Rabbit Day

Good morning all. I remembered rabbits this morning! I’ve been up since early waiting for the “guy” to come look at my furnace. I didn’t think anything about it not going on when I bumped up the temp. Finally realized it hadn’t kicked on sometime early afternoon so started checking the things I knew to check. Still no luck so called “guy” and he finally called last night and said he’d come by this morning. Hope it isn’t anything to bad or costly! Luckily I do have other gas appliances to help keep at least the kitchen and basement warm. Doesn’t help the rest of the house and with the colder temps forecasted it’ll cool down fast. It sure hasn’t been my week with things breaking down!
The wind blew all night but is supposed to slow down this afternoon. All the leaves in the driveway are now up on the porch in front of the door! At least they aren’t all over my car now! As soon as I hear from the furnace guy I’ll be out there clearing them up. Despite the wind there’s still leaves on the trees around me! So that’s about it for me right now. I keep reminding myself that at least I was able to get out of bed this morning so the rest I’ll deal with! Have a good day wherever and whatever you do today.

Happy November! I hope the furnace is an easy and inexpensive fix, Sharon. And reading all about those of you cleaning leaves and gutters, etc reminds me why I'll never have a house again. I'll leave that to all of you.

I didn't think of rabbits until seeing it on FB this morning. I immediately said it but am thinking I talked to Ty first. Oh well. It's a cold desert morning but will still warm to the mid/upper 70's today. I'm trying out a new doctor today. I've never really liked the one I've been using in South Dakota, so decided to try switching to one here in Arizona. We shall see.

Good Morning, I forgot Rabbits but then I usually do. Sharon I hope your furnace is an easy, inexpensive fix! Good luck Beth with the new doctor! I think good doctors are few and far between!! I always look to see where they went to school and particularly where they did their internship. This being a small area, if they do get a good doctor they don't stay long unless like my current on who said he was staying because he couldn't sell his house. He isn't a very good doctor but at least he hasn't screamed at me yet!
It turned really cold here so I called the place where I store my RV and they put her away for the winter. So fortunate to have heated storage very close. We had wind chills in the 20's yesterday but the sun came out near trick or treat time.

Good morning Everyone from sunny and warm (relatively speaking) Connecticut. I’m getting food prepared for a party tomorrow evening. Usually about a third of people one invites cannot come, but guess what, all but two are coming!!! There will be 22 of us. I haven’t done a party in a long time, and just washing all the stored plates and glasses is work. As much as I love being on the road in my Trek, I like being home as well. Enjoy today. Peggy

So, im still alive and kicking and i do try and read to keep up. Its hard to read the small print on my phone and my tablet wont let me get on the forum so i gave up and took it off my tablet.
Yall have a great day, be safe.

Sitting at the vet’s office. Lark gets to have some X rays of her stomach. She chewed one of her and Josef’s favorite squeaky balls or at least half of it into small pieces. Many of the pieces were vomited up like a good doggy but since another errant piece got vomited up this morning I thought I needed to check to see if there were any more
stuck somewhere that will cause a problem and not get either thrown up or eliminated naturally. Happy rabbits day! Josef has up coming dog shows in Michigan and Ohio... maybe Oklahoma....depending upon the entries. Need to empty the RV tanks so It can survive the freezing temps. Already have bought my seasonal supply of Pink stuff. May take the rig to my daughter’s for Thanksgiving....

Okay Peggy. Give it up. How was your trip to the islands and the south seas?

Good very cool morning to all. Down into the mid 30's again here in Vegas. Furnace is running full blast. I didn't even remember it was a new month until I looked at this post. Time flies. We are hoping for a Monday departure date so right now we are in the "what can we finish doing stage." Have bags of stuff all over the house, too early to mop floors, no more errands to run...Tomorrow Bill will bring the RV over so then we will be busy. Had a hiccup with him yesterday, woke up with blood in his urine. Off to urgent care, an infection...so now he is on oral antibiotics and they seem to be working already. Can't wait to get to Mazatlan and just relax and visit with friends.

Just a quick update on my furnace situation. Had to order a part and it won’t be here until Monday. It was either pay more for rush delivery or have to wait until Wednesday. So Monday it is! So have a feeling it’s going to be a cold next few days. Glad I have a couple of supplemental heat sources! Hoping the wind dies down this afternoon since it doesn’t help the heat loss all around the house. So not a quick fix nor an inexpensive one but it has to be done! Glad I have lots of blankets for my bed! But then again I like a cooler bedroom! And I can just camp out in the kitchen all week end! One adventure I could do without! Thanks for the well wishes though!

