Good Morning, Tuesday!

Well, I have a few papers to grade and then am off back to my relatives house to go through more papers and toss, toss, toss whatever I can. The stuff with account numbers and such we will need to wait and shred. There might be enough of it to take someplace to shred for us--will see.

Cold last night, but going to be mostly sunny and 62 today, so that is not bad compared to Ohio where I was last week. I took the plastic film off two windows and the one vent pillow off the vent in the bathroom. Looking forward to Savannah in a couple of days and Fort Clinch in Florida next week when it will be really warm!

Mornin' ladies~~~

Currently in Amarillo, TX with high winds today. Gusts this afternoon may be between 60-70 mph. Trailer is really rocking. Packed a go bag 'just in case'. Sitting in the truck with Punk for the time being since he was getting nervous in the camper. Winds should die down but 9pm tonight. Hopefully the TT will still be upright. Then 4" of snow expected tomorrow. Snow ive had before, but not winds this bad.

Sheila, how scary and cold for Shadow falling in the pool in the dark. Glad he's OK.

I see another fire has started in California. And lots of snow expected in areas too. Come on Spring! (Even thi thay brings a whole different set of weather problems).

Have a good day ladies.

I'm heading out shortly for the dermatologist appt. Then tomorrow another follow up with my doctor. Fingers crossed that will be the last of my doctors appts until I'm back here late Feb. If so I'll probably hit the road Monday. Fixing the casita up has made the time fly, but also meant I've spent money I didn't intend to. :o

Scary to hear California has another fire. And, Sheila, I hope you and the family can enjoy without the weather tripping you up too much.

Cheryl, if at all possible, see if you can have the trailer facing into the wind (or vice versa). Side winds are the worst and most dangerous. Even if it means moving sites, it could be worth it.

Yes, unfortunately, another wild fire has erupted in California, in the Santa Barbara area. Around 6,300 people were under evacuation, with 2,400 homes threatened, as of yesterday (Monday).

There was also a "small-ish" fire ("only" 355 acres) that burned near Roseville, also yesterday, not too far from me.

Hopefully, the predicted rains will put an end to the fire season of 2019.

Fire update:

"The Cave fire started just after 4 p.m. Monday near East Camino Cielo and Painted Cave Road in Los Padres National Forest. It has exploded to 4,100 acres with no containment, according to the Santa Barbara County Fire Department. The blaze, fanned by erratic 50 mph sundowner winds, grew quickly overnight and was advancing toward populated areas in the cities of Santa Barbara and Goleta as well as unincorporated areas of the county. . .

The fire prompted Santa Barbara County officials to declare a local emergency and request that Gov. Gavin Newsom proclaim a state of emergency for the region. The fire is “causing conditions of extreme peril to the safety of persons and property within Santa Barbara County,” the county wrote.

Rain is not predicted for the Santa Barbara area until after 10:00 p.m. tonight. It's going to be a long day today for the citizens of Santa Barbara. . .

Santa Barbara is in southern California.

It got really dark this morning and rained for about 5 minutes. We started off with an 80% chance of rain and now it's 20%. The radar shows most of the rain in East Texas and looks like it will go North of me. The temperature is up to 82 and I think I'm going to have to turn the air conditioner on. They just turned the water off a few minutes ago. I have been washing everything I got dirty all morning getting ready for no water. I do have a well. I could put a couple of hoses together and run water to the house. The guy that has the field across the road has been mowing for a couple of hours and now it looks like he set fire to the grass. Not a smart move with the winds we are having.

Cheryl, hope you don't have any problems with the wind and snow. There are pictures on Facebook of trailers and 18 wheelers turned over but I think they were in California.

Beth, where are you headed next?

Martha

Sheila, so glad Shadow is OK! That must have been scary for both of you!

The winds have been bad all over. We had a front blow thru last night with wild winds for a couple hours.

I heard about the fire last night. Sad to hear it is so much worse today. That is such a beautiful area and they have had quite a few really bad fires there over the past few years.

Got up in time for putters golf. Did pretty well but was put in charge of keeping score for my team and pulling the flag for them. I was too busy to really relax and enjoy the game. Later we went out to eat for our luncheon. It was really good but very expensive. Now I am at work. Was busy but just got quiet for a bit.

Hope everyone gets thru the holiday storms without too much trouble.

those of you that have meet Shadow know that for him to not bark to sleep most of the time and to be
around my sil and not be aggressive is unusual behavior... he did bark today when the grandson in law came in and walked away.... as one of my sil's put it he is very subdue. not sure if it is because he feel in the pool and is feeling upset or if it's a totally new are one he has never been in... because his behavior for the most part has been greet ...even today when it's just been us he has spent most of his time sleeping had to wake him up to take him out... normally he is where I am and they don't allow dogs on the furniture... so been concerned that if I sat on the furniture if he would try to join me hasn't we went potty he came in went to his kennel and I went and sat on the couch and crocheted. hopefully he is ok.
been the quite day I needed sat in the hot tub for a bit tried to get into the pool but it was cloudy and breezy and too cold  other than that just visited before they left played forty thieves on the computer... and not much more than that
my granddaughter and her husband got here so happy to see her been way to long they are the ones from one of the Carolina's they are marines...
so tomorrow off to a wet day at Disney and though it will be wet guaranteed at a 100% chance of rain... I am more concerned for the trip home those going to Utah and Idaho will have lots of snow areas to go through... and even me although doubt snow in Vegas they say rain is really bad making the roads slick so actually the end of the trip is more of a worry...
my sister is having sugary now or at least waiting to have it they are behind will hope it happens ...
you all have a great day tomorrow

Sheila, if you are planning to head to Las Vegas on the 15, you will have to go thru the Cajon Pass which is gonna get a lot of snow. Please be careful going thru there.

Hope Shadow is OK. Maybe it is just stress from being in a new place.

Seconding Barbie's warning: Watch the local news channels, especially the late night weather reports. When it storms at Cajon Pass most times they won't let you through unless you have chains. If it's bad enough, they close down the pass completely and everyone is stuck in their vehicles waiting it out. If the weather reports aren't good, is it possible to wait another day or two before heading to Vegas?

Sure wish the weather had cooperated for you guys.

Or you could take the 10 east to Blythe and head north from there. A longer but safer way.
