Wonderful summer day here in Ohio. I am leaving in about 30 minutes to head south of Cincinnati to meet up with Lyn and Bill who own Audrey's sister Daisy. We each drive half way between Cincinnati and Louisville and meet in a mall parking lot as part of the Daisy transportation system to get her to Columbus for a romantic week. I pick her her up and transport her to a halfway point between my house and Cindy's. It is what retired people who don't mind driving do apparently for fun and friends. I haven't seen Lyn and Bill since staying at their house during the Louisville dog shows in March.
Lark is after me to call her breeder. Her first family have deep roots, and knowledge, in performance events from Obedience, tracking, nose work, rally, agility and hunt titles. Rhonda had said I could come to the house and she would go over the changes in the obedience rules and patterns that have been created in the 15 years since I have shown in any performance events in AKC. Lark and I squeaked by in the UKC show in the spring but I know that I cost us some points for handler sloppiness.
Josef is getting ready to head out on Thursday for another 4 day show in northern Ohio and I have been cruising the internet looking at travel options for oversees and have found several that caught my attention. I know that I should be thinking up projects and working around here on useful things but alas, I am not. When it gets really hot outside, reading keeps me still...until nap time.
I had a nice lunch with Sharon the other day. Her shoulder is healing up and she is working for more range of motion and healing. Thus aging stuff and healing is a chore for sure but we marshal through it.
Now may you go have some fun and create some laughter.

We have a gorgeous morning today. Time to go to the park!
Drew says 'Good for you, Lark! Sometimes the humans need to be pushed a little, don't they?'
Drew's class is over, which means Camp Driveway at my old friends' house is over too. I'll miss that. I may need think about that more -- staying in the van doesn't have to mean far distances and campgrounds, after all.
I'm starting to look at campsites on Skyline Drive for October and thinking I should make reservations soon. Any recommendations?

We still have scattered showers in the area and I think I heard some thunder. I still want to go to Lafayette but not moving very fast. I called for an appointment to get my hair cut tomorrow before I start whacking on it myself. I have an eye doctor appointment tomorrow and they alway dilate my eyes. I know I won't feel like driving to Lafayette after that.
Another restaurant closed in Lafayette. The Cheddar's closed and it looked like it was doing good to me. The food was good and the prices were reasonable. The restaurants that close don't give anyone any notice. Employees show up for work one day and they don't have a job. The meet up group that I eat out with is meeting Friday night at an Italian restaurant. I looked at their menu on line and they look pretty up scale to me, especially the prices. I'm still trying to decide if I'm going or not.
Tina, transporting dogs is a good excuse to travel. The local animal aid is always looking for volunteers to help transport dogs to other rescues. If I didn't have to worry about Hank all the time I would volunteer for the first leg of the trip North. If other areas don't have enough dogs to adopt and we have too many something just isn't right here. There is a low cost spay and neuter clinic but people must just be too damn lazy to bring their pets. I'll get off my soap box now.

Still barely A.M. as start this, so Mornin' ladies~~~
Started reorganizing stuff the stuff thats stored in the truck bed, now that I picked stuff up that was kept at a friend's while the truck was in the shop. Next thing on the to do list is make a cover to put over the sun roof if hail storms are coming since the back ordered sun roof delayed the truck repair by roughly 2 weeks. And yes, I'll only put it on if parked.
Hobby Lobby had a sale on 2" foam and will attach it to a tarp (for now), so I can just roll it out quickly if needed. Also looking for a vinyl windshield cover too but seems hard to find one in the right size.
Nice weather here this week with some rain later. Heat and humidity is coming back this weekend. Ugh!
Have routes planned for when I leave on the 5th. Over to the Mississippi for 2 weeks, meeting friends by Galena for a bit, then up thru Wisconsin and down thru Michigan's mitten to Ohio for a visit to Cuyahoga NP.
Also looking at Quarter Horse Congress schedule to get a horsey fix for a few days. The show runs all month with lots to see. Been years since ive been to Congress.
That's if from me. Now officially afternoon. Have a good day everyone.

Well, My new job lasted three hours before my knee swelled up like a cantaloupe. I'm sad about it, but I’ll get over it. I just hate being weak... time to acknowledge that physical jobs standing on concrete aren’t a good fit for me.

