Morning All, Overcast day on Maryland’s Eastern Shore. Fireman knocked on door early this morning, checking on a reported gas odor. So glad I was wearing flannel pjs instead of my see through black nightie. That was my excitement for the week. Tina, enjoying your travels. Sandi, beautifull remodeled bathroom. I finally have a walk in shower but haven’t a clue how to keep all that glass clean. Advice please. Safe travels

Good morning all. A cold and so far sunny day here. Supposed to get freezing rain later and then Wednesday sounds like we’ll be in the same pattern as last week with the ice and snow. Judy, don’t envy you having to head south through what sounds like could be some nasty passes over the mountains. Spring can’t come soon enough!
Nothing much else happening here. If I get a decent day I’d like to drive up to Benezette. I’ve beeen enjoying seeing the photos of the large herds of elk on FB. Thought about going yesterday but it was really cold with wind so chicken that I am I didn’t want to be out in it! It’s only about an hour from me so an easy day trip. Sue, haven’t heard much from you the last few days. Still busy with you projects? Karen, sounds like things are working out for getting Malias’s RV back to Texas. Will you drain and bypass the hot water tank when you put antifreeze down the traps? You CA gals are really getting hit with the rains.a. Stay safe.
Enough rambling here. Need to throw a load of clothes in the dryer and get busy! Hope everyone has a good day.

I think I would have a problem keeping the shower glass clean too. Yesterday the part that holds the shower head in the handicap shower broke and fell off. The bottom rusted out. I haven't been to Lowe's to see what's out there yet so have been trying to think of a way to repair it. If I lived in a real house I would like to put in a shower like Sandi but since this is basically a double wide I don't think a tile shower would hold up. The only way that I see to access the parts that rusted would be to cut a hole in the wall behind the toilet. I'll probably end up MacGyvering it.

I wanted some BBQ chicken for lunch but decided to cook some chicken pieces instead of going to town. BBQ chicken seems to be the goto meal for Sunday. There are several places in town you can pick it up. I heated up a can of peas and carrots. My meal choices are usually based on what ever has the oldest date.

Yesterday it was foggy until after 10:00 and stayed hazy and gray all day. There was a cold front stalled in the middle of the state. North Louisiana had temperatures in the 40's and it was in the 70's here. It's already 76 today. I think I'm going to have to turn the air conditioner on again.

Shirl, I check the weather everyday to see what's going on there. When someone arrives unexpectedly in the early morning hours, my first concern is I haven't put makeup on yet. LOL!

Martha, like you, I also would like to know how to get the water spots off the shower doors. We have the frosted shower doors, but the water spots are starting to get on my very last nerve.

The organ in church was acting up this morning and somehow changed the setting in the middle of the first hymn. I got it going and it stayed put for the rest of the service. Good grief. Have a good Sunday!

The fire dept came back two times, guess they like flannel pjs. Just kidding. I got dressed after the first visit just in case they said to evacuate. In the meantime #1 daughter heard about the fire dept visit on Facebook and called in a panic. I text her after the 3rd visit. Us country folk aren’t use to apartment living. Will be careful about choice of nightclothes in the future. Remember what your mother said about wearing clean underwear.

For those asking about keeping spots off shower glass, before my recent remodel I used Clean Shower. It’s a spray I bought at both Walmart and Target that reduces spots and any mold buildup. I did use a squeegee after because just leaving the spray still left some marks. I can’t use it now because it can’t be used on natural stone which I have on the pan (floor) of the new shower.

When I went to the big tent during the RV show in Q, I bought a squeegee set that came with a larger squeegee, 2 cleaning pads and longer pole, supposedly to be used for RV or home window cleaning. Then there is a smaller squeegee with a short handle I use in the shower.



It’s called Aquablade and is apparently made in Italy. It works so much better than the regular squeegee I’ve been using. I think that’s because it’s more flexible. The glass is basically dry after wiping with the squeegee. Then I just go back with a towel to catch any errant drops.

In looking online I see they’re selling similar sets for close to twice what I paid - which was $40 and well worth that price. Maybe an RV or Home show is the best place to find a lower price. I haven’t used it on the RV windows yet, but I anticipate I’ll be just as happy with the results. Knowing how well it works I’d probably even spring for the higher price.

