Good morning all. It’s shaping up to be another rainy day and probably the whole week and then some. Weatherman said it wasn’t going to be as wet this summer but not seeing it yet! I’m puppy sitting this week for son and daughter in law. She’s a sweet little girl but still working on housebreaking so we are pretty much contained to the kitchen. Don’t trust her anywhere else. I’ve been keeping her on a leash tethered to me when we go into the rest of the house. Luckily she sleeps well, just tossed her blanket on the bed and she settled right down. Good for me! Rascal is good with her so that’s another plus. He’s gotten a little jealous a couple of times but otherwise just ignores her. But they have played together a few times.
So much comings and goings on here lately! Everyone busy with summer here now! Trying to keep appointments down to a minimum in July so I can maybe get a trip or two in. And of course watching the forecast for a few sunny days or at least days with no rain! That’s about it from here! Nothing exciting and coffee is done so no excuse not to get moving! House can use some attention today! Have a good day and remember our fathers.

Mornin' Sharon & all who follow~~~

Puppy sitting! That's a fun chore to have. Rascal's probably hoping it stays there and doesn't go with. Hope you get a few trips in.

I'm still at Camp Dads Driveway. Waiting on the truck so I can get the new TT. Good time to purge something's, but haven't found much yet. Guess I'm pretty good about not keeping things cuz I only think about getting rid if almost all the pots & pans. :?

Foggy start to the day here. Have a great day ladies.

Morning all!

Settling in to watch the US women’s soccer match (world cup) soon, really enjoying all the matches.

Just renewed my membership to the Art Institute in Chicago, they’ve got a photography and a Manet exhibit right now that I want to see. And the Warhol exhibit is coming in October!

Hope everyone has a wonderful day.

Good morning gals! :D

I was so tired last night that I went to be at 9:00 which is super early for me. Woke up at 6am but fell back to sleep til 8. Should have gotten up at 6 tho. Went to the storage unit and loaded up the car. Just unloaded it all in my porch. Had planned to go back for two more loads but now it is getting hot out again. That is why I should have gotten up and going at 6! I may try for one more load later on but I need to eat and drink lots of water first. I can really tell when I haven't had enough water.

Lola looks much better today. Her stools look better today too and I haven't even started her on the new meds yet. I think I will keep her on the first meds for awhile and see if she keeps improving. She gets so stressed out when I give her even one of the meds, so I can't imagine trying to give her 6! We'll see. Just need to keep her hydrated too. If that continues to be an issue, I know how to do subQ fluids on a cat so will get a prescription for it so I don't have to keep bringing her in for that.

Thinking of my dad today. I need to remind myself of all the good times we had. We took lots of trips out here to California and that is how I fell in love with this place.

Another cool thing I discovered with the house, is there is a light switch above my bed that turns on the bathroom light. Took me awhile to figure that out until I turned it on after dark!

Hope you all have a good day! :D

Barbie, I read somewhere that cats are often dehydrated. Probably because of a dry food diet. Maybe try Lola on a canned food diet if she isn't already getting canned food. I could see me trying to feed my bunch canned food. The fast eaters would get it all. I can't imagine trying to give a cat 6 medicines. It's a fight to get one down them.

Another day of doing nothing. It's too hot to do much. When I was outside I heard jets several times but never could see them. They sounded like the Air Force jets we hear at the lake. During the week the jets do maneuvers up and down Toledo Bend Lake.

Good Morning, I, too, am watching the women’s World Cup. I do enjoywatching those great athletes.
The bridal shower, at a tea house, was delightful. I met the brides Mother and really like her. I am very happy for my grandson, this time, in .his marriage.
Barbie, I’m sure you are very worried about Lola.
I need a hair cut, but would like to do something different. So, I am delaying getting it cut.

Lola was on dry food for a long time until I took her to the vet before I moved. They gave me some special canned food for her and now she is hooked on the canned stuff.
Just went out to get her some prescription food at PetCo but of course I forgot the prescription, so I just stopped at WM and then at the storage unit and loaded the car up again. Some clouds rolled in for awhile so it was a bit cooler then. Will have to make another trip later to Petco since I am out of food for Lola.

Been watching the US Open PGA golf tournament at Pebble Beach this weekend. Beautiful golf course!

Waiting for my lunch to settle and then start in on lining the kitchen cupboards and drawers again. There are so many cabinets! I found some more interesting things today. One I am not sure what it is. Will post a photo and see if any of you might know.

I tweaked my haircut and it looks better. Need to frost it now.

Hi everyone!

O'Sharon, according to our weather map, we're going to have rain everyday this week and the temperatures have been way below normal. Cheryl, I hope you get things straightened out for you. My heart breaks for you! Mickey, it's so good seeing you posting so often! Barbie, I hope you find out what's going on with Lola. Martha, there are several campgrounds we go to where we can hear the jets way up there somewhere. I've often wondered what it would be like to be in one of them! Lyn, I'm so glad you are home and such a good trip on the road.

