buckle down on my eating, too. Steve eats much differently than I do, so he eats his way & I eat my way. I don't mind fixing two different meals, if it means I eat the way I want, and he understands that. He had mashed potatoes tonight with his meal and we both had green bean salad as a side. He prefers steak to my pork chops, but he grilled them both outside, so it was a win-win. I admire your tenacity to stick with the program.

Tina, have a good time with Liz and Tina!

We woke up to temps in the mid 50's and almost got to 70. Tomorrow may be warmer but lots of clouds will be moving in. Sunday looks like a washout. I don't like going to church in the rain, but it looks like it will be wet round trip.

We filled 3 stockings for friends at the campground. The first couple will be coming Sunday. as they are leaving Monday to go to Alabama to have Christmas with his son. I still need to contact the other two couples to do the same thing. Christmas Day should be decent weather, so we are hoping to have a couple people over to share the spiral ham and mandarin salad and whatever else I decide to make. Tina, if you're in the area, you are welcome!

one of the reasons I decided to stay on till Saturday was so I could watch the Friday night shows so instead of Hawaii 5 Oh it's be I love Lucy... Wonder what will be in place of Blue Bloods?
I got most of what I wanted to get done done... didn't make cookies as I went to get the oatmeal and wasn't the right type quick instead of old fashioned... and at this moment I am feeling oh so guilty for going... but my nephew can empty the commode he just doesn't want to and won't do it willingly... but can't say as I blame him not the funnest thing to do but it's not that hard either dump rinse replace oh and flush the toilet... he sleeps all day so I am sure that my sister is worried about getting food ect clean clothes.... but I have some wants as well like my own bed... a Christmas tree if I get it up and decorated.... wanting to be there so if the rv mechanic is in Q we can get something started... guess we will see... how I feel in the AM I also am getting grumpy time for me to leave..

Worked from 10-3 today. Went to pick up the battery and stopped at Walmart. Then to church for the candlelight service. That was very nice! Made me think of some personal changes I need to make this coming year.

Am hanging out with Lola and sipping on Egg Nog with Baileys. Very good! Off to bed shortly since I go back to work in the morning.

Winter solstice today. Shortest day of the year. From now on the daylight will get longer each day. Yay!

Karen, to give you incentive, Dr Ken Berry just posted a really good video on new research into connection between diet and Macular Degeneration with lots of links to research. The surprise is its not as much carbohydrate as seed oils!
