Saturday, Already Afternoon

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Saturday, Already Afternoon

After working close last two nights I slept in. Then went down for a customer problem this morning that was resolved before I got there :) Headed to the store in Hill City after that because our store was low on and out of some produce. $60 plus dollars of produce later I'm home and eating lunch. It's beautiful out so Ty and I will take a walk shortly.

Sitting at pullover having just survived southbound highway 1 from Leggett California southbound to ocean. Lots of hairpin turns and no shoulders etc. whew. Not for new RVers and even some very experienced ones but I made it.

Glad you made it Judy! Those roads can be very scary!

I noticed this morning that Lola wasn't looking very good. She looked very dehydrated and still losing weight and not very energetic. Big difference from just a few days ago. The vet I took her to last week doesn't work on weekends. I called him and left a message but never heard back from him. So I took her to another vet clinic who got her in right away. It is very expensive but it is a large clinic and they seem to really know what they are doing. (The other vet works out of his house and has limited hours and testing equipment.) I left Lola there to get an ultrasound and thyroid test done and subQ fluids. Hopefully they can find out what is really going on with her. She eats like a horse but still losing weight. I will pick her up in a couple hours when they are done with her tests. $$$ :o

Meanwhile, I have plenty to keep me busy at home. The winds have finally died down so not so dusty all over.

Have a good day!

Barbie, hope they can find out what is wrong with Lola. I lucked up on an emergency vet clinic in Lafayette when Orange Boy had the growth in his ear. The local vets take turns being on call after hours and some are mostly large animal vets. I don't want to bring a cat to them. The emergency clinic is open 24 hours. I don't know what's going on with Sweetie Pie. For a couple of days she wanted back in the kennel so I left the door open and she stayed in there most of the time. This morning she was laying in a cat bed in the dining room for a while and now she is back under the bed. Besides CC being mean to her I think Annie is too.

Hank has a yeast infection in both ears. I was thinking about going camping a day early on Wednesday. I can't ask my neighbor to treat Hank while I'm gone so I'm back to Thursday. I can treat him Thursday before I leave and Sunday when I get back so he will only miss 2 days.

I am doing a lot of nothing today. Cleaning house is an option I don't care for. I ran the Roomba but it needs a new battery so doesn't run very long. Guess I can look for a new battery to order.

Well, after the ultrasound and some other tests (no blood panel since I gave them a copy of the one she had at the other vet) and about 6 or 7 prescriptions  to give Lola, I have been set back about $1000. :( I refused some other tests they wanted to do because that would have been another $600. This place is very expensive. While I was home waiting for the tests to be done, I checked the reviews on this place and about half of them were 5 stars and the other half were very upset 1 star reviews. I will give her the meds I got and then if she continues to have issues, I found a cat-only vet that had awesome reviews with people saying they are very affordable, that I will try next. It basically sounds like inflammation of the intestines and liver, which may be cancer or maybe not. She is 15 1/2 now. I just want her comfortable and happy for her remaining years.

I am tired now. Too late to take a nap tho. Will just go to bed early and get back to working on things in the house tomorrow. I did find a junk drawer in the kitchen today that I missed cleaning out the other day. Not looking forward to the challenge of giving Lola all her new meds tonight. :(

Evening is here. Was a great day. Toni (RV visitor) and I went to historic Jacksonville today. Poked in and out of all the cute (ie: expensive) stores but some unique items. Had lunch at a very good Mexican restaurant. Spent another hour or so in lots of the other stores then headed home. Stopped and got a Blended Hazelnut Mocha, mmmmmmm tasted so good as it was getting quite warm out. Yup time to head home so we could both have some time for our dogs. Toni is heading over to the coast tomorrow so hoping she has a great trip.

Housekeeping chores are still looming over my head but it was more fun to kick around with Toni LOL the house chores will still be here tomorrow.

Barbie sure hope you figure out what is wrong with Lola. I always hate when the animals are sick, makes you wish they could talk.

Have fun camping Martha.

I've traveled that road a few times, the trip I remember most was when about halfway through a very dense fog drifted in and there was practically zero viability!!

went and got my hair cut today!!! yea.... about 5 inches he said didn't realize it was that long so perhaps it just looked like it
glad to have it done... found the yarn I needed for the quilt I am going to make for my great granddaughter...
then one to wal mart not my favorite place to go to especially on a Sat. but braved it... got what I needed except for the Kleenex just simply forgot it... till at the check out and not about to go back as my items were on the belt..and dd waiting in the car...she doesn't do crowds with ease so wanted to hurry... we also went to a Indian Restaurant do enjoy it wish we had more than the one to choose from there is one on the other side of town that we have not tried but no reason to go that far away perhaps the next time we will .... my other Idaho dd doesn't enjoy Indian food so we don't always get to try it...
then home and a nap should have gone out and planted the plants but nap won out... it was really windy so wouldn't have been a good time to do it anyway
now I am veggin out with tv...
Barbie hope Lola gets to feeling better didn't realize she is that old... Shadow went through a few days of not eating and then he seemed to have problems getting up on the furniture like the couch and bed when he went back to eating he was able to get up so thinking he was just weak
my memory of HWY1 is as a teenager we took a as my sister labels them the one week wonder... my dad was a rancher getting away was very hard to do but this one year we took off to Oregon saw relatives and crater lake down to CA can't think of the town relatives then hit hwy l or was it before don't remember very curvy very foggy my brother was very nervous dad said Hell .... if you are nervous eat an apple he ate about 5 in that many minutes... just before we got to CA we had stopped at a fruit stand bought apples not knowing about the AGi check ...could have taken them away but said that they knew the stand and would let us take them on... good thing don't know what my brother would have done without them...
tomorrow is Father's day lost my in 1973 he is still missed and my husband though not my father my children's father in 2012 live goes on but they are never replaced
