On to Thursday

Good Morning out there.

I drove down to the Kentucky Horse Park yesterday to wander the walks, barns and museums with Cheryl. She took the pictures and I enjoyed the sunny day and visiting. It has been years since I visited the Horse Park to see the horses. Lark rode with me and got to walk with Punk'in after we returned to the campsite.

Today I get the rig reset for solo dog show travel. I had removed the dog crates so that three friends could use it last weekend at the show that was only 20 minutes up the road from me. Their dogs slept either in their vans or on the beds with them. Tomorrow Josef and I will head up to Delaware, Ohio, north of Columbus.

I am loving the fall weather here in Ohio and know that I would be traveling farther down the road if it wasn't for dog shows.

Hope someone has heard from Lyn and see if she found out anything useful from the doctors. This aging stuff can be disheartening.

Be safe but have some good adventures out there!

Mornin' Tina & all who follow~~~

Was so fun seeing you and Lark again. I may steal her one day. She's so sweet.

Laundry this A.M. since I never did it the other day. Then maybe back to the park for the demos or what not. Or maybe the tour at Old Friends Stable to see more of the retired derby horses.

Nice and sunny with 70° temps expected today then another cold front and rain moving in on the weekend. One thing I've learned to dislike is hitching in the rain, but all pary of life.

Sure do wish Lyn would check in. Have a good day ladies. And good luck at the show Tina.

Good morning gals!

Tina, you barely just got off the plane and you are already hitting the road! You have a lot of energy! After a trip like that, I would need at least a week to chill out before doing anything.

My golf cart is on it's way to the golf cart hospital this morning. The guy discovered that the receptacle where you plug in the golf cart to recharge, is melted, so needs to be replaced. Still will cost $200 but a lot better than $600+.

It already feels hot out so I guess one more day of heat. The Santa Anna's haven't reached here yet, very calm outside right now.

Part of me wants to take a nap and part of me says I need to get busy cleaning. Which part will win out??? :? ...

Last night, 4 of us, from my church, were honored by our Cub pack and the Quilts of Valor Foundation with presentation of hand made quilts to honor our service in the US military. There were two of us from the Navy, one Coast Guard, one Air Force, and one who could not get there who is Army. It was very nice of the foundation to come and pay honor to us. In one photo you can see me in front of my dress uniform jacket and Mel’s. I felt his presence last night. The quilts were hand made by members of the foundation and are all red white and blue Image

Velda, that's truly an honor.

Windy as all get out today. I'm glad I'm not on the road til tomorrow when the wind is supposed to be gone. We still got a good walk in this morning and since no one else was done by the river, Ty got a great run in. There's new hosts this year here. The two couples last year were both here forever... Funny they both "retired" at the same time.

Cheryl, I haven't seen "our" ranger. So I asked about him today and, of course, it's his day off. I doubt he'd remember me, but he did remember Ty last spring when we stopped heading north.

Velda, congratulations! Very beautiful quilt!

Wind is picking up now.

My clippers and trimmers for work are being retired from the shop since they aren't working as good as they used to (I have duct tape holding my trimmers together! Not very professional  ), so I just ordered new ones on Amazon. Also ordered some shears to do work from home. My neighbor wants a haircut this weekend. Will keep my old clippers and trimmers to use at home as well. I don't want to have to lug my equipment home every time someone wants a haircut. Too easy to forget to bring them back to work.

Several fires have broken out in Los Angeles in the past couple hours. Some houses on fire. :(

Also, I broke off a tooth earlier around a filling. Guess I need to finally get to a dentist.

today is my 49th anniversary so took some flowers and went to the cemetery sure didn't plan on spending my anniversaries a lone had I been in SLC I am sure that DD #4 would have made sure that I went out to eat as I sit here remember that all I've eaten today was a peanut butter and banana sandwich... it happens now I am hungry and it's 11 o'clock in the pm perhaps some crackers and cheese... because the fridge is not holding a good temp there isn't much in it.. except ice and condiments
have most of what can be done a head of tomorrow done... although when I turn off the computer will do a bit more. there are odds and ends anyway...
my grandson and his family came over and visited a bit they need a baby sitter tomorrow if the weather was going to be good on Saturday I would stay over but I don't want to leave in the rain will hope that tomorrow is still a good day to leave... last I looked this morning it was going to be sunny and no wind ... hope that is still right.
I take planters back and forth in the spring can bring back live ones but in the fall they are mostly dead... this time the soil is wet and frozen so heavier than normal...
you all have a good day

Sheila, sorry you had to spend the afternoon alone. I am sure your hubby was with you tho.

I have an appointment for tomorrow morning to see a dentist for cleaning and to check out my teeth. Luckily, I don't have any pain or discomfort where the tooth broke off. I have another broken tooth below it that I have had for about 10 years. Yes, it has been awhile since I have been to a dentist. I really hate going. I think this is gonna run into some $$$.

Yes Barbie, dentistry these days is costly. I'm so grateful we have really good insurance, but even with I durance a crown can run $600 copay. Hope yours is ok for you.
I was very honored to be included in the quilt ceremony. I'm sure Mel was happy.
Sheila, sorry you had to celebrate alone. It's a big deal to be married as long as you have. Even though you celebrate in different places now, it's still a special occasion.
We are watching reports on the fire west of us. Reports from where it started are , broken equipment was found and both PG&E and Sherrif are doing a joint investigation, so we really don't know the implication of broken equipment yet.
Barbie, what clippers do you have? I have left parts from when we did sharpening and could look to see. May have a housing for an Oster I think.
Thanks everyone for your kind words on my quilt.
Have a safe fun Friday everyone. I will head to football, last varsity game in evening.
Velda

I have pretty good insurance altho I think they only pay 50% of crowns. Am pretty sure that I will need a crown on this tooth.

I use only Wahl products. The ones I have now are good enough to work with at home for now. Trimmers work great but have to tape the blade on because it keeps popping off. I think if the State came thru, they would not be happy to see trimmers with tape on them and hair stuck to it.
