Tuesday - One week to Christmas

Morning all. Bit of sun this morning but won’t last long. Arctic front coming through later this afternoon and will trigger off lake effect snow. Winter Weather Advisory to take effect starting at 4 p.m. for 3-6 inches possibly 5-10 in some areas, reduced visibilities etc. but after that, some nice weather and a bit above normal temps. Those Great Lakes that Judy talked about that are so important to shipping and the economy of the country are also great snow making machines. Course wind direction determines who gets what or any.
So, will scamper off to Walmart this morning as new IPad I ordered is ready for pickup. Then can spend tomorrow transferring things over from this one. Do a couple other errands as well.
I had an interesting day yesterday that I’m sure many of you would not want. Long story short, drove out to a friend of my best friends from downstate as thry hadn’t heard from him most of last week after leaving phone messages on cell and landline. He lives alone, is estranged from family and is kind of a loner with not many friends. I’ve met him a few times when we went out to see him, when my friends came up to visit me. Anyway, things didn’t lookright around there, no snow plowed, no dog tracks etc. After checking with a back of property neighbor, went back, did some looking in windows, dog in house, light on in dining room, found side garage door up, carefully went in and found him dead on dining room floor. Neighbor drove down and aI told her t call 911. So was there for hour and a half with Police, EMS, Medical examiner, Animal Control etc. and the usual police reports etc. they think he was dead at least 4 days. Dog was taken to shelter. Later in evening after talking with best friends and getting a first name of his best bud down the road, I was able to find out last name and get a phone number. Called him and he was out working in a new house so hadn’t checked in his buddy for a few days either. Felt awful. But he is going to take the dog and is going after him this morning. So Happy about that. That is a persay remote area of the county, very rolling and wooded terrain, mix of farms and occasional house. Thoughts are he may have had a heart attack. He was in his 70’s.
Beth, sorry those LONG drives are really wearing you out I’m sure you are enjoying the freedom of not workers big though. Martha, hope last night’s storms passed you by and Sarah too. Still nasty weather and tornadoes heading through GA.
Gotta a get a move on here and get up to town. Have a nice day everyone.