Good Afternoon All, Just checking in. I said Rabbits last night after midnight while sitting in the windowless bathroom. Was waiting for the tornado warning to lift. The storm past me then I waited for an all clear from my children. Scary unpredictable weather. Be safe

I remembered "rabbits" this morning. Pretty sure I didn't say anything before that.

Slept in late. Was very tired yesterday so am hoping I am caught up with my sleep now.

It got down in the low 30's here last night but is warming up nicely now. Turned on the furnace overnight so it stayed comfortable in here.

Ava, I didn't know you bought a Jeep. What kind and what year??

Tina, I hope all is well with Lark! Dogs eat the darndest things!

Ann, hope you two can get on the road soon! Stay safe and healthy!

I am off to the dentist soon to finish what they started last Friday. Then start cleaning around here. Also need to go to the Golf Shop at the club house and get signed up for the Putting Golf league. I am going to wait on the regular golf league until I know my back and shoulders can handle it. Need to go to the practice range and hit a few balls and see how that goes.

Enjoy your day! :D

Hope my saying rabbits this morning works. It's sunny and 67 here so far. I'm ready to head to Curves. Had between 35 and 40 little ones last night, only maybe 3 of which were over the age of 10. Wonder what the bigger children were up to. Predicting a bigger crowd next year as Halloween is on Saturday due to leap year. Our chili was good and will be enjoyed next few nights as leftovers, which is how we prefer as taste intensifies. Not much new going on. I'm researching the ERAS-Enhanced Recovery After Surgery system, which is being advocated by anesthesiologists. Studies have shown if, instead of nothing by mouth after midnight, you have even abdominal surgery patients drink an electrolyte drink such as PowerAde up yo 2 hours before surgery, recovery is more rapid and less vomiting occurs. My silly Dr wants me NPO after midnight before cataract surgery, even though my only anesthesia will be numbing drops! No sedation. I'm putting together a letter with references to try to change his mind. Some hospitals now mandate it. The ERAS contains a long list of new guidelines but thus is the one most affecting me.
Have a great day everyone.
Velda

Even dogs are allowed water the morning of their surgeries....... No food after midnight but leave their water out.

I wonder if some of that NPO stuff is "just in case" the situation requires something more invasive. It is good that you can come back with more recent guidelines and best practices.

I had a text from Lyn this morning that she couldn't get on the forum. I had my phone off (at the doctors) so didn't discover it until a bit ago. I've responded so hopefully she'll get back to me and we'll have her back on.

Just got back from the dentist! I was there for 3 hours! I am not going back there. The dentist finally came to talk to me and examine my teeth after over an hour of waiting. He never introduced himself to me. He said I need 2 crowns but no fillings and gave me a price on that which was actually not too bad. Then I waited another hour and a half before I got my teeth cleaned. The gal never said one word to me. That took all of 5 minutes! I have never had a teeth cleaning last less than a half hour anywhere else. She never even flossed my teeth. Not sure what is wrong with their chairs but my back kept hurting so I had to keep getting up and walking around. What a disappointing experience! I will be looking for somewhere else to go. If I have to get crowns, I want someone who is competent and will take the time to do a good job.

Also, Barbie, you usually have the dentist examine your teeth after they have been cleaned. If there is tartar, he cannot see what he needs to see, so I agree you need to dump those guys. Just had my teeth cleaned, and it took at least a half hour!

And MandysMom, I was told I could have a light breakfast up until four hours before my cataract surgery! I had light sedation but don't remember anything that happened, so it is not like I was wide awake with no anesthesia.

I spent two hours waiting at the third Social Security office I have been to in the past three months and what I brought was STILL not adequate. I was told to bring letters from the doctor certifying my aunt and uncle were incapable of making decisions based on their dementia, but the copies I had were faxed. They now want originals with ink signatures on doctor's stationery!! Its like they keep adding requirements. And SS office #2 was in Washington State where I was told I had all the documents but had to apply in my home state near where I lived. And the lady I saw today told me I would have to bring them back and wait in line again because they do not take appointments.

Went out to car, called doctor, whose office said all their letters are generated electronic and the signatures inserted before they are printed. So I went back in to ask what to do, but guy at desk said I would have to wait another hour or so or I could call the office. So, back to car and did that. New guy on phone, at that same office I had just left, said I should make an appointment or file in Florida since i was headed there!! It has been decades since I read Catch 22, but I am reminded of that book!

I think people make this stuff up as they go along to irritate customers! :x
