Morning gals. The pups and I have returned from the U.P. Had a great time, mixed bag of weather and got in lots of exploring. And as. Beryl (IrishIRoamed) mentioned, we spent some time together too. Friend from the U.P. Came by twice too.

So back to normal stuff here. Need to do some grocery shopping today as fridge is empty. Trailer is unloaded and everything put away. Hoping for one more outing. Shall see what weather brings later this month. Looks like nice week coming up, with highs in 70’s or low 80’s. Fall color is beginning to show a bit here and there. Good couple weeks or more away yet.

Hope you all have a nice day, o matter where you are or are doing.

Morning. No more dog shows for me until after I get back from Scotland. I thought it would be nice to take a break, hold on to my money and focus on a few other things for the next two weeks. Josef however went ahead and entered one for the beginning of October and made arraignments for his other mother and a friend to take him. He will be staying with Cindy while I am gone, anyway. After Saturday it didn't take much on his part to convince her to take him. For those not on FaceBook he declined his eligibility for Owner Handler because he wanted to support his "cousin" Vandy's attempt to earn enough points to join him in the Top Ten ranking this year.

(The tabulations for Orlando end the 9th of October. Vandy was awarded Best of Opposite Sex to Josef's Best of Breed last year. This year Cindy and I have decided not to go but she would still like to say that the two of them were both in the top ten!)

So Cindy and Vandy did pick up Owner Handler Best of Breed points each day but on Saturday Josef picked up a Best of Breed and a Group placement in the regular Sporting Group. We call that running with the big dogs. That is the ring that is also full of professional handlers and more that a few beautiful dogs that have won Best in Shows, multiple group placements and the breed specialties. I always feel honored to show up and represent English Cockers and not be laughed out of the ring. The reality is Josef is a nice dog but not going to be a challenger to the top English Cockers running out there, but that is when the mantra, "On any given day." comes in. I told Cindy I think that dog shows are like gambling. You never know for sure what the out come is going to be ahead of time, but you keep showing up because it might be something fine!

What's that I hear on my skylight?! Measurable rain (as in barely) since midnight, the first of the season which began July 1.
I'm heading to Curves, then out to dinner with friends tonight. Woke very early with my arthritic neck worse than usual. Put some green oil (cannabis coconut) oil on it and took a little CBD, and slept till 9:30! Was still dim light in windows, so thought it was earlier, until I looked at my watch, then realized it is very cloudy with chance of thunderstorms. A friend and I were messaging this morning and she said the barometric pressure change has flared her joint pain, so maybe that's what got me. Have a good day everyone.

I love your picture Tina. If we could only get our kids to look at us like that. lol

I haven't done much except bring the 2 kittens to the vet. One was running a little fever and they have fleas. The vet couldn't find anything else wrong with them so said they might have a virus. I think the doctoring I do does about as much good and is way cheaper. Their sister is doing fine. Right now they are happy to sleep on the bed in the kennel. When they feel good enough to want out of the cage I'll let them go back outside.

When I was ready to go to town it decided to storm but I don't think we got much rain. It has been over cast all day so not as hot as usual.

I have discovered that my joints start hurting more when it is humid out. I was told that the dry heat out here would be good for my arthritis and it seems to be true.

Slept in a little this morning and then went next door for breakfast. Finished packing up and headed out. Stopped for gas in Q, which was a good thing because there was a major accident between Q and Blythe so the freeway was at a standstill for quite awhile. Got home around 4pm and have just been relaxing since then. Driving makes me tired, especially with constantly changing lanes to pass the slower semis. My eyes get very fatigued as well.

Lola is happy to be home, too!

I spent a couple of days at Prineville Reservoir, and it rained last evening and last night. I headed north to Yakima and it is scheduled to rain tonight, so it is nice that Oregon and Washington are getting some decent rain. Lots of wet pavement between Prineville and Yakima with more rain expected this week. That should help end the fire season, which has not been too bad this summer anyway.

I need to do better at eating. I have been losing weight, mostly because of my irritable bowel situation being worse lately and partly because I just don't have much of an appetite. Partly, I think it is also stress from being so busy at the end of the semester that I tend to delay eating breakfast and even lunch. It's not a horrible amount--just 5 pounds in the past month, but I lost 5 pounds last month also. Losing weight is a good thing, but I want to lose it slowly so it will be more permanent. So, I have been trying to think of what I really want to eat that is relatively healthy, and today I stopped at a grocery store and got several kinds of fruit, so after my half sub sandwich tonight I am having some fruit cocktail. Will also have some for breakfast with my English muffin.

I bet that Q looks way different at this time of the year...
spent t he day at my mom's went to the store crocheted my 3 rows and made supper checked one of the plants
and it appeared to be moist so decided that I would wait till Thurs or possibly let they really dry out till next Monday we will see...
Will be going over to mom's on Thurs as well will decide then if they need water... or need to wait... some times I think I might over do with the water
its getting cool enough that I might want to turn the buddy on... or put the electric throw on me
Need to get up tomorrow and do something so it looks like I have accomplished something not sure what but need to do it

Q is pretty quiet right now! I think I saw two cars going thru town. Most of the stores and restaurants are closed. The bookstore is open and the gas stations and fast food places too. There were a couple rock shops by the post office that were open. I was surprised how many RV's were at the parks in town, altho probably not all occupied this time of year.

Cooling off here again this week! Highs in the 90's and lows in the upper 60's!! Gotta open the windows at night! Need to get the bedroom screen made and installed, and the living room windows unstuck as soon as possible! I will be able to sit out in the porch in the evenings with Lola too now! Yay!

A lot of people leave their RV's in Q although it is a town even without the winter visitors ...
but I can only imagine that it is really quite
