Wet Saturday

It is miserable out. We are supposed to head to Glacier NP today, we are about 120 miles south in a campground in Choteau. We have reservations in Saint Mary and had to pay for the entire stay up front non refundable of course. The weather here has gone from ugly to worse. Flash flood alerts for whole area. 100% chance of rain for today and tomorrow. So not sure yet what we will do. For sure not driving in pouring rain. And even if we get to Saint Mary - no sense going into Glacier with the rain. Don't think I'll even be able to change the reservation dates in St Mary as all the parks there are booked.
So guess we'll watch the weather for a while, call the park there and see what is going on and then decide. And of course it is quite cold - Bill has the furnace running all night.
Been blogging about our trip so far up through Grand Teton and Yellowstone. Saw lots of animals. and weather has been perfect.
Take care if you are on the road.

Carol, if you can get up there, the weather should be clear for the middle of the week. And I'm jealous because I've still never been there with Going to the Sun road open. That's still on my bucket list. Pick one of those sunny days and drive that!

I need to get my act together and head into Rapid to do some grocery shopping. Lazing in bed has taken priority this morning.

Mornin' Carol, Beth & all who follow~~~

Beautiful country you're driving thru. I'm supposed to be in that area now also, but with the hail damage to the truck and trailer, things changed.

Sounds like your GPS is like mine with the notice of the phones call coming in, etc. Look around in the settings. You should be able to set distance on some of the messages, so it will give you fair warning about turns, speed limits etc. Hope the weather gets better for you.

Still on the Big Muddy until tomorrow then I move to another CG...on the Big Muddy.

Still looking at maps to the south east. Half tempted to do the Blue Ridge Parkway. I don't know. Kind of dreading the winter in the SE, probably because im not a big fan of Florida. Maybe if I stall enough, I won't find anyplace to stay. Problem solved!

Have a good day everyone. Stay safe wherever you are.

Cheryl, I have heard that it's easier to find sites in the panhandle of Florida in the winter than farther South. That would be about even with where I am and our winters are not that bad. On a trip to Florida several year ago I found out that the State Park near Gulf Shores has long term camping in the winter. Maybe the other parks do too.

Don't know what I'll do today since I got my trip to Lafayette done yesterday. My meetup group was meeting at 9:00 this morning. I would liked to go to that restaurant but didn't feel like getting to Lafayette at 9:00 on Saturday. My 2 friends in the group are camping.

I am leaving Thursday for a campout with the Getawaygals in Natchitoches. The "theme" is wild west saloon girl campout. This is one of the camping groups that like to dress up but not me. I just like to hang out with my friends and watch the show. I should put everything that needs to be loaded in the utility room and bring a load every time I go out. Trying to do it all in one day in this heat will kill me.

The outside cats would probably like for me to get dressed and go feed.

Got up this morning and went to a class about Social Security thru the local college. It was pretty interesting and the guy doing the class was really funny and made it easy to understand. A lot of it didn't pertain to me tho since I am not married or widowed or have any pension or investments. Looks like I will be working for quite awhile yet.

Otherwise a pretty quiet day here. The house next door that has been empty since before I moved in, has been sold and I saw a couple there today for awhile. So new neighbors!

Lola isn't too happy about not having her canned food anymore but her stools are normal and not even too stinky now either! Yay! I only have her on the Prednisone now and vet says I need to keep her on that indefinitely. Calypso, my beta fish is happy today since I cleaned out his little tank. I also cleaned Lola's ears and clipped her claws, so critters are all doing well now. :D

I have been "going" to church each week via YouTube, but I decided I really need to actually go there so will get my butt out of bed tomorrow morning and experience it in person. It is in Palm Desert which is a pretty affluent area out here (also where I work) and they have some pretty prominent musicians/singers performing for their services. I have always gravitated to either Unity or Science of Mind churches and this one is Science of Mind (now known as Center For Spiritual Living). They are more spiritual than religious and non-denominational. It fits well for me.

Have a good night!
