Messy Friday

Morning all. Friday already! Seems like it was just April 1st and here we are, the 5th. Course when one is busy, time moves on. Bit of a snow+/rain mix out there. Weather Advisory till noon. Winiter just doesn’tant to let go. But then snow on the ground here this time of year is normal. This isn’t going to amount to much except slick up the roads. Warmer air and rain coming for late tomorrow, Sunday, Monday and Into Tuesday. That will be very welcomed. I want the rest of this white stuff out of here so I can start getting stuff done on my trailer before that first trip if the season is on top of me.

Barb, glad you got your house all set for selling. Best of luck. Hardest part is keeping things looking good as never know when a potential buyer will want a showing. Beth, you are really anxious to get back to SD aren’t you. Guess it’s a case of loving a job more than one realizes despite all the work, frustrations etc. involved and a beautiful area to be in helps a lot too. I know SD imprinted on me too and is callng me back. Are any of the people who worked with you coming back this year. I know you mentioned Linda was. The whom of, has been very scarce on here. Wish I were coming back out there this summer, but not going to happen. Hopefully next year. Tina, sorry you have to fork out a bunch of green, but at least you know new rubber under your rig will mean safer travels. I know how that is when those unexpected expenses pop up.

Garage project is moving along. Reconstruction of workbench is done for now. Will do the cosmetic stuff later. Can’t paint out there yet anyway. Now attention is shifted to pegboard work. Going to try an experiment this weekend to see if an idea I have for building a pegboard backed cupboard will work. Just something to keep tools out of site.

Enough jabbering here. You all have a nice day, stay safe whether home, on the road or wherever.

After pretty much all returnees last year, Linda is the only one this year! And I'm not sure how excited, it's just once on the way I start watching weather closer, etc. Last year I had to stay a couple extra days in Colorado. This year weather is going my way. One reason I'm hoping to go in Tuesday is Keystone may have snow Wednesday... I'd rather not arrive in that.

Here's hoping for a quick sale, Barbie!

Sue, I need your ambition for projects. One of the boards on the back walkway needs to be replaced. Since I cut up the neighbors trash for firewood I know I can use the saw but don't know where the drill is. I know I need the drill to put those long screws in.

Most of the water has drained off but we are suppose to get another storm on Sunday. Yesterday the rain gauge was running over at 5 inches. I won't be able to mow the bottom part of my yard for weeks. If it wouldn't cost so much I would fence that part off so the cows could go in there.

I need to go to town to pick up some things. If I don't go today it will be worse in town on Saturday.

Barbie, hope your house sells fast.

Slept in this morning and am still in bed. I have a few things I need to take care of before going to work this afternoon. I keep thinking about other little things I need to do around here. I guess little projects never end with a house but I know buyers can be knit-picky about little stuff.

I think it rained a little overnight and still looks cloudy out there. They said we are supposed to have a heat wave this weekend. I checked the forecast and it is gonna be way up into the high 70's! Lol! I guess around here that is a heat wave for spring!

Gotta get up and eat some and then take my meds. Oh, yeah, the cats need their flea meds too.

Sue, you sure love your projects! I wish I was that ambitious! In my mind, I have ambition, but physically, I lose it along the way! I had big plans for my garden areas when I bought this place but I realize I never bought a single plant. I looked at lots of them but never got any. I guess the new owners will have a clean slate to work with! I hope they don't mind weeding!

OK...I need to get up...

Still in Valley of Fire until tomorrow morning. Will stop in Las Vegas in the morning on my way out to pick up med refills and a couple of things from Trader Joes--mainly the frozen chocolate pastires you let rise overnight and then bake in the morning.

This campground is full all the time, As soon as someone leaves, someone takes their spot, but there are dozens and dozens of people driving past the FULL sign and looking for spots. They start in early morning and continue even after dark. That means clouds of desert dust because the roads are gravel and dust. So, even though there is a nice, cool breeze outside, I have to keep my windows closed or almost closed and my AC on! Frustrating. I don't mind gravel campsites, but I really wish campgrounds that get as much use as this one were paved!!! And the wind is blowing right my direction today, It is so dusty, I certainly would not want to sit outside today. The dust is the only negative about this lovely place. I saw a big herd of at least 20 bighorn sheep yesterday, which makes up for a lot.

Going to try to replace my shower faucet handles. It looks easy. I will take some before pictures and post some after ones. This would be a five-minute job for someone like Sue or Anne, but for me it will no doubt take an hour or two. The problem is that the screw hole on my cold water faucet is stripped, so you have to turn the handle several revolutions to get cold water. Whoever made this RV must have just picked up a wood screw off the floor, because THAT is what they used instead of the screw that comes with the set. I tried replacing the screw with a bigger one, then replacing the handle with a new one, and it still is hard to adjust temperature. The new one has handles instead of knobs, so might be easier for grandkids. Certainly will be easier for me.

Wish me luck, and I wish our more mechanically-inclined members were closer to me in case I get into trouble. I am always afraid to do these things in case I mess things up.

Good afternoon. I made it home from my wonderful trip to FL late Tuesday.
Finished taxes late yesterday - an expensive adventure but glad to have that item crossed off my to do list. Still have about a foot thick stack of mail to go thru but not in mood for that. In fact think it may end up being a lazy day all the way. May do an errand or two.
Dogwoods, red buds etc are almost in full bloom here. Beautiful. But other trees are spitting out tons of pollen.
