It’s Wednesday

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

It’s Wednesday

Postby Othersharon » Wed Jun 19, 2019 8:45 am

Good morning! At least I think it’s Wednesday! It’s been a crazy few days around here. My daughter in law is recovering from her surgery and last word I had last night they’ll be coming home today. I’ll take their puppy back to them and do any running they might need or if they need. I won’t be going down for the funeral for my sister in law today. Fortunately nephew and niece understand why I’m not coming. Judy, I really feel for you with what you’re dealing with. It’s never easy it seems. And doing it long distance makes it even harder.
It’s going to be another on again off again today with the rain. So no yard work today again. Sounds like it’ll be Saturday before it dries out enough to be able to mow. But at least I’ve been able to pull some weeds between storms! But sure hard trying to stay ahead of them! What am I saying, they have taken over the flower beds and I so far haven’t been able to keep up with them! I’d rather be camping! I finally figured out a way to keep things from falling out of the medicine cabinet I put in Lola awhile back. It hit me yesterday when I was putting silverware away that the plastic holders were about the right size and when I tried it, they worked! Long and narrow, I just need to put a couple of little strips of Velcro on the bottom of them and voila, problem solved! So at least I got to visit Lola for awhile and puttered around in her! Rascal was ready to go and didn’t want to get out when I was done.
Puppy’s awake so need to get her outside so will quit rambling here and take care of her. Have a great day and travel safe!

Brave New Wednesday

Postby BirdbyBird » Wed Jun 19, 2019 8:55 am

Good Morning and welcome to a brave new day. Hope you still have enough energy left over from yesterday Judy to tackle whatever to day throws at you. Glad that you are at least near your son and family to help refill your "batteries" with some positives! And Beth, it is so nice that you keep work-camping in wonderful locations that keep attracting visitors. You are such a gracious sight seeing tour guide.

I am back to work on Thursday. My couple days off and ability to run errands ends after today, but that is probably a good thing. I always manage to spend money on my days off, picking up items "I've been meaning to buy" or "I've been thinking about purchasing" stuff. Talk about a material world. But again these opportunities dry up after the 4th of July or so.

Josef and I have a weekend off from dog showing coming up. I really need to find some water that is not in rain soaked "flood stage" and get my kayak wet. I still haven't repaired the seams on the Sea Eagle so Lark can't go for a ride yet. And I should look over the links that my daughter sent me regarding her suggestions of where to go and what to see in New York City when I fly up to meet her in the middle of July. I did tell her that I wasn't too worried about where we go. From experience I know that I can't see everything in a whirlwind three day visit but I would like to just relax and enjoy what I do see. She, being the artist that she is, has loaded the list with museums with the cravat that with some of the museum she doesn't really want to wander around all morning but just see a couple of the specific collections or temporary installments. That is when you know you are traveling with a woman with a plan.

Off to enjoy my last free day for awhile. Only a few appointments and errands scheduled to this afternoon. I hear those library books that I picked up Monday calling my name.

I had to drop Hank off at the vet's because he thinks he might have a urinary track infection and wants another sample. I'll be glad when his ear treatments are over. He manages to get the ear wash all over me. Good thing I wear glasses or I would have had it in my eyes.

My nose is running like a faucet this morning. I don't know if I picked up something at Walmart besides groceries or it's sinus. It's probably sinus because my teeth are hurting. I took something to dry it up but hasn't worked yet.

I got a little of the yard mowed but most of it is still too wet. I'll try again late this afternoon.

I'm trying to get the motorhome loaded so I'm not noon getting on the road tomorrow. MeMe loads up every time I open the camper door. I should take her camping. She's one of those cats that wants to bite you when you pet her. She isn't mean. I think she has wrestled with her brothers so much she thinks that's what she should do.

Good morning gals!

Slept in a bit this morning. The power was supposed to get turned of at 6am til noon or so today, but I still have power. Am happy about that. I am in what is called "Old Town" area of the park. They are still working on parts of this area but apparently I am not in the area with the power outage this time. Last time I wasn't either so was hoping it wouldn't affect me today.

