It’s Tuesday

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

It’s Tuesday

Good morning! It’s going to be a busy week for me. My son’s house sold and they will have to be out by next Sunday so the push is on with getting the new house to the point of having running water and a bathroom finished. Luckily they have the RV so that’ll get used too. Tonight after he gets off work I’ll be there to help with the pumps to get said water into the house. Yesterday the guy brought several truckloads of gravel in so since it was a good day we worked on spreading and compacting that.I actually got to drive the compacting machine. Adding heavy equipment operator to my resume! But now he at least has a pad to park the RV close to the house. Kitchen appliances to be delivered on Saturday and cabinets to be installed mid week next week so they’ll soon have a functional kitchen. So much left to do! And this weather sure isn’t helping. Tina, hope you are safe from the tornados that hit Ohio last night. We’re under a watch this afternoon for some bad storms. Birdie, exciting news from you! So great that you’ll be in the same village as Liz. I so enjoyed camping in Carolb’s driveway with you. Good memory. Beth, hope your weather calms down too. We are in for a string of high temps and humidity. I’m contemplating getting the air conditioner in the window this week but so far the house is staying at a reasonable temp so not in a real rush to do it. Goodness Shelia, sounds like you’re meeting yourself coming and going! My grandson is graduating next week so lots of activities surrounding that on top of the moving stuff. Definitely feel like I’m being pulled in two directions! This is my youngest son’s boy. So at this point June looks like I’ll be running back and forth doing this and that. Sadly no travel in the picture. I still need to go over to OH to pick up the things for son but now just contemplating a day trip instead of taking the RV and camping a night or two. I really wanted to go back to the campground where I met up with Donna, Liz and Nan a few years ago. We’ll see! Well, my coffee is done so I need to get a few things done around my house before I head out later! So hope you all have a great day and can do something fun!

Sharon, sounds like you have a very busy month coming up! Hopefully, after all that, you can go camping for a bit and relax!

More sorting and packing today and then cleaning house and cleaning up the yard. The guys should be back to finish up working under the house today. Then need the termite guy to come out to do a clearance on the work. Then we should be good to go for closing!

Have a small U-Haul reserved for next Monday when I take my final trip to my new home! I am actually happy that the temps out there will be hitting just over 100* next week, so any fleas, eggs, etc. left over on/in stuff in the storage unit will be doomed. I am still getting bit all over! Will have to fog in here one more time before I leave. Don't want to pass those on to the new owner!

Sunny today and less windy so far. Was really gusty yesterday. Need to run a few errands this morning and then start back on the packing.

Have a good day and those up north and out east, stay safe!! Nasty stuff moving thru out there!
Barbie, Romeow, and Sophie, missing Lola! (and lots of ferrets running around in my heart!)

Cool and cloudy at Pacific Beach SP in Washington! What is amazing is that this place is almost empty. It usually is packed all summer and into the fall, but I am guessing the fact that most schools are not open yet has made a difference. The key to this state park is that it is small and most of the campsites are directly on the ocean, so the views are fantastic. Very deep beach also.

I stopped at the Container Store on my way up here yesterday, and I bought two small "Weathertight" hanging folder containers and three larger 8" tall boxes that will fit in my pass-throughs. These are supposed to be moisture-proof. My weight has fluctuated a lot in the past year. I lost 5 lbs in March 2018, then 15 lbs more when I went to the UK. Most of the weight loss was due to not eating and doing a ton of walking. I was afraid to eat much because of my IBS and inability to always find toilets, so even though I was staying at places with a free breakfast, I seldom ate anything until early afternoon. My clothes towards the end of my trip were way too big and my pants were falling off, even though I did some waist tightening with a small sewing kit while I was there. When I got home, I bought a bunch of new shorts and shirts in a smaller or even two-sizes smaller size. Then, I tossed out my really big stuff.

However, over last fall, I gained back 10 of those pounds and added 5 more when I had to stop lasix for a month. I am now back to 10 pounds less than before I went to the UK, which means I have a lot of extra clothing which is too tight. I also have a lot of receipts and other paperwork that I needed to prune down. So last night I went from a big hanging folder box to one of the newer smaller hanging folder boxes. I am going to the the other small hanging folder box for some books I want to store. And last night, I went through my shorts and put the smaller sized ones and a couple of longer pants away in one of the boxes that will fit in my pass through. I know packing away smaller sizes can be overly optimistic, but I have lost a total of 35 pounds since i started out full-timing 7 years ago, and these things were brand-new. My goal is to fit into them in about a year!! That would be having gone from tight-biggest-size stuff to two sizes smaller. Right now I am wearing one size larger than when I started out in 2012.

My control of IBS over the past ten years has been to eat often, but small quantities. (The pasty the other day was an exception!) So, for dinner, I will eat a small piece of steak with a few cherry tomatoes. Then later in the evening I will have a couple of chocolate chip cookies. I do drink Coke and sweetened ice tea, but I do stick in some fruit and vegetables every once in a while. Anyway, it has very slowly worked without making me feel like I am dieting.

Good afternoon. Had a busy weekend and so much fun. It was a super weekend with my BFF Laura. It is her birthday weekend. Had a fabulous crab boil Saturday night at Laura's sister and bil's home. And an Oreo/mint ice cream cake for dessert. There was singing involved ha ha Then we all watched a movie

Sunday we took a small road trip to California to check out the liquor store's supply of Baileys. I did buy a bottle of Mudslide mix. Then we went to a campground we have wanted to check out for a long time. Then came home and BBQ'd some steaks. They were delicious. Monday we mainly hung around the house and visited with Cathy (Laura's sister came over) for a couple of hours. Laura decided she wanted an Air Fryer after researching several models so we bopped over to Best Buy and she found a really good one. We tried it out last night, BBQ'd hot dogs, salad, and Laura made homemade french fries. Very good. I then taught her Mexican train and she caught on very quickly. We didnt keep score but I have no doubt she was the winner LOL

Laura left around noon and it is sooooooo quiet here now. Miss her already. Emma keeps checking to make sure she didn't leave Beedo, her cat behind. LOL They did fine together, Emma was a little exhuberant but Beedo just gave her a swat and a hiss and Emma backed off. ha ha for a bit.

I made my post in the general room... And now I'm going back there to start a birthday post for Laura!
