Morning all. Yep Karen, you said it right yesterday, another week going going gone. The older we get, the faster they go. But yet for some people, especially those who are ill, infirm, lonely, can’t go anywhere etc., the days probably drag on.

For those along the east coast, Dorian is dragging on and I’m sure everyone will be glad to see it gone. Seems like it’s been going on forever, the main focus of the weather for over a week now. We are in a bit of a cool down here this weekend with highs in the upper 50’s to low 60’s and some misty rain on and off yesterday. Glad I got my outside chores done before the damp weather arrived. Karen, I hear ya on getting stuff done in the cool times. I get a head start on my spring projects this time of year cause the weather is cooler. Today though will be loading my trailer in prep to head to the U.P. Looking pretty nice weather wise for my trip, highs in 60’s with sun and possibly a few showers over the course of the week. Will be out bumming around as this may be last trip up there this year.

Lyn, sounds like fun times at the wedding. Beth, hard to believe it’s going to be time to head out before long. Bet you can’t wait.

Reading about TV programming in yesterday’s coffee, I have to agree, nothing really worth watching. I have TV on in evening, off during the day. I watch Weather Channel as I learn a lot and have always had an interest in weather. Also watch ISPN in evening as they run old westerns, Walker, Texas Ranger and that kind of stuff from back when. In winter, Hallmark over the holidays, sometimes HGTV. But I spend a lot of time in my evenings playing Majong on my IPad. Good brain game. Will probably get I to jigsaw puzzles and my yearly camping trips scrapbooking later on.

Right now guess it’s time to get this day rolling along. Have a nice day everyone and those in Dorian’s path, hunker down and stay safe.

Sue, if you like to watch TV - and I do - give very serious thought to getting yourself a Roku (from about $29.00, that's it, no monthly fee).

Get it at Walmart, try it, don't like it? Easy return policy at Walmart. Just posted my latest "Roku Rant"  here:

Good morning!

We're finally going to start cooling down out here. This week will be in the low 80's - can't wait until we're back in the 70's.

Since I'm still working, I appreciated the short week. :) I've been working on a really, really tough project - dreams of retirement keep popping in my head. We'll see how things go once I start taking care of Olivia's baby brother - due in Nov. I'll start taking care of him in Feb.

I'm on my 3rd or 4th week without cable TV. Roku & Antennas are working well so far. I find I don't have it on unless I've found something I want to watch.

Lyn, those family gatherings are so much fun! Our famiy is like yours- we stay in touch & get together whenever we have a chance. Just wish my kids weren't so far apart from each other, but they make it work & are carving out their own place in the world. Our here, my DIL has a large extended family & they also have a group of friends who have become like family to them. I'm invited to many of her family gatherings, but I'm not into late night activites much anymore. ;)

Nothing much planned for today - going to make a Costco run to pick up my contacts & to see what new things they have in the store. I consider my Costco membership my entertainment for the year.

Take care out here,
Catherine

Good Morning, wedding yesterday was beautiful. Bride was georgous, groom handsome. Setting was in a former farm, now called “The Tin Roof Barn.” Catering company did a fantastic job. I can’t rave enough about the wonderful time I had. Today I Am exhausted. I don’t do late nights very well. Lyn

Got to boost this up so it is on top. Am in SF eating lunch with family. We visited kittie cafe where you pet cats. Did not take any home luckily.

Really sore muscles from two days earlier this week walking around Alcatraz and Fisherman’s Wharf. We also went to Muir Woods. Going to take me a week to recover!!

Glad you had a good time at the wedding, Lyn

Judy, I didn't think I'd enjoy Alcatraz that much. It was a wonderful experience. Hope you found it so, also.

Beautiful day here, breezy and low 70's.

I got out the clippers and stuff to stop bleeding in preparation of trimming Ty's nails. He won't come near me. Eventually he'll give up. He likes attention more than he dislikes the clipping.

for a Saturday it was pretty quite.. woke up and discovered a text from granddaughter asking if I wanted to go to Rexburg with them... well yes but that was 2 hours ago and they were gone... so did what I felt I should do went to town for stuff for dinner tomorrow..think it will be taco's that type of stuff...then went up and made creamy chicken veggie chowder type of soup...tasted really good... it's cooler tonight already closed up trailer it's windy out when that happens it always feels colder... but at least it didn't rain although we could use it even after the rain we got yesterday,...
but my second coat on the box and the first for inside I might put one more coat on and a second on the inside and call it good...

Another lazy day... I did get to Curves today. Tomorrow is church and then try to get some things done on my list before heading back to work on Monday.

The temps here are supposed to go down quite a bit this week with highs actually staying just under 100*, and lows in the low 70's! I can finally open my windows at night and get this place aired out! It is very windy tonight but still hot.

I have been busy on-line today. For many years, I have been wanting to start doing gourd art. My interest in that has returned so I have been researching what I need in order to get started with it, and getting tons of ideas on what I can do with it. It is so cool and so many different ways to transform gourds into beautiful pieces of artwork. I took a class at a gourd farm when I lived in Lake Elsinore about 10 years ago and really enjoyed it. I think I will have to just slowly get the equipment and supplies I need as I have extra money to do so, before I can get started. So I pretty much spent the day looking at gourd art on-line and watching YouTube videos and pinning stuff to Pinterest for future ideas. I am also on a gourd art FB page which has been very helpful and inspiring. I wish I could get started right away, but ...money...

This was what I made at the gourd farm class... unfortunately, I haven't come across it since I moved from MN so I think it might have been accidentally taken to the Goodwill at some point.

Barbara, this year I stopped at a booth in the farm area of he state fair where ladies were doing gourd art! They had some fantastic items and displays on history of the art. It looked fun.
