Wonderful Sunday

Following Martha’s adventures in weather in Louisiana. Hoping for a break.

Sunday’s post coming from LaGuardia Airport while waiting for me flight home. My daughter walked my legs and feet off and I am ready to rest up. Her motto is see as many Museums as you can, push your body and recover later. I learned much about moving around the city and look forward to returning in the future. My friend from high school has offered my his available couch next time. He and my stepsister met us at a small Malaysian Restaurantlast night. Apparently we timed dinner perfectly to coordinate with the power outage in Midtown. The subways in the area were down and taxis and Uber’s were in high demand. Roger had the fun of clamoring down 18 floors from his apartment to find all the lights on the Broadway Shows dark and all the potential theater goers standing bewildered on the street. He did manage to make his way to the restaurant. The excitement after dinner was trying to figure out a way back homes. I got to watch Roger and my Step sister Libby dialogue on which alternatives would serve us best after it was apparent there really were no available cabs on the street and Uber and others were taking advantage of the subway situation to gouge prices. Roger said he just wanted me to have the full New York experience and watch New Yorkers take everything in stride. On the other hand he was quite pleased to learn from a friends text that the electric was back on in his building and he wouldn’t have to climb back up those 18 flights of stairs. So, yes, I did enjoy and survive my NYC adventures but am pleased to know that I have a massage scheduled for Tuesday. My body will especially appreciate it!

Make yourself a wonderful day!

Tina, glad you are enjoying your visit to NY. Sounds exciting! I have never been there.

I just got some bad news. My older brother, David, who was in the car accident a couple years ago, has not been doing well (of course no one told me that) and he fell yesterday in the house and fractured 2 vertebrae in his neck. He had surgery to fuse the vertebrae together.
Their house in MN is in escrow and they have an apartment rented in Phoenix and will be moving there soon. I plan to go out there to see him as soon as they get there. It sounds like he has been declining in health for some time. Maybe that is why my other brother, Paul, was so upset that I didn't go to the wedding. Had I known David's compromised health situation, I would have gone. I wish they would all keep me in the loop better!! How am I supposed to know if no one tells me??

Just relaxing here today. I need a day off with nothing planned!

Just checking in to see what everyone is up to recently.
That was quite an adventure for you Tina. Massage sounds like a good idea.
Sorry about brother Barb
Nothing much new happening in my world.

Good morning, Tina, great adventure in a great city. I’ve loved my visits to NYC.
Feeling pretty good today. Both Benji and I are happy to get back to our quiet routine.
Boy, Velda, you can brag all you want on that son of yours! He did all the hard work to accomplish what he did, now the Mama can brag!

Tina, I'm so glad you & your daughter had a good time in NY. Since we're from the east coast, we been to NYC and Steve has driven through many times in the big truck. Barbie, I'm so sorry your other brother wasn't telling you about the goings ons in your family. Lyn, I enjoyed reading about your adventures in Michigan with Sue.

It's no longer morning, but I slept in this morning until almost 7:30. I haven't done that in years. After a very light breakfast, we went back to the Bill Cody museum and got in at no charge since we paid several days ago, but now we can say we saw it all. That is an unbelievable place. Tomorrow we are going to see the Mustangs and the next day doing a trail ride. Wednesday we leave to head further west to Butte.

I got home about an hour ago. All the pastures are flooded except one. The water is over the ponds. Hope the alligators take this oppurnity to move on. I was afraid of what I would come home to. Last night the neighbors were told that water was coming over the locks in Intracoastal City and to get out. The highway is closed just past my road. The water got close but none in the barns and old house. The wind peeled about 20' of the roof back on a wing on the metal barn.

Hank and I are glad to be home. Poor thing was so confused that he just walked in circles and panted. Good thing I had brought a big kennel to put him in. He is really glad to be home.

I was afraid that the wind would have moved the internet dish or the Directv dish but it didn't . I just can't get my big monitor to come on. If I have any misspelled words it's because the print is so small on the laptop that I can hardly see it. I'm sure there is a way to make it larger but I don't know how.

Hello Everybody,
Tina, glad you had a total NYC experience! I always enjoy my time in the city; it is so stimulating.

Martha, so happy to hear that you are okay and not a lot of damage to your property. Maybe the alligators will take a hike.
I had a fun camp out in New York and am now back home. Had a nice gtg with Carol B and Osharon. They are both well and return greetings. Peggy

Martha, from the news I didn't think you'd be able to head home yet... Glad I'm wrong and that things aren't worse than they are. And poor Hank!

Martha, so glad you are able to be home so soon! I assume the kitties are all OK too! Be careful with more rain coming. Give Hank lots of hugs!

Irmi, I hope you are taking lots of pics! Sounds like you are getting out to see a lot of cool places!

I should be doing laundry but am being lazy. Temp is 110, heading to 114 later. We are under an excessive heat warning for today and thru tomorrow before it starts to cool down a bit.

I wanted to check out a church today but didn't wake up in time. Their service is video'd and posted on You Tube so I watched it later on there. Looks like a fun church with a great minister so I will try to get there next Sunday. It is in Palm Desert close to the shop I work at so is about a 25 minute drive too.

All the cats are ok. CC didn't kill anyone. I usually leave him outside when I'm gone. He's outside now ruling the world, the little rat. I'll make him come in before I go to bed. Pinky has been pestering me so I finally followed her to see what she wanted. Her water bowl was empty. There are 2 other bowls but she wants her own.