Will continue working on unpacking the latest boxes I brought from the storage unit the other day. I also need to clean up the living room to make room for the love seats tomorrow night. Also lots of trash to be taken to the dumpster. The new golf cart will be very useful for little trips like that, instead of taking my car each time for that. Hoping I get the cart delivered by the end of the week.

I need to get ahold of the handyman my agent recommended. There are several little things around here that need to be taken care of. One thing I need is to have him add a couple of outside outlets, one on the deck and one in front for my golf cart to plug into. There is only one outside outlet and it is on the shed on the other side of the house from where I will park the golf cart.

Am expecting a few deliveries today so I can work on some decorating today too. Decorating makes the unpacking more tolerable! The fun part of moving in!

Sharon, I sure don't miss pulling weeds! Nice to have someone else taking care of my yard now! I also did what you are doing, with the medicine cabinet in my previous trailer. Those long plastic baskets fit perfect in there and keep everything from falling out when you open the door. In fact, I need to get some more. I use them for putting my spices in right above the back of my stove. I just hang them on hooks in the wall and they work great for that!

Have a good day!

Fixed pancakes and bacon for breakfast for son and grandkids. Kids really like eating at my place because they get real bacon instead of the turkey stuff and real maple syrup instead of the fake stuff! :D (Son tries to keep them healthy, but does not complain when either grandmas feed them junk,)

I had to get up really early to call the Florida bank. My slippery cousin is taking aunt and uncle out for lunch and we are afraid he will take them to the bank. Lawyer ran new copies of POA and doctors letters to bank because executive manager was on vacation and other copies are no doubt locked in her desk. We are insisting uncle's caregiver has to go with them, so it will be interesting.

The really good news is that i just turned my grades in. New class starts Monday but it will be small class. Now I am off to lunch with son and kids. I have literally not been out of RV except once to go over to their trailer in two days, so now i will get to explore and take some photos of noisy sea lions who bark even at night!!

I spoke too soon. Power went off about half an hour ago. Getting warm in here already so will have to pack Lola up and head to the clubhouse for awhile. My next door neighbor is living in her RV so she has her generator running.

What a crazy day! I was at the clubhouse for almost 2 hours. Only one other lady came in with her dog. Finally got a call that the power was back on so I waited about 20 minutes so the house would be cooled off when I got back. Once I got home tho, the power was on but not the AC. Called security (they handle everything around here!) and they came right over. Then another guy showed up, They couldn't get it to run either. Got a third guy over and he couldn't fix it either so they called for an electrician. Meanwhile it is hotter than blazes in the house. :o Apparently they got calls that some other people had the same problem so it wasn't just me. So I packed up Lola again and headed back to the club house. I missed the Wednesday dinner get-together with the group here again. Hopefully, next week I can make it finally! Just got back home after hearing they finally fixed the problem. It is cooling off in here but still 88 degrees. Poor Lola doesn't know what the heck is going on!

Then I got a call from the golf cart place saying that they are having problems charging my debit card. I couldn't do much about it today with no internet and everything else going on, so will deal with it tomorrow. My bank may be blocking it so will call them and see what the problem is.

Didn't get much else done here today and am too tired now to do much else. Maybe later on I will get a burst of energy!

I really have to stay away from the nursery!!!! more plants but need to get a planter that will hang
the ones I have sit on the ground and I want to plant fushia's. so need a planter that will hang. When I got home it was and is
really windy...plus the fushia's that I have are temporally where the petunia's are going so can't plant them either... then on the way home I thought I wish I'd gotten more spikes only got one then thought I will send money with my granddaughter and the name of what to look at and she can pick them up with her 30% off and I won't be tempted!!!! works for me
my eldest daughter is here my second dd went to pick her up and they didn't come and didn't come then all the sudden there they are asking if I wanted to go for a walk... so went for a walk got in just under 1/2 mile need to do it more often though. perhaps I could then do a mile .... haven't walked for ever so long other than to take Shadow out to pee and poop we don't have to go far for that...
eldest DD said she let me know on FB like I would see it as I don't reside on there... got in my 3 rows on the afghan and that has been my day... not much to report did get the feeders filled
my DD's car over heated so it's in Rexburg not sure what we will be doing tomorrow hopefully it is a quick fix...
