Beautiful Saturday

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Beautiful Saturday

Postby Colliemom » Sat Jun 22, 2019 6:43 am

Good Morning everyone. Daylight and sunshine here this morning. Another gorgeous day on the forecast. Loving this weather. Temps in 70’s, lows in upper 40’s or low 50’s. According to NWS, this will pretty much be our weather for the summer this year, due to the jet stream not going back into Canada, but staying over us. Great camping or sightseeing weather, but here I am, at home.

Haven’t been posting, but have been reading. But have been busy with my trailer, giving inside a good cleaning, doing some cosmetic upgrades and giving the exterior a much needed bath as well as cleaning the awning, putting protectant on All the trim and slide seals. Discovered one of my clearance marker lights is missing a lens cover, so playing seek and ye shall find for a new one. Checked al the caulking and looking good. Just gong to put a bit of new caulk around the top of baggage doors to my storage areas. Now it’s time to start getting ready for upcoming camping week.

See a number of you are out traveling around, some having way too hot weather, others way too much rain. Beth, how is business at the store? Judy, been following your issues with your aunt and uncle. What a mess. But at least the legal experts are on your side. Can’t remember what all else is happening, but know I am thinking of you all.

Need to get moving here. Heading to town and Farmers Market with neighbor. Want some fresh farm eggs for my camping trip. Going to be interesting to see who has what at the market this summer. With all the rain, Farmers are not planting corn and who knows what else. Have a nice day everyone. Stay safe out there.

Good morning Sue and all that follow. Beautiful day here today and will be in the low 80's, perfect weather for me. Have lots of housekeeping duties and laundry to tend to today. Planning on taking tomorrow off LOL Will be shampooing my carpets sometime this week.

Took Emma for a walk this morning and she got to greet several of her dog friends. Love walking in the cool of the morning. Now she is curled up sleeping, wore the pup out.

I need to wash my house and windows but will wait for it to heat up as I usually end up with a shower also.

Time for a hearty breakfast today.

Well it isn't beautiful weather here!! It is raining AGAIN, many roads closed after several inches added to the flooded areas. It is supposed to be really humid here when the rain stops with temp index around 100. I don't like that the cooler weather is expected to stay north this summer!!
I dreamed last night that I asked my friend to take Emma to the groomer for me and she told them to give here a Donald Duck cut. Her head was dyed bright yellow when I picked her up and cut into the shape of a ducks bill :o :o Some people do dye Poodles hair and I have seen them dyed like a Zebra and other weird cuts but a duck!! I guess it was something I ate!
Karen your Emma looks all comfy!
We just went out to the local diner for biscuits and gravy. YUM The place has been here for years and it is always busy. We like to sit at the counter and watch the grill cook, it takes a lot of practice to keep everything organized.

In Napa, and getting packed for my trip to Florida on Tuesday morning. Had a little trouble finding storage for a couple of weeks for my RV, but the place i had stored it before took pity on me when i told her it was a family emergency, and I was desperate. They are completely full, but she found me a spot and charged me only $33 for two weeks. (I told her two weeks in case I got delayed.)

Today is going to be hot, but i am going to head out in a couple of minutes to go for a bike ride. Want to hit the computer repair store, the kitchen shop, and end up at Ben and Jerry's for mint chocolate chip ice cream--one flavor they do not sell in stores. Might stop at Kohls, also. Kids are visiting DILs father in Oakville for the weekend, and I was invited but I passed because i have some errands to run and need some time to relax and catch up on my small tasks.

Sue, I heard from a friend that the mosquitoes are out in force in Michigan. This was the time of year about 4 years ago my grandkids from California went camping in upper Michigan with me and were shocked at the mosquitos because they have very few in California. Luckily, I had head nets with me I had bought for Florida, so they enjoyed wearing them the whole time!

OK, I am off to get my bike out!

Good morning gals!

Still laying in bed but dressed. I noticed my sliding door doesn't lock now so it needs to be adjusted. Luckily, I ran into the handyman last night at Walmart and he said he will be over sometime this morning to adjust it for me.

