Morning from the 45th. Cloudy, chilly and still a bit windy here this morning. Storm off to my south dumping some rain and snow. Missing us up here But sure was windy yesterday, up to 40 mph. Was hard driving on I-75 with the wind gusts. Glad I wasn’t pulling my trailer.

Speaking of trailers. Anne, I know about the Andersen hitch but I am having an Equal-zer hitch put on. http://www.EqualizerHitch.com. It’s one of the top rated hitches in the country. No chains, no sway control bars needed as it has a 4 point sway control built into the system. All I’ll have to do is fasten the spring bars in place and off we go. And a local dealer right here carries and installs them. But thanks for the Information.

Karen, I think Lowe’s feels the same about me too as I’m in there so much Sheila, sounds like you aren’t having the smoothest trip north this spring. Hope it goes well from here on. Wow Barbie, things are popping at your house. Last weekend being Easter, probably slowed things up a bit. Usually does when a holiday or something comes around.

Not sure what’s on the agenda today. Too chilly and breezy to do anything outside. Might go to town. Found a mattress topper to put on my trailers bed, in order, so that is done. Ew battery is next in line.

Dishes are calling in the kitchen, so guess I should go get them taken care of. Have a nice day everyone.

Good morning. Having my last cup of coffee before I decide just what chores I will do today. Am thinking nothing to bother my back as it is a little touchy today. After lugging all those stupid Mulch bags yesterday. Might just finish weeding my raised bed so I can add the fertilizer and let it settle before planting next week.

Sheila glad you made it to Utah safely. Everyone is starting to get dialed in for camping season. Once I get my garden in I think I will go somewhere for a few days. I need a camping fix.

YAY Barbie has a sale............now the fun packing starts.

Yep, contract was signed by buyer last night! My agent still wants to do the showing this morning so we have a backup in case anything happens with this deal. The man still needs to be approved by the park. Closing will be June 3rd.

Now for the sorting, organizing and packing! Will start on the shed. Will be a good day for that since it is cloudy and cool today.

Sheila, I hope things go better for the rest of your trip north. I know that frustration all too well!

Found out I have almost 40 hours worth of sick time accrued that I will get paid for when I leave this shop! That will help!

My cold kicked into full gear last night and I still feel bad. My jaw is hurting again. I would like to know why that comes and goes. There is a seafood cook-off going on at the local state park and I don't even feel like going to that. There's an international music festival going on in Lafayette and won't make that.

Shiela, hope you make it to all your planned events. Your family keeps you moving.

Hope the sale works out this time Barbie. I hate to even think about ever moving again.

Wonderful news, Barbie! I am going to be inside most of today, grading online presentations, and enjoying my view of the ocean through two areas in front of me. Camp road goes between me and beach and there are some tent campers there, plus some shrubbery, but I still get two areas where I can see the ocean and waves. Considering my senior price for this spot was $18, that is not bad.

Very weak cell signal, but I can manage to get through in the morning and evening. It is also really cold and windy here, but wind is supposed to be better later in the week. The nicest part of full-timing is to be able to stay in one spot for more than a week and not worry about having to be somewhere else. If I don't walk on the beach today, I will have tomorrow and the next day! So with my satellite providing TV and some Internet service through Verizon, plus a stuffed refrigerator and freezer, I am as happy as a clam, as they say. (Except how can a clam be happy???)

Thursday and Friday, my Mercedes Sprintr made its first visit to a dealership in 14 years- yes 14! Mel did service on the van but there were items that in service book start every 10 years or 169,000 miles. Well, we passed 10 years 4 years ago while Mel was sick and mileage is only 27,000, so I made the decision to do all of those neglected service points plus a regular oil change. He estimated $1500, but said he would find a discount coupon. Ended up just over $1200 and if you divide that by 14, it's under $100 a year for chassis maintenance. Several of these items will be due again in 10 years! Meanwhile generator and solar will be fixed June 4-7. That's going to be a big bill I think.
In case you are curious what $1200 bought: drain and flush and refill radiator, drain and flush and refill brake fluid, drain and flush and refill transmission, drain and flush and refill differential, plus oil change and filter and a fuel filter (needed because van sat so much and diesel is known to grow algae !) in addition I had the replacement aluminum turbo in a cupboard for when the original plastic one failed some day, as they were prone to do. My service adviser said, let me have them install that no charge because the other one will fail and I would hate to have you out in the boonies and it fail leaving you not only stranded with the part but no one to install it.,we bought the upgrade years ago when word spread of the cracking originals, but Mel never saw need to put it in, though he carried the printed instructions plus the tools. I was chauffeured from dealer home in a nice Mercedes Metris Thursday and a driver picked me up Friday in a very fancy Mercedes car. Very happy with Rocklin Metcedes. They came highly recommended and I agree. To get my Chrysler PT in for service often requires weeks and lucky if a shuttle is available sometimes. Mercedes, I called on Monday and they said can you be here tomorrow or Thursday? in case you think having those items all flushed and refilled was excessive, remember, this is a diesel Mercedes and fluids break down over time. I dont regret a single one of the items. I feel secure heading out with all check poked and ready.
I'm puttering on various projects today. After watching a YouTube channel by a woman who has a class B, I went out to the van with a twin extra long sheet. Never tried before because was making bed for two. What do you know, a twin XL fits the sofa perfectly and I have a new set of pretty light purple flowers sheets I just got for my bed here at the house. So once maintenance is done I'm going to lay sofa flat and put on a piece of memory foam and a mattress pad and make the bed with pretty purple sheets. No more sofa up, bed down each day! Not putting sofa down yet as I need a new cotter pin.
Slowly I'm clearing the house and yard. I look forward to freedom of travel at least on short trips until I sell the bus and get an XL son plus 2 cats friendly rig so we can all go. We have places to go and people to see.
Have a question for anyone. My sister in law sent us a very fancy squirrel proof bird feeder a few years ago. It's still in the box. I have this idea to somehow make a stand where the pole with the feeder could be lifted out of a sleeve which was permanently in a stand or heavy bucket on wheels. I'd like to be able to take it with me if I move as well as take it down to clean periodically. Any of you ever done that or have any suggestions?

Spent the day taking everything out of the shed, going thru all the bins, reorganizing some of them, taking out things to sell in the carport sale next weekend, and putting the bins back in the shed. Now there is a lot more room in there. So the bins in the house can be put out there as I get them packed up. Just have a few things left to sort out there, but dark clouds started rolling in and looked like it was gonna start raining so I wrapped it up for the night. Will finish that project tomorrow morning and then start on my master closet which is a mess!

Also did two big loads of laundry. My agent was here to get a couple more forms signed by me and she is a real talker so that took up a couple hours.

There was a shooting at a synagogue just south of here today. One woman died and several others injured. It was a 19 year old who was the shooter. So sad. He was a student at a local college and now he will be in prison for murder instead. They think he was also responsible for a Muslim temple fire last month as well.

Think I will make some chocolate chip cookies tonight.