We are leaving tomorrow for our whirl wind trip. We are meeting friends from upstate NY and the 4 of us will meet in Portersville PA for 2 nights. We will take 5 days to drive across the Midwest to get to Deadwood SC to visit the area where Beth is. Beth, as we get closer, in another day or two (we'll still be in upstate PA at that time), I'll PM you and let you know our schedule. July 1st, we have reservations to be in Casper Wyoming and leave there July 8th.

Went back to PetCo after the golf tournament but it was already closed (just after 5pm). So stopped at the store and bought a few more cans of regular cat food for now.

Got the drawer liners done in the kitchen and put away what I had here. The cupboards were a little dirty but at least no funky smells or mouse droppings! There's more stuff in the car from this morning that I never got unloaded, so will do that tomorrow.

I picked out two of the meds that I thought were the most important to give to Lola and will start her on those tonight. One is just powder that I mix in with her food so that shouldn't be a problem. Then just the prednisone from the other vet and the new anti-diarrhea meds. We'll see how that goes.

Irmi, have fun on your trip!

Barbara suggestions for Lola. Even though Mandy likes and eats her Merrick all meat canned food, if I take my hand and dribble a little water , it readily absorbs it. That way I know she is getting even more fluid even though only a little. Next, it’s known many cats enjoy running or moving water. I bought (years ago) a Petmate fountain and filters . Both our cats really like the running fountain to drink from. We bought filters in bulk and ours can go (except the pump ) in top rack of dishwasher. Filter helps but but you do have to clean because of course cat saliva gets in it. Lola might enjoy a cool running fountain to drink from and might drink more. Our fountain pump finally gave out after years of use. I thought I’d have to buy new fountain. Nope I called Petmate and they had me give details and send photo as pump has changed design. They sent me a new pump for my now outdated model from their stock on hand FREE. I like a company who stands behind their products even years later!

Velda, thanks for the suggestions. I just fed Lola (again!) and added about a quarter cup of water which made it gravy like. She is eating it all. I will do that every time I feed her (which is every couple hours lately! She hasn't lost her appetite at all! ). I have tried the water fountain with her before and she didn't care for it. I noticed a fairly firm stool in the litter box today so I will keep on with the 3 meds I am currently giving her.

I went back to PetCo which is advertized as having a VetCo there but they don't, and they don't sell prescription food. So I need to order it on-line I guess. Probably cheaper than getting it from a vet tho. Probably order from Chewy.com.

I have a guy coming over Thursday evening to help me get my love seats, recliner, bike and kayak from my storage unit, to my house. I still need to clean out my storage shed but it isn't too bad, so I can put stuff in there that I don't need too often.

Also got invited to the weekly dinner out again for Wednesday evening. They get about 30+ people for that each week. Should be fun! Then they are having a meeting on Saturday about their emergency disaster plans in the park, and an ice cream social afterward. Both good things to attend!

Stopped at IHOP this morning and had a lousy breakfast after waiting about 45 minutes for it. Then decided to go look at golf carts. Stopped at about 4 places before I found one close to my price limit and had most of the features I was looking for. The guy was nice (and talkative and a little too friendly  ) but he was new there and it took a couple hours to get the purchase finalized. So anyways, I got myself a golf cart that is used but in decent shape, new batteries, built in ice cooler, stereo/cd player, hood with storage underneath, back rear-facing passenger seat that folds up for more storage. It looks like a little car! Not the color I am real fond of but with some cute decals on it, it should look OK for what I need it for. Ended up costing a little more than I wanted to spend but the least expensive one I found with all the things I was looking for. Oh, and it has an adjustable seat which is good for me with my short legs! Most carts I looked at don't have that. Considering they design those carts for men (golfers), the seats are pretty far back. The seats are comfy too. They are delivering it at the end of the week after they get it all detailed and add the fans I asked for (free) on the windshield bars.

Barbara, now that’s really cute car! Have fun! Will they have holiday events there with carts, someone I knew in Florida used to decorate theirs for the parade and judging for prizes.
What type RX food? There are many for many different conditions: kidney, thyroid, etc! Most can be duplicated with home made if she will eat homemade and cheaper but it takes work. For instance thyroid must be low iodine.

it Q just before Christmas they have the light parade if it runs it can be in it... so ATV's bikes golf carts ect can be decorated and in the parade... it was too cold this winter go didn't make it but it is well attended... both in it and those that line the route.
got my plants planted but need to go get some more...one plant I don't think is going to make it think it didn't fare well with snow the other day... need to figure out what to do with the fushias kinda think I need a planter that I can hang for them and want to get something to go with the 3 petunias something taller and perhaps some more petunias... there was a planter at one the nursery's the other day that had I had the $$$ I would have bout it love the color... did my dishes fed birds and left the door open had a downpour so heavy that although I got the window shut I just let it rain in figured I could clean up the floor... one rug is out on the yard hoping to dry tomorrow. no rain gauge so no idea how much rain fall there was but it was a lot... then it started in again but I closed the door only to realize that it was coming down a different angle and wouldn't come in anyway... not it's cleared up and we are perhaps going to have a great sunset...
might need to go turn on the buddy it is somewhat chilly.
love your new to you golf cart Barbie