It finally cooled off here. Sunday was one of the worst days with temps of 94 and heat index of over 110 in some places. Sunday night though the rains came and yesterday was very nice by afternoon. This mornings low was 58!!! Quite a change from it being around 75 at 6:00AM!!! I hope we are done with heat waves for a long time!! My silly little dog swould ask to out an sun on the back porch almost every day! I would set the timer for 7 minutes and them would have to make them come in! Weird!! Emma goes to the trainer every day except Sunday. I keep telling DH we should just let her live there and visit us on Sunday! She adores the trainer and her DH ( and they love her ) and being there with her dog.s They all go to interesting places and other dogs come in to train and they 'help' She has a large indoor air conditioned training area, needless to say Emma is bored when she is here. I have a massage this afternoon and I am so glad!!

August is just around the corner...just sayin'
Mickey, sorry your job didn't work out. Hope you can find a sit-down job that suits you better.
Lola finally ate this morning but it is the cheap store bought food with no meds mixed in. I figure it is better to just have her eat something at this point. The powdered meds aren't fooling her at all. Back to the diarrhea for now
.
Off to work shortly. It is cloudy, hot and humid with a chance of rain and thunderstorms tonight and tomorrow. I am on the other side of the valley from the mountains so probably won't get much here.

Barbie, will Lola eat any of the Temptations treats. I don't know what's in them but my cats would like to have a steady diet of them. It looks like getting something dry into her would help. I have trouble regulating what Hank eats. He won't eat enough dry food to keep his weight up but if I feed him just canned food he almost has diarrhea. I have to mix some dry food with the canned. If I mix too much dry he leaves a lot of it.

Martha, I do have some dry food out for her and she nibbles on that occasionally. I noticed this morning that she has dandruff which means her skin is dry and flaky. Probably from being dehydrated. I ordered some tiny gel caps from Amazon to put the powder in and see if I can give it to her that way. This is so frustrating and challenging! I want her to be happy and comfortable but also as healthy as she can be at this point. It is hard to accomplish both right now.

Went to my Primary care Dr this morning and he looked at my blood work six, nine, and twelve mo ago and looked at my twice daily recorded BP, etc and said, Go Home , you are to healthy to be here! My size 14 jeans are getting loose ( started at tight 24) and my muscles are getting bigger and stronger. He said keep doing what you are doing. I'll continue to Keto/Carnivore on and walking and going to Curves.
Barbie, I'm so sorry Lola is having such a hard time, our fur babies mean so much to us.
I did get a good news/bad news back with Mamdys blood work six weeks post I-131 for her hyperthyroid - her thyroid is now right where they want it but her kidney values are up some. (in some older kitties hidden kidney issues are exposed by fixing thyroid problem). My vet will consult with UCDavis Internal Medicine, which is what UCD instructed this morning, and will proceed from there. I'm looking at supplements. Mandy is up a healthy pound from before her treatment, which pleases all of us! She is eating, drinking and playing.
104 yesterday and on its way up today. Warm rest of week. But humidity only 47%!
Mickie, so sorry about your knee. Low carb will help but takes time. Finally after two plus years of Keto, my right knee almost never bothers me, even after 5 plus miles walking in a day, but it's taken that long.
Glad the dogs are such a good influence on you all!
Have a good rest of your day and week all.

Only charged me $150 labor and he was here for several days off and on. Very happy with my new doors. Those suckers sure are not cheap tho.
Went to the Post Office today.............Beth your book is on the way. They couldnt find that address in their computer but said sometimes the rural areas dont come up..........whoa. He said they would push it thru anyway and it will most likely arrive. Tracking number 9549 0131 9231 9204 2679 26 Hopefully it will arrive LOL Tuesday 7/30 est.
Then went to the grocery store as I had to buy some snacks and a few other things I needed. I am hosting our game night tonight so we always have a few snacks and I had none. I am good now, and didnt buy too many as I sure dont need to be snacking LOL

Sitting at work. Some nasty thunderstorms heading over the mountains in this direction. Flash flood warnings for the mountain areas and now just south of Indio where I live. High winds and heavy rains. I hope it stays south since I have some things on the patio in cardboard boxes that I don't want getting wet. Looks like we might get some rain here at work too. Can hear the thunder off in the distance.
Kind of quiet here today. Got some good tips tho.

Thanks, Karen. I'll watch for it.
I feel for all the kitties.
Today I played hooky and went playing with Linda on one of her days off. We bounced around in Deadwood, ending at a gold mine there. Fun tour. It's been a tourist attraction way more years than it was an acting gold mine.
