Snowy Halloween Thursday

Morning everyone. Fine rain/snow coming down out there. Roofs and grass except for under trees and in the woods, are white. First snowfall of the season. Right on time as we usually see snow around end of October. Forecast says mostly rain today changing back to snow later this afternoon through tonight. Could be 3-6 inches possibly. Will be a messy trick or treat night out there. But with one church having a big bash for the kids and Main Street merchants passing out candy, they have hav fun and be safe. The church also going to have one of the American Ninja Warriors there in person, so that will draw a lot of kids. They usually have around 700 every year.

Between reading posts on here and talking with people while camping, there seems to be a trend toward downsizing RV’s. I’m noticing more and more smaller rigs these days. And yes, a teardrop wouldn’t be for me either, but I see quite a few of them or others similar to them out there. Mostly younger generation of U.P. and coming single campers lo9king to keep things single. Seems like more tent campers too. I eye those hard side A frame trailers and think maybe I would like one, but probably too crowded with two big dogs. There are days when I get tired of hauling my trailer around, but I like the freedom of having my truck to sightsee. Maybe down the road.

Right now I guess I should get going, get cleaned up and ready for the day. Should clean house a bit, take the pups for a walk and do some organizing of some things in my one cupboard, about 5 minute job  and then maybe start on my summer camping adventures scrapbook. That will keep me busy for a few weeks. Happy Halloween all.

Good morning, Sue and all. We had a rainy night and kinda in a lull right now. It actually just started to rain again but the worst of it supposed to be later in the day. Many of the communities changed trick or treating to the weekend due to the wind and thunderstorm warnings. I’ve never had any kids come here so not real concerned about it. But bet there’s a lot of disappointed kids. All the raking I did the other day got undone last night. I watched the leaves coming down yesterday afternoon and more during the night! It’s a real mess out there. Sue, they are saying we may have flurries tomorrow morning. Temps today in the high 60’s so we’ll really feel in change tomorrow! Time to think about hibernation! Got word last night that my sister’s sister in law and family are okay to head back to their homes. She left last evening to head back. They still have to be alert for evacuation orders but for now they are safe to return to their community. So that’s about it for me today. No plans to even leave the house today so maybe I’ll get something accomplished inside! Need to throw something in the slow cooker and at least the house will smell good! That kind of day! Have a good one and stay safe if you are on the road!

I had full tanks and absolutely had to dump both today, except it was raining really hard. I was in the process of fixing a late breakfast and it slowed down to a drizzle, so I closed up and unhooked my electric and headed out. I still got wet, but it was a lot better than the downpour. And now it is raining hard again,m but I am back in my spot and plugged in. Whew!

I can go four days if I am careful, which is a big advantage to living alone. And that includes one shower and doing dishes each day, plus the usual flushing and hand washing.

Got a rental car, so heading out to get some help with my new iPhone 8 and to get a new drivers license. Not only do i want to get the vision limitations removed, but the new one will have the symbol that the security people in airports will accept. That goes into effect in a few months, so check your drivers license!

Good Morning Sue, Sharon and all who follow. We had a cold desert night but looks like it'll be a gorgeous, nice day and week to follow. I'm sitting here waiting for delivery of my big propane tank for the casita. After it arrives I'll finish cleaning in the casita, hopefully today, and when the water's hot, try out that shower. I hung curtains to hide stuff in a doorless closet today. Then I looked on Amazon for curtains for my windows. I'm going very cheap... But still want done style. Then I'm not planning any other fixes, etc for now. But we all know how that goes lol

Ty's been acting up when left alone so I have my friend Ginger coming over to Ty sit tomorrow while I go to the doctor. I'm going to have to figure this out!

Just saw your post Judy. I'm sure you have bigger tanks than me, and I easily go a week... Have gone up go 3.

Hi everyone!

We have also seen the tear drops but only up close & personal at the RV shows. The pop out kitchen on the back is sweet but since we part time, that would never work for us. But what we do isn't for everyone, either.

We just got back from Marathon FL, to spend some quality time with my sister & bil. They have a beautiful home on the water that they rent out but save it for themselves several times a year. We went to Key West and ate way too much. We are back home in Ocala and enjoying the weather. It was 91 when we arrived but have a cold front arriving and will only be 70 tomorrow. Time to dress in layers.

All I can say is ------- Brrrrrrrrrr!!!!!!!

The temps have dropped tremendously, from a high today of 63 to a low tonight of 33 and snow!! I have just enough propane to get me through the night, but then I will have to go for a fill. I also have to change sites tomorrow because they are closing this part of the state park. As far as water usage, I take a comfortable hot shower with washing my hair each day, plus do dishes at least once or twice per day.

Winds are 25 MPH and high tomorrow is 42 with low of 28. I wish I could head for Florida, but got too many meetings and medical tests coming up. Keep your fingers crossed for me so that my tests turn out negative and I can head south in two weeks.

Kids had a cold night trick or treating. Son took dog along, dressed in a costume, of course. She looked VERY unhappy. Maybe she just does not like being Super Dog and needs a new costume next year! She does enjoy being outside, though, so had a good time. Kids live in a wealthy neighborhood and came back with more than full pumpkins full of candy. Had a big pile of "rejects" for the parents and me. Will post dog photo tomorrow. Camera is in car and I am not going out for anything!!

Judy's story about her son's dog being dressed up reminded me of Trudy and her Molly... for those who don't know Trudy she dressed her dog often for whatever reason miss her posts haven't seen much of her on FB either... when I come on I check the last post I made say on Coffee and read from there went tonight to read from where I posted and nothing I am not there!!! I think I must have hit submit as the same time as Barbie as she wasn't there when I had finished reading what was there... there were people next to me that have a teardrop...and two cars 1 dog and 1 cat... assume 2 people there was the two cars... way to many for what looks like a small space... I would find it claustrophobic...Picked up my truck today... custom made step for the drivers side ...sorry but the passenger is still going to have to climb in ... new tires leaks fixed ... good to go...
wish I could say the same with the trailer... another thing to put on the "list" saw water dripping as much as it can in subzero weather from the under carriage no water going in so have no idea where it came from... the wells in the bay have frozen water in it . guess it will be something to look at when I get to Q and can get to the insides of the 5th wheel...
will be leaving on Monday.. so far the trip is looking good weather wise ...was so shocked that diesel took such a jump up when I got it it was 2.99 it's now 3.19 not happy... hopefully as I go further south it will be better.
we can always hope right???

Had a hard time getting up early this morning for work. Was just really tired. Was fairly busy today.

Stopped at WM after work and then came home to relax.

Tomorrow will head back to the dentist for teeth cleaning and talk with the dentist about my issues.

Was really chilly in the house this morning. Left all the windows closed all night but it got down to close to 40 degrees overnight. Tonight is supposed to get down to about 32 degrees so will have to turn the heat on, It will be warming up tho back to the 80's for highs and 50's for lows.

Still 6 active fires burning in LA today, including a couple new ones from overnight. Winds are dying down now so that will help but still single digit humidity levels, so extremely dry.

Geez!! Another large fire up near Oxnard! 4000 acres in just a couple hours!
