Good morning, all!
Attended my CPR class for work yesterday, as the instructor called the roll he said my name and I hear another woman at the other side of the room say “Mickie???”, I saw her and said “Mitzi???” We both jumped up and hugged so tight... my long lost friend who’d moved away 35 years ago! She’s come home to care for her mother. We both teared up, the others in the class were beaming at us, it was a joyous reconnection.

Mornin' Mickie ~ what a wonderful story!
Not much here. Leaving Wisconsin Dells today to head towards Door County. Never been there. Supposed to be beautiful when the fall colors arrive, but I'll be there a bit too early. We'll see.
Have a good day ladies. Stay safe and warm or cool as needed.

Mickey, that is a great story! That will be fun to reconnect and get caught up with each other!
Cheryl, I have heard that Door County is beautiful any time of year. Enjoy!
Hopefully, I will get to church today! I decided not to go to Joshua Tree today because of the heat and humidity. Just too hot! I will get there when it is cooler and I can get out and explore. Dew point right now is 73!
I have to go to Great Clips Kindergarten class again even tho I just went (again) a year and a half ago!
Now they have it where you do on-line classes first and then go to the in-person class for just 2 days. So today I need to do the on-line classes. Such a waste of time but at least I get paid for the time I put in.
Gotta finish my laundry and take the trash to the dumpster and get my dishes washed today, too.
Have a good day!

Oh, Mickie, what a wonderful reuniting!
Cheryl, Door County is beautiful, and hopefully won't be as crowded as it's sometimes getting to be. My sister and bil still go, usually twice a summer.
Barbie, surprising that they can't use your last class.
Nothing new here. Intending to do some sorting /cleaning in the rig and mainly be a bum.

Good Morning! Mickey, wonderful story!!! Have fun getting reacquainted . Took sone things down to the TT yesterday. Today going to Wal-Mart for groceries. Still get tired easily and must rest frequently. But, feel good!
All the staff here at the condo saw the video, but no one else has mentioned it. I quit attempting to break the scooters as I was afraid of being held liable! Many people really dislike the scooters, however, the CITY won't do anything to get rid of them. The two candidates running for mayor have opposing views. Our current mayor is the one who allowed 20 deaths from Hep A to occur before doing something about the homeless peeing and pooping in the streets.
Have a nice day! Lyn

Mickie, glad you met up with your friend.
We are still under a flood watch but missed it yesterday. So far it's just lite rain today but there is a big area in the Gulf. The weather guy said we could get 8 inches if it rained in one area for a couple of hours. My yard is a soggy mess.
I am cooking some pork ribs in BBQ sauce in the oven. I'm too lazy to cook them on the grill and have to watch them while they cook. I don't know why I feel like I have to have BBQ on Sunday. I made waffles in my mini cooker this morning. Just mixed up a fourth of the recipe and it made 3 waffles. I could have eaten all of them but didn't. It's a pain to not gain weight.
I have to bring Sadie and Inky to Spay Nation in the morning so have to get up early. They are the last ones that have to go except the kittens. It will be a few months before they are old enough. I use to have to bring them one morning and pick them up the next but last time it was all in one day. Not much else gets done except going back and forth to Lafayette and waiting your turn. I'm just glad they have a place to bring the dogs and cats.
For the ones that missed them, I posted pictures of Sparkle's beach adventure on Friday's post.

Good morning all,
Lyn, I had to backtrack to find out about you knocking over scooters. I can just see you doing that! I agree they need some stronger rules/laws about them. I was in Pacific Beach a couple of weeks ago & they are everywhere! When they're in the streets they hold up traffic - or I'm afraid I'm going to hit them when they drive in the gutter area & when on sidewalks they're a danger to pedestrians. Before all the rental ones came out it wasn't a big deal for the occassional one but they have definitely gotten out of hand.
Mickie, what a sweet story - have fun catching up.
Cheryl, if the House on the Rock in Spring Green, WI [url]
https://www.thehouseontherock.com[url] is close to where you'll be, its worth spending a day there. I took the kids there 20 years ago - it was amazing! We've always wanted to go back, but never have.
Barbie, that is HOT! Yikes!
Just going to clean up some more around here today in prep for the kids coming up next weekend.
Stay cool & safe out there.
Take care,
Catherine

Went to church this morning. First time there altho I have been watching their services on You Tube for the past couple months. I really enjoyed being there in person. Being a non-denominational, all-inclusive, open-minded church in Palm Springs, there are a lot of gay people and couples who attend it. The minister is also gay. He is an excellent speaker, very dynamic with a great sense of humor. I bought some books in their bookstore. They have some classes I would like to attend.
Stopped at the grocery store before heading home. Also stopped to check on Roxanne (my TT) and put on her license tag. I checked my storage unit there too and realized it is half empty. I think I can get what is left, into my porch if I get some things currently in my porch put away. That will save me a chunk of money each month to get rid of that unit. Will try to get that done in the next couple weeks. Once it cools off around here I will be able to get more done with the porch and the stuff in it. Will be nice to get the porch cleared out and decorated the way I want (southwest motif and colors) and be able to hang out there to relax with the breeze blowing thru!
I still have empty cupboards in the house for things, and then I want to downsize some things I don't need. I have way too many clothes and too much stuff for the bathroom that I don't use or need and don't have space for.
Then I braved the heat and humidity again
to take my trash to the dumpster and laundry to the clubhouse laundry room. I was soaked in sweat by the time I got back home. Usually sweat evaporates right away but not with this humidity! Also more stinky smell from the Salton Sea blowing up here. They really need to do something about that.
Have a good evening!

Well. . . don't hold your breath on that one. Or maybe you should!
Likely no one will be able to "do something about that", because no one knows how to stop a volcano from venting gas.
The smell - hydrogen sulfide gas (the rotten egg smell) - is related to the (potentially) active volcanism located at the south end of the Salton Sea. Hydrogen sulfide gas belches up from the water from the magma chamber located below the sea, and then the gas permeates the surrounding area. It is a poison gas when concentrated. Unfortunately, if it is concentrated enough to be smelled, it might also be concentrated enough to be harmful, so you might want to do a bit of checking.

Just got back from a 6 mile bike ride along the lake on the paved bike path. I have hardly ridden my bike for almost a year because my platelets were low, but they have been getting better lately, so off I went. I do love to ride my electric bike. The bike path is pretty smooth and very empty, so I made sure to tell a couple of people when I started and when I finished.
My bike was really filthy, so I had to scrub it up and oil a few things before I could take off. Right now I have just a cheap tarp over it, but I do have a brand new bike cover I will put on it when I am done riding tomorrow. Been saving it for when I had time to clean up my bike.