Need to do some clean-up and reorganizing of the mess in the porch. Everything just got tossed into a big pile in there to get it out of the way for the furniture. Some of it goes to the dumpster, some to the thrift store and some is mine to be put away yet.

I think I will have to do some more downsizing around here since I am running out of places to store stuff and still have a lot in the storage units.

This afternoon, there is an ice cream social at the clubhouse, and a meeting about disaster preparedness. I guess they have a great plan for the winter months but nothing set up for the summer if there was an earthquake and no power here. Not a good thing with the heat! So they want to get a plan together for that.

The ferocious winds finally died down to a nice breeze. But the heat moves back in.

Today is the 12 year anniversary of my mom's passing. I still miss her every day! :( We were best friends. She showed me what unconditional love is. :D
Barbie, Romeow, and Sophie, missing Lola! (and lots of ferrets running around in my heart!)

We had sun today! I say had because we've also had clouds and currently have clouds again. But it was wonderful while the sun visited. I unhooked the rv and went into Rapid today. Hair cut, groceries, etc. I even ran the generator driving back with the house air on as it was past time for it's monthly exercising. Ty needs some exercise so I see a good walk in the not too distant future.

Last night I got called from the store regarding dryers not drying clothes.. So while I let them give a couple refunds I didn't believe it. This morning I tested all the dryers and every one ran hot. A few people doing laundry this morning got free dryer time. I did discover two dryers set at the lowest temp and a couple on medium... Chances are it was all operator error.

I am still wishing for the opportunity to complain about the heat!!! had one day where I was over dressed and driving and the sun was pouring through the window and I thought boy is it hot!!! then I scolded myself for complaining...we just have not had a hot spring at all... this morning I think it was checked out something on FB and it was a posting about snow a lot of snow in Montana.... one good thing is that at this time of the year it doesn't stick around for long.
yesterday we went over to my mom's with the intent to make freezer meals for my mom ... she rarely cooks any more and although my dd is over there several times during the week.. she admittedly isn't much into cooking so it is often a matter of take out or pizza... which can be expensive... mom does get meals on wheels 3 times a week... my eldest daughter is a Pampered Chef consultant and one of the things they offer is parties where they make freezer meals... using items from the pantry (seasonings, rubs, ect) usually they choose a category and prepare meals from that menu... we choose all over and made several meals... as it is just the two of them we took a recipe that feeds 4-5 people and put them into two bags....so one meal is for two days... think we figured that we did up about 27=30 meals for them not including the browned up ground beef in two bags that could make soup or tacos or taco salad.. and two meals of enchiladas and at least one perhaps two bags of pork roast that can be cooked in a crock pot... so a good day
today we had to take eldest dd part way to Utah meeting her husband so he could take her the rest of the way... the girls decided to letter box on the way... tried to find a series of 5 in Rexburg found one but not the other 4 they were in a beautiful park at the college really enjoyed the gardens... it's near the agi building. I went there many years ago and do not recall this garden being there at the time...
it was a good day

My sincere condolences, Barbie. Not everyone is lucky enough to have had a mother as you had.

Cherish the memories.

Beth, speaking of "operator error": I don't often go to the laundromat, but have begun to take my bedding in because it is easier to just put everything in at once into one of the big washers they have, and "get 'er done". When I first started going to the laundromat that is near to me, I put my wet load into a dryer, and put in my quarters and was extremely peeved when the dryer failed to start.

Then I realized that I had put my money into the wrong slot - the owner of the clothes in the dryer above mine got a bit of a free dry!! (The coin slots for both dryers were side-by-side).

Felt kind of stupid, but what the hey. LOL!

I think there is a learning curve for those large dryers with the coin slots next to each other. There is a reason I look very carefully now before committing my coins. We at least learn over time. Then there is the learning curve for the machines that use credit cards and the ones that use tokens.......I believe that several of us learned a few new skills as we traveled to Alaska......

And one of the tricky lessons at a rather full laundromat.....finding/remembering that last washing machine, over there by itself, in time to dry the clothes with the others...... On the way to the car with a basket of dry clothes is better than driving off without the wet ones but still not the preferred time......