I use Hope's Glass Cleaner and love it. I use it in my car, motorhome, my house windows, shower, etc. Never any streaks, I use a squeege and a microfiber cloth with minimal effort. But I dont have a fancy schmantzy shower like my friend LOL

Hummm, had a go bag in Rv. Maybe need one living in an apartment too. See how my mind works, clean the shower glass or evacuate the apartment. I’m not senile, I’m thinking.

A robe next to the door would also be helpful. I don't wear see-through black nighties, but ever since I started living in my RV, I lay out my clothes for the next day and put them on the bunk table. I figure if there is a fire or an emergency, I can grab clothing on my way out. (I wear 100% cotton-knit nightgowns, which are hard to find these days.) At least if I am outside in the middle of the night, I can put some clothes on!!

And I also determine my meals by what is likely to spoil first! Got rid of the extra blueberry pancakes and sausage patties this morning. Tomorrow, I will have to delve into the freezer stuff. Living alone is sometimes hard because you always end up with leftovers that have to be eaten.

I don't have a go-bag, but I guess I should. I could easily put it right next to my clothes for the next day.

Ty and I went sightseeing with Ginger and Tina. Tina got to my park yesterday afternoon. Although it was cold and windy today we had a great time.

I use a regular squeegee on my rv shower after turning off the water from each shower... No cleaner. It requires very little "real" cleaning.

Just got home from a long day at work, Second day of the haircut sale and was super busy!

I use Dawn in a spray bottle to clean my windows, etc,. Works great!

Rained a little off and on today but just enough to barely wet the ground. Fine by me! They are expecting up to a foot of snow tonight in the lower mountains just east of San Diego (Julian, Mt Laguna area).

At my sister's I can just put Shadow out into the back yard as it is fenced so I don't have to go out with him. tonight opened the door and there is snow on the ground.... this is Las Vegas

Last year Kerry showed me this new funky towel she had gotten a type of miracle cloth no cleaner just water.. wipe with one and use the drying cloth to finish. she just did a circle on my back window and then the year got away without my doing windows on the outside . but I realized that I could still see that circle after a year .. so I got the cloth.. have done the inside of some of the windows. outside of some but then the rains came and the trip to Vegas. When I get back will hope for cloudy but warm days to do the outside windows... plus I am vertically challenged and that back window is a bear to get to even with a ladder. perhaps if the genny has to go away to get fixed I can do it then ...
wish I could remember the name of this cloth ... one of it's selling features is you can wipe down the counters and suppose to make them really clean and do even the toilet with it not me that is just too gross sounding but that is one of it's selling features.

Got to talking with the professional glass cleaner at a casino where the glass walls, etc. were so clear. He said his secret ingredient was JetDry - the rinsing agent you put in dishwashers. A few drops of dish detergent and a little JetDry in a bucket of water is all he used with his squeege. There were no spots, no streaks, just shiny clear glass. And he said it just takes a tiny bit of soap and rinse agent - don't overdo it.

Living in So. Cal. we all think we're prepared for emergencies like earthquakes and fires. In reality, I figure I'll be at the supermarket when the big one hits and my emergency supplies are back home! When I was working I used to keep a cheap nylon backpack in the trunk of my car with sneakers, windbreaker, granola bars, water, etc. just in case I got stranded. Now I cart around grocery bags in my trunk instead because Calif. passed a law outlawing the store plastic bags and we have to bring our own bags (which half the time get left in the car!). Stores are allowed to sell us thicker reusable plastic bags, but most of us miss lining our wastebaskets, etc. with the old free ones.

Evie, I agree. I always forget my bags in the car when I go in shopping! I have a ton of them and occasionally will drop off a bunch to recycle. They are not very useful for garbage bags since they are so thick. Why don't they go back to the paper bags with the handles? I loved those!

For groceries, I have nylon bags by CHICO. They stuff back into a sewn in bag after use, go in my washer periodically to clean and dry in short time. My oldest bags are 10 years kd and still in use. They are so light and compact when in their little bag/pocket that several fit in a inside pocket in my purse. I don't notice they are there, but handy when I need them I recommend them. I developed a habit of putting them back in my purse after use, which is easier than remembering to haul the bigger bags out to the car and into stores.
