Good Morning, Interesting posts. Barbie, what fun you are having going through the cupboards and finding treasures! Judy, hope they get your years straightened out. You need that credit! Both my elementary and jr/sr high school have been torn down and new schools built for earthquake retrofit. So I cannot go back to my old schools.

I went to Trader Joe’s the other day. Saw they had pumpkin ice dream! It was delicious! Don’t need to do that very often!
A couple of weeks ago we here in our building lost the fiber optic cable. It didn’t bother us that evening as we don’t watch that much TV. However, the next morning when I couldn’t go online and use my computer I was bummed! I am really addicted to my computer! Luckily all was restored about 11:00 AM.

My daughter wants me to get a ride on scooter so I can go longer distances instead of just around the block. I am resisting!
We are having nice sunny weather.
Lyn

Hi Lyn!

It may not be a bad idea to try the scooter, but only do that if you are comfortable.

Last night while I was laying in bed, I found a hymnal for the MD church I play for and saw the hymn, which is the first hymn I'll be playing in church tomorrow. It's in a different key, unlike the 5 flats the other hymnal is in. Needless to say, I'll be using two hymnals in church tomorrow! I told Steve that and he said he had absolutely no idea what I was talking about. Doesn't matter but makes my life easier. I don't like taxing my brain. Have a good night everyone!

I am "camped" at the service plaza on the Ohio Turnpike, heading back to my son's house. Unfortunately, the water has been shut off, which is not good because I have been managing on very little for the last three days since the campground in Monroe, MI also had shut off the water except to the long-term campers. Anyway, I am not doing dishes and using a jug for flushing, so I hope that I can manage a very short shower tonight. It was 25 last night and going down to 30 tonight, but I got a propane refill a couple of days ago, so at least I will be warm. The front part of my RV is more drafty than the rear, and I have a down comforter and a throw on my bed, so once I get settled in back there, I will be warm.

I met an old friend today for lunch and then we went to her new house afterwards for a couple of hours of chatting. She is a person that when I was going through my divorce way back in 1984, gave me my teaching materials ifor one of the other of my four part-time jobs and shoved me into the classroom. She and two other friends who worked at this place (not the one I am teaching at now) have stayed good friends for the past 35 years. The other two were not able to make it, but it has been fun for the past couple of days to talk with other teachers.

I also stocked up on Detroit-type food: fresh polish sausage, Vernor's Ginger Ale, Faygo Red Pop, and Awrey Bakeries Long John Coffee Cake. So, my freezer and storage is overflowing with good stuff for the coming weeks.

Glad you made it back safe and sound Judy
went to the Luau tonight was fun and totally a lot of food!!! salads galore and then meat and rice... totally yummy.
tried to change the oil not sure if I am weak or the nut is on really tight or it's the angle so didn't get it done talked to a friend and they will come out soon and help... I ought to call my son in law and make sure I was trying to undo the right nut and see if the whole front needs to come off... hope not
so other than laying in bed way longer than I should have it was so nice to just lay there and feel a cool breeze and check out FB but it didn't get down what I should have done... got to thinking that perhaps if I put the ice in the crisper's that perhaps I won't have quite the mess when taking the water out of the fridge we will see...
so that is my very atypical day
Lyn good to see you on and the riding thing might be a good idea... give it a thought

Sheila, putting the ice in the crisper drawers sounds like a good idea!

Lyn, good to hear from you. Hope you are feeling OK. Are you still swimming every day?

I worked all day today. I got a $20 tip from one of my customers. That was nice!

I stopped at PetSmart for kitty litter. They only carry the 28 lb boxes which is way too heavy for me to lift and carry, so I went to Walmart instead. They have the 14 lb boxes for $15, and the 28 lb boxes for $17. Obviously the larger box is the best deal, but I just can't deal with that much weight, so I got the smaller box. I will have to see if I can get a decent deal from Chewy.com and have it shipped to me. If I can get the litter into an open bin so I can scoop it instead of having to lift and tip the box to fill the litter box, that would make it easier.

Tomorrow will be church and then back to do more cleaning and going thru stuff for the yard sale.

There are some parties going on around here tonight. Can hear music coming from one of my neighbors. Saw lots of people gathered on porches when I came home from work.

Have a good night! :D

Judy, it's been interesting to read about your work history. I started working at 13 or so... For family so legal, then whatever the earliest age I could get a work permit, did so, to work full-time summers. From then forward I always had at least one job all the way through college. Most of college, while attending full time, I worked... Sometimes two jobs which gave me more than full time hours. I don't know when I slept LOL

This afternoon I saw a notice that a lady moving soon had a fridge for sale. It's older, but working just fine. At $35 I couldn't turn it down. So I paid and my neighbors will help me move it down, hopefully tomorrow. I have a feeling I'll end up staying here more than I planned... Although not this year. And maybe not next. But I'll enjoy the time here. Moving to this site was the right move for me. Now I'm broke, but hey, I'm having fun getting deals.

I finally picked up new meds for my asthma/headaches/sinus problems. Boy do I have dry mouth. I'm drinking a ton of water. I hope it doesn't mean I'll get up more times than normal.

Barbie, I mistakenly ordered the bigger size of dry dog food before leaving SD. Luckily one of the motels workampers brought it to my site, but I don't intend to do that again. Am getting weaker not stronger with age...

Lyn, you might discover you'd love the scooter. And there are some cool options... Liz and her hubby got one of them and I think it's pretty cool.

I personally think they would be fun as well.. I would like to see my sister get one it actually would make her more independent. she could go to church on her own even to the close by grocery store... and not have to bother her son to take her in her car  but she is still in rehab
I used to get the 40 lb. bag of bird seed because it is cheaper it's about 18 if I remember correctly and a 10 lb is about 10 but now I get the 2 10 lb. bags just can't handle the 40 lb one so totally get it

Lyn, I just bought a scooter before my daughter and I went on our trip to New Mexico. SO HAPPY I did cause I could go further and more places with it. El Morro had a paved walkway for about a mile that I could NOT have done without my scooter. I use it at home to go down to my daughter's house from my house when its too hot to walk or I'm just not feeling up to the walk. It comes apart so we could lift it into the back of her truck on our trip. I hated giving in but now am really glad I bought it.
