Cooler Thursday

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Cooler Thursday

Postby Colliemom » Thu Jul 11, 2019 8:03 am

Good Morning all. After a muggy, hot 90 degree day here yesterday, it is much cooler here today. Low 70’s. Way more comfortable. Good working outside weather and perfect camping weather. Got back from my 8 days of U.P. camping last Saturday. Am now doing things around here and then later will be prepping for another trip later this month.

Been reading and trying to keep up with happenings on here. See a number of you are out on the road or getting ready to head out. Martha, sounds like a big mess headed your way. Hope it doesn’t flood you out with rain. Irmi, enjoy Yellowstone. Make sure you hit the Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone. I spent. A week touring the park. Camped in West Yellowstone. Are you going to Grand Teton? You really should as it’s beautiful. Barb, I answered your PM.

Need to head to shower and wash my hair after sweating In the heat yesterday, then get this day moving. Hope you all have a good one.

Off to work soon. Not used to getting up so early!

Irmi, you will need at least 2 days to do Yellowstone. There is a south loop and a north loop. It took me one whole day to do the south loop. Never got to the north loop since my car was in the shop most of the week that I was out there.

Once I get the trailer to the storage lot and clear out the larger unit, then I can relax for a bit before getting back to unpacking and organizing more stuff around here.

I need a nap already and I just got up!

Good morning Sue, Barbie & everyone!

Sue, I'm so glad you had a good camping trip. Now you can rest up a bit before leaving on your next trip. Barbie, I'm glad your first day at the shop went well.

We are going back to Yellowstone today as Sue & Barbie said, you can't see the entire park in just one day. We spent the day in Yellowstone yesterday and saw Old Faithful. Once we got through the park entrance, it took another two hours to get to that section of the park. So we parked, had a nice lunch at the Old Faithful Inn and then walked to Old Faithful. The scenery was awesome and that's putting it mildly. I'm sure today will be just as spectacular.

Enjoy your day, whatever you are doing.

I must respectfully disagree. In my opinion, one would need a lifetime - at least - to completely experience the awesome entirety of the park. Yellowstone comprises 2.2 million acres - it is larger than the states of Rhode Island and Delaware combined.

I spent seven days in Yellowstone last year, staying at the nice Grizzly RV park in West Yellowstone (about a mile from the park entrance). The park was heaven on earth.

We got the vehicles, mower and golf cart moved to town this morning. The tractor and 4 wheeler are on the carport on the hill. I hope we are doing all this for nothing. I still need to pick up the stuff in the yard. Hope they are planning on picking up the trash in the morning. I will head out to Lafayette with Hank sometime tomorrow. I didn't go to sleep until about 1:00 and was up at 5:00 so might have to take a nap until it cools off some.

Martha, I, too, hope it was all for nothing. But I'm glad you still prepare!

Sue, it's been nice here when not raining... But today's hot and to hit 90. I'll be happy to send this on east. :)

It is hot here, and I had to check my cell phone to figure out what day of the week it is. I goofed when I wrote my dates for Emigrant Lake in my calendar. I thought my last day was the 11th, but that was the day I was supposed to check out. So I had to leave this morning and headed to Southern Oregon RV Park in Medford which always has space available for walk-ins. This is a very new and very nice campground at the county fairgrounds. EXCEPT, as I pulled in, I noticed a ferris wheel and a lot of other fair items--oops! This is the week of the county fair. Luckily, they had a cancellation, and I got the last spot, which was a back-in. Whew! Hope it will not be noisy tonight, but having electric hookups is a necessity in this hot weather, so I will put up with any noise. It is not easy to wing-it in the summer.

Tomorrow I head to Joseph Stewart recreation area, a state park about 40 miles from here. There two days and then back to Eugene for my eye surgery.

Anne, I agree. Two days will take you to the main tourist sights along the two loops but there is so much more to see there if you have the time. Someday I hope to go back and have more time to explore.

Martha, I am glad you are evacuating. Better safe than sorry! Too many people wait too long and then get into trouble. Keep us updated on your situation! Where are the kitties?

Another good day at work. Was pretty busy so the time went fast. I work tomorrow and Saturday and then have Sunday off.

It is 114* right now. More of the same for the next week. Luckily, it is pretty breezy out so that helps some.

Just got home today from camping up at Joseph H Stewart State Park. Limited cell service, no internet, or tv BUT I survived. Went camping with a new group of ladies and they were super fun. A couple of them went fishing and caught some awesome trout 17 of them. They gave me one and I fixed it tonite. Most of them were 16-17 inches. I baked it in the oven and it was super moist and delicious. There were 8 or 9 of us, we picked up a couple single ladies along the way LOL Weather was perfect and I will definitely go with them again.

Irmi will be watching and hoping it goes well for you. Glad you are smart enough to get outta Dodge while the getting out is good. Hopefully it will all be for nothing.....but.....it is looking a bit scary.

Barbie hope all goes well at your new job. Seems like now maybe you can get some sort of a routine between playtime and work time ha ha

Hot here today 92 but my AC is doing fine. It was a little warm when I was unloading and then dumping my tanks. I didnt want to wait in line up at the park and since we have a dump station in our RV storage lot that was good. It is on the wrong side of course, so I had to turn around so I could get close enough. I forgot to open my fridge so need to get over there tomorrow morning but Emma will enjoy the walk.

another busy day we finished up the doors and drawers all think 29 total then deglazed them. and after supper we will fill in the holes as she doesn't want to put put the hardware on... expensive to replace and she is tired of them... tomorrow we plan on deglazing the face and sides of the cupboard and letterboxing and a concert in the evening... Hugh Jackman will be preforming....
am tired now to fill in holes lots of holes will put the hardware back on the drawers though but there is only 4 of those
be careful Martha listen to the weather man and do all you need to do
Irmi lots to see in Yellowstone..so pack in what you can and then return...My favorite geyser hasn't been to good at spouting off recently but hear that another one that has been silent for a bit has spouted off quite a bit.. Not sure how old Old Faithful is look at the age of the park it was there then but who knows when it started it's gig...
Barbie enjoy your new place of employment hope you have the amount of hours you need.
just was told my help wasn't needed guess it's fairly easy and only one tube of filler
so full and will make dip when the girls get here have enough cake and a bit of dip so will add to it

Karen, do you have Verizon? I am going to be in trouble without it. The rvparkreview site says they have cell service there, but the Verizon site is iffy.
